Clover cafe, just one of the only spots in Oregon House. We've come here 3 times now. We came back out here because of the beautiful Sierra views of the woods. But each time I've tried to give this place a chance they have failed. Waste of so much money. The only reason it gets two stars is the young women who are working the front of the house. They are so kind and sweet, however not knowledgeable of the wine. It seems ironic to have local vineyards and cannot taste some of the wines by the glass? Also, the "local" wineries are private or you have to have an appointment!? Phone numbers do not work. And the only place to "taste" the wine is Clover Cafe? Very odd and not normal coming from the Bay Area/Napa. "Renaissance wine" what's up with your wine? And that vineyard. Weird vibes and the lady at the gate when protecting this vineyard told me to go to Clover Cafe and made us seem like we couldn't afford the wine at their "private" winery! Weird. The restaurant when you pull up is on the corner of the main road and has lots of parking, the inside of the restaurant and outside are pretty nice! Lots of space. However; the food takes 20-30 minutes to come out and when it comes out the presentation is not appealing, and the food from the menu described is not what is served. The BBQ pork sandwich was soggy. And the fries over cooked. The breaded chicken sandwich was also sloppy and is bigger than the bun. The tomales Bay blue cheese spinach and walnut salad is only spinach with crumbles of blue cheese and walnuts and dressing sloped all over the place. It had minimal flavor. The barbecue sauce on the barbecue slider was also had a strong vinegar taste. The wine was not good, it was very pricy as well. The wine tastes like old wood and had other little pieces of debris flowing in it because the glasses were dirty and had spots all over them and that has happened to me each time. I have ordered wine here twice. This is based on giving them a second chance. Being that this is supposed to be "an upscale restaurant" for the town you would think that they would keep things clean and make sure they are everything. Also, the town has a weird vibe in Oregon Town. Like I said the young women working are the only thing keeping the customer service and place alive. I definitely will not be coming back to Oregon House being this second/3rd experience was the worst. Sadly this seems like they pick and choose the chosen and everything is private property. Will not be back in Oregon house. read more

We have been here a few times and each time the food was really good however this last visit our chicken sandwich's were not good. Lacked flavor, the meat was way over cooked and under seasoned and the buns completely fell apart. I was really disappointed because I was treating my friend to her bday lunch. The service was great and the people working there are friendly. We will give it one more try but for 60.00 I expected better food. The food here was delicious. I got the chicken sandwich and it was very good. Nice breading and the pickles and onions accented it well. The tomato was a little much, could do without. The air fries are amazing too. I'd definitely eat here again. Good ambiance, clean and friendly. Service was maybe a tad slow, we even ordered ahead and it took awhile. Get lost on your way to Oroville! We missed the left at Loma Rica and ended up wandering the countryside in search of sustenance. The Clover Cafe appeared like a mirage. Upon entering we met a cat named Felix behind the counter offering a genuine welcome, even going so far as to tell us he was glad we were there!!! (Authors note: we are originally from San Jose so you may understand our shock at this kind of friendliness). The vibe is community coffee house, with a side of bohemian. Local wines are featured along with a table of books by local authors. We ordered a blueberry tart, breakfast burritos and avocado toast. While we sipped our coffee, I was absolutely delighted to hear actual eggs crack and whipped in the kitchen. The avo toast was served on thick sliced whole wheat sourdough, homemade according to Felix, like almost every other baked good served. The eggs in the burrito were perfectly cooked, served with a delicious, fresh pico di gallo. This was overall a delightful detour, Felix and his warm welcome and attentive service being a highlight. If you're local, visit early and often and if you're within a 20 mile radius of this place, we highly recommend making The Clover a destination. read more

Stopped here for dinner after driving 8 hours. Cute little restaurant with a friendly staff. We got all three taco varieties. The pork was my favorite and my husband loved the spicy chicken tacos. We got it to go since we were tired and were amazed how much meat was in each taco. I ended up having leftovers which I added to my eggs in the morning. read more

What a great out-of-the-way find! Very understated from the outside, but once inside this place warms your heart. The indoor portion of the cafe is fresh and inviting and overlooks the deck, which beckons you to step outdoors and sit at one of the picnic tables adorned with fresh flowers. The staff was friendly and our waitress was darling. We only shared a dessert (yummy) and beverages but will certainly bring bigger appetites next time we are in the area. The birthday wish and gold candle topped off my husband's special day. If you are in the area, be sure to check this one out...and keep in mind they are adding an outdoor theater for live entertainment. Wish we lived closer! We'd be regulars. read more

This place is a real gem in the foothills. Since "discovering" it a few months ago I've been popping in about once a week. This adorable little cafe is nestled right by the Thousand Trails RV Campground which made the experience even better. We were looking for a place to grab lunch after spending a few hours at Collins Lake. It's such a cute little treasure and we were welcomed with open arms from the moment we walked in. There were two young ladies at the front and they were extremely helpful. Jordan took our order and was super sweet, gave us some great menu recommendations and even accommodated our picky 4 year old with a grilled cheese. We ordered the burgers and they were TO DIE FOR! Every bite was better than the next, and eating out in the beautiful patio area was the cherry on top of a fantastic lunch. We have been passing the Clover Cafe for a few years and always wanted to stop in. We finally decided to today. Late November day, high 60s, sunshine, just a gorgeous day. We sat out on the deck and had a great lunch. Husband had the smashburger (dynomite fries!), I had the peanut chicken salad. Both were great, and we cleaned out plates. It was so nice to just sit and enjoy the sunshine and quiet and then some really good food. Our server was pleasant, and the young man who took out orders was very genial. Clover Cafe offers refreshingly reasonably priced excellent and varied food. We celebrated our anniversary with some dinner to-go. The cafe is a beautiful setting with interior decor that is comfortable and elegant. My wife had the tenderloin, I had the Spanish omelette, and we both had mushroom bruschetta and a peach crumble for dessert. Everything was delicious, cooked perfectly and the prices were moderate. This is a really nice place. Gorgeous outdoor seating on the deck and in the garden. Their breakfast menu is limited. No Eggs Benedict or Biscuits and Gravy, sadly, but all the food I saw was fresh and well-prepared. I just had the American Breakfast, which was excellent. The one big strike against them is they don't have decaf drip coffee. They have an espresso machine, which is fine but not the same. read more
