We recently moved to the Cameron Park area from Tahoe and needed to find a local reputable and…read morequalified contractor to oversee our total kitchen, bathroom(s), flooring and pantry/storage requirements. We researched all contractors in the Folsom, El Dorado Hills and Placerville areas and came up with three contractors who had (in our opinion) the most positive and consistent reputations. We had all three come out to our location to give us their ideas on what they would recommend including "out of the box concepts" in order to get this project correct the first time. All three reviewed our ideas, added their own opinions and later returned a few weeks later with detailed plans and pricing. Of the three, Barry's Kitchens (while not the biggest or most well-known), showed us a resume of quality installations while also giving us the impression that we would be their #1 priority. Barry, his wife Debbie, son Kyle and assistant John were everything we hoped for. To anyone who has ever undergone a complete remodel (we have done four), there are bound to issues with unknown items that are only "discovered" when you start tearing out walls, floors, etc. Barry and his team were always on top of every unexpected problem---they were extremely responsive and capable of handling every new situation. Even ones that were unfortunately their issue---they accepted responsibility and went over and above to make sure we were happy with the outcome. I cannot tell you how many times I reached out about items that weren't their responsibility and they still dropped everything to come out and fix it to keep the project on-time. Another benefit of Barry and Debbie are that they have been around for decades and are very willing to give their opinion---but only when asked. They don't try to overwhelm you with their opinion---rather, we found ourselves using their expertise to talk us out of dumb ideas (like a cutting board over an internal garbage can, changing the heights of vanities and expanding the overall space in the kitchen), that proved very wise. His list of subcontractors to do electrical, flooring, countertops, painting, etc. were all professional and timely. The final item I would point out is that Barry and his team delivered a high-quality project that was on-time, not a "cookie-cutter" kitchen like you see everywhere these days---and most importantly---did all this while staying on budget! No question: if we were to do another project tomorrow---we would hire this team in a second!

They set clear expectations from the start and communicated well throughout the entire project. They worked hard and were completely responsible and accountable. At one point they accidentally broke a skylight, but instead of cutting corners, they went above and beyond to get it repaired properly and made it right. They also cleaned up thoroughly after every single day of work, which we really appreciated. The finished roof looks even better than it did before. I also want to recognize Jose and Adrian. When the inspector required additional work on the roof, Jose took the time to clearly explain the cost differences so we knew exactly what we were paying for and why. I had a lot of questions about the cost breakdown for the sheeting, and it was pretty confusing to me, but Jose was so patient and kept explaining it different ways until it finally clicked. Adrian set us up with our initial consultation and spent over an hour working through pricing with us to get us a great deal.
