We called Doctor Geigers office and was told she had to wait SIX MONTHS to be seen by the almighty doctor since he thinks it is unethical!! We thought knowing we had a great referral from another doctor I would call again and explain the situation. Keep in mind my Daughter is 24 And has been through a lot this last year! 5 foot surgery's ,tonsillectomy ,back surgery that ended up with her in the Er from pneumonia and almost died before they had to put her on a ventilator!! Then a two week stay and weeks of physical therapy! Sooo rough year!! And she rehernated it from coughing so hard . I talked to Deb the Doctors personal secretary. Explained what was going on at first she seemed frustrated because she gave my daughter the reason which I have never heard of! But she listened and seemed to understand more and asked for us to send paperwork which we did. The next day she called and chewed my daughter out for having me call on her behalf! She stated she shouldn't have been bothered by me calling her because she is TWENTY FOUR years old! And I had no business calling her. She then asked to put both of us on the phone so she only had to explain this once so we didn't call her back!!! Well DEB if you were my secretary you would be fired!! You upset my daughter and pissed me off! No You will not disrespect my daughter and myself!! Think before you talk ! You are rude, disrespectful and a cold hearted person!

He he printed out that list and brought it with us to the offices -- I thought it would be embarrassed by it, but now I know it showed we meant business! We wanted to find someone who would consult with us and respect our decisions on vaccinations and antibiotics. We wanted to veer on the homeopathic side of care whenever possible. We wanted someone who respected the fact that our son was born at home with a midwife. It was hard to find all of this in a pediatrician, but in a family doctor, Dr. Scheerer was the It man. Dr. Scheerer is accomodating, I don't feel like a sardine in a tin can in his waiting room, he sits with you and really listens to your concerns. He knows his holistics but is also affiliated with St. Joe's, so you get the best of both worlds. He supports breastfeeding. He looks like he was in a rock band once, but has pictures of his family on a slideshow screensaver. Also, since he's a family doctor, he can take care of the whole fam. He sees babies every day, so we felt comfortable to have our son under his care. His staff remembers us and it really feels a lot more inviting than any other doctor I've been to. If you really like flourescent lights, a hospital setting, and a sterile-feeling environment, then he probably isn't for you. He is thoughtful, thorough and engaging. His standard of care is among the best I have ever experienced in any of a variety of medical settings. I have several chronic health conditions. He has helped me so much. With each visit he sits down looks over his notes from our previous visits and will follow up on those first and than we'll talk about any new conditions that may have come up. He sits and listens to me no matter how long it takes. He didn't just throw pills down your throat he offers you suggestions and if you tell him you don't want pills and ask him for advice on how to best treat the condition without meds he'll give you recommendations and even books to read to self guide you. If I have a problem prior to my visit I've emailed him on the patient portal and he's always emailed me right back right away. Usually within 24hrs but it never takes that long. When test results come in he emails me with results and concerns and tells me what to do next. We have A great communication system that works best for us when I'm not at my appointments and I love it. I dit know what I'd do without him. I've never been misdiagnosed, I've never been forced to have vaccinations I choose not to have and he's never made me feel uncomfortable able not getting one. I'm even a smoker and while he does lecture me on quieting smoking, he doesn't go over board or make it uncomfortable for me to talk to him about it. When I have a health conditions he just can't treat he has no problems telling me that abs refers me to a specialist. He doesn't run unnecessary test. But if you ask him about if you think you need it he'll give you his input and the two of you discuss it together and I've never walked away thinking gee was he right about that. He's helped so much I wouldn't know what to do without him. He's changed my life on do many ways and I'm so grateful to him for that. His office staff up front might not be the best but I don't deal with them. I don't go there to see his staff, i go there to see him. Plus the other doctor there, Dr. Andersonning, she is great when he's not in and if i have to absolutely get in. I've never had issues booking an apt to get in to see him. He's always available for me. I see him once a month. He recently got new staff and they seem much better and friendly.

At the same time he broke his ankle so severely that his foot laid completely off to one side and his bone was sticking out where his foot should have been. That night in the emergency room they told me that my husband would most likely lose the leg. Thank goodness they had Dr Borden on call. Surprisingly the knee was the most complicated fix. Eight or nine surgeries on that and three on the ankle later, despite a shredded tendon and a massive infection that developed, Brian managed to not only save my husband's leg, it is entirely functional and he only walks with a slight limp. He is simply a genius and I am so grateful to him. One of the things I like best about Dr Borden is his bedside manner. He is direct and strraightforward. He does not sugarcoat anything but he does not take away hope either. He is innovative and does everything he can to treat the injury in a manner that will result best for the patient. He made sure to keep us both fully informed and I really trusted him because of it. Recently when my mom dealt with a bad shoulder that did not respond to treatment she did not hesitate and went straight to Dr Borden He got better x rays done and gave her a clear and more accurate diagnosis, discovering her shoulder was not impingement or a rotator cuff problem at all but rather a frozen shoulder. My athletic trainer at school and I had tried every excersize, stretch, recovery regimine, and resting for months with very little improvement. I went to Doctor Book as a last ditch effort for some relief, and after a few sessions of their PEMF machine I began to feel better for the first time in three years. I used to take a month off off all high-impact activity after my soccer season only to feel pain again my thrid or fourth practice back. This past winter however, aftering coming in consistantly twice a week for about a month, it took me two months of soccer 5-times a week, and weight lifting twice a week to feel any discomfort, without any upkeep on PEMF since I go to college out-of-state. Staff is always super friendly and it is a joy to come in everytime.
