Unique atmosphere with a touch of confusion. This place is not only a coffee shop it also has a frame store within the same space. They have cute seating, black leather minimalist sofas. There was no music or sounds playing when I went and I was there around 9am. We happened to be the only people in there when we arrived an maybe two other people entered while I drank my tea. Which by the way was a lavender, coconut tea. It was actually delicious but I couldn't taste the coconut at all. They have many options on the menu to eat, I missed the menu and was unaware of them and as a result I missed out. Prices where not bad I paid $2.50 for my tea and my partner laid $3.75 for his latte. If your looking for non run of the mill coffee shop in The Daytona area this is your stop. read more

Came in town for Mustangs in Daytona and stopped in for a light breakfast on the way. Semi crowded and the couple before us ordered so much food that I thought we'd be there forever. Nope - within a few minutes, our coffee, tea and bagels came out. Speaking of bagels - home made - absolutely delicious! Loved the outdoor ambiance. A pleasure to bring my little puppy with me to enjoy brunch hot chai and bagels. They don't really have an advertised location or anchor store so this hidden little gem is a remarkable find. Especially as it shares space with art and a framing store. The staff are friendly. And helpful. Although the interior space isn't set up for the best access. Window seats were literally inaccessible once others were seated. We stopped in while visiting from Orlando. Cappuccino and hot chocolate were delicious! Once back home- realized I left my wallet more than 6 hours earlier in the shop bathroom. The employees and owner (even the previous owner!) all helped me figure out that it was safe and sound, and I was able to pick it up the next day. They use coffee from a local roaster and products that are organic and from Florida. They support small business and also minimize waste by using biodegradable cups and cutlery. I'm visiting from out of town and whenever I travel, I look for coffee shops other than the "big box" places. I specifically look for organic coffees and hand made syrups with dairy alternatives. I've been to Gold Leaf almost daily since I arrived and their chocolate dairy free syrup is top notch along with their chocolate ganache. The coffee has a superior flavor and if you are looking for a salted caramel, theirs is good and house made, it's real caramel. The wait is usually a little longer than I'm used to in the NorthWest but I know things are different here in the south. Today I tried their Vegan Gluten Free Waffles which were amazing!! real butter and real maple syrup make for a truly yummy treat. The portion size was just right and the price was just right. First time in, and honestly will be coming back!! The coffee shop itself sits facing Granada next to Frame of Mind Art Gallery which is nice. The coffee in my opinion is reasonably priced if not lower than other places, especially for the quality and type of product they use; buying LOCAL. I had a cappuccino and my wife a flat white, both rich and full of flavor. As I finished my coffee I realized the make their own ice cream...nice! I ordered vanilla and it blew me away. Not your average ice cream; it was soft and melted in your mouth. I'll definitely be coming to Gold Leaf anytime I can and will recommend it to everyone. WOW! They. Are. Rude. Interrupted in the middle of talking with my group and a lady working cuts in "saying excuse me are you ordering?" In an annoyed voice. When we ordered she passively aggressively asked what sizes etc. As if it wasn't her job to ask. We ordered a quiche. We knew it would take longer to cook as it was stated on the menu. She says "you know this takes 20 minutes right?!" loudly and rudely, as she looked at us like it wasn't her job. why work in an environment that is all about interacting with people, when you obviously don't enjoy it or even have the capacity to be kind. When the order was ready she interrupted again. Snapping and pointing at the food she said "excuse me. Quiche!" Just wow. I am absolutely stunned about how rude someone could be to a paying guest or to anyone for that matter.And for all other employees, a hello or a light conversation would go a long way, instead of just looking at your phone, sitting in your own world while you silently put in the order and give the total. This place is a really cool building with some great coffee and beautiful art. But you need to stop trying to act above everyone else and lighten up.
