I had a blueberry pie latte and my wife had the banana latte with oat milk and both were smooth and tasty, not overly sweet. Their food options, like the house-made bagels, are also really good. The place has a nice, relaxed atmosphere with local art on the walls and plenty of seating. Staff is friendly and the service is quick. We stopped in today for a coffee break. Love the atmosphere of the shop! It was nice and clean. * I ordered the 12oz Cafe Latte with Lavender. Very good! * My wife ordered the Bee's Knees Cafe Latte. She loved it! There was only one staff person there making coffee. I think he was overwhelmed a little. No conversations other than "what will you have" and then maybe 10 minutes later it was ready and called our name. Not a problem just felt bad for him because he looked overwhelmed. Gold Leaf coffee has the of the best coffee I have ever had. It is situated on the main drag right before you hit the Granada Bridge with easy parking behind it. In fact, at opening time, which is 8am on Saturdays, which is the time that I arrived, there was already a line of people waiting for their morning "cup of Joe". I'm always looking for a cute coffee shop with a unique vibe whenever I travel somewhere new. Gold Leaf definitely had the vibes! Such a cute entrance from the parking lot in the back with ample parking shared with the framing store. Went 3 times while visiting the area, they make a delicious iced matcha latte! My husband got the cold brew which he said was tasty and amped him up. We tried to order bagels around 10:30 am on a Saturday and they said they had just run out. Not sure how you run out of bagels on a weekend morning? I got a muffin but it was stale. Maybe stay away from the pastries on the counter as they aren't always put out morning of. I had the Dirty Chai, a Chai Latte with a shot of espresso, and the house made bagel that I was lucky enough to get since they sell out so quick. The Dirty Chai had a velvety smooth texture in my mouth and was perfectly sweetened. The house made bagel is smaller than what you find in chain stores, but it's thick and dense. Despite this, it's rather light in the mouth and features a clean, saltiness that pairs perfectly with the cream cheese. I highly recommend the combination. read more

The place itself is beautiful. There are parking spots in the back and I felt like an artist who took a coffee break for 5 minutes and went back to whatever art I am working on. I have been here once before and that was pre-Covid years. There was definitely not a line at the order area and there would only be 1 or 2 people inside and the rest would stop in for coffee to-go. This coffee shop was gorgeous! Every inch of it was aesthetically pleasing, from the beautiful mural, to the wall of fancy frames, to the wooden tables. There was even a wall of AMAZING paintings by a local artist that were on sale! The baristas were extremely friendly! In my short time there, they said hi to several people by name. Seems like the perfect place to live out that dream of "Welcome in! The usual?" that every 20 something book reader has. So, grab your book and run! I guess I should review the actual coffee... I've always heard good things about Gold Leaf but have never gone but am now glad I did!! I got the Caprese Delight Bagel which includes a slice of tomato, mozzarella, salt, basil (which they get from their own basil plant) and balsamic glaze. The bagel itself had some type of sweet (the right amount of sweet) coating which made it 10x better. The Caprese Bagel was a definite 5/5. I also got their White Chocolate Cold Brew with Oatmilk. My friend got the Hippy Hugger Bagel which includes hummus, tomato, and cucumber. Not pictured but she gave it a 5/5! This place has tables, bar seating, couches, and a back room for more space! A great little indie coffee shop with good coffee and super cool vibe and decor. It is located in the two or three block section of old Ormand. Parking is available off the small side street that is on the north side, behind the store. There are a number of good restaurants adjacent in renovated 1920's and 1930's buildings. 63 Sovereign is one I would recommend. Based on a prior review I ordered the Iced Cortado. Moving to Ormond from a "big" city had me searching and craving an artisan coffee shop. I finally found it! The first time we went in I tried their holiday special - a Gingerbread latte (why not?) and it was great. Perfect amount of sweetness, not overwhelming. The next time I had just their regular black coffee - it was heavenly. I love that their coffee beans are local - Steel Oak Coffee (Side note - you can visit this roastery, it's in Ormond!) It's so awesome to see local supporting local! The vibe in Gold Leaf is great too, cool art hanging on the walls and plenty of space to sit back and relax. It's located right in the mix on Granada so you can stop in before you cross the bridge to the beach. There's about 5-6 parking spots in the back. The owner is a super nice guy as well, he was actually working the counter the first time we visited so he helped guide us on what to order & which type of bean to buy to brew at home. I suggested that they stay open a bit later to catch the afternoon coffee folk (me!) and he said they're actually about to extend their hours on the weekends - perfect! read more
