Absolutely every time we take our grandkids to Andy's, they leave with a smile on their face. It is by far their favorite place for dessert when they visit. The sundaes are always reliably good, and I get plenty myself by ordering a kids' size. The toppings are so delicious. I order a vanilla with peanut topping for a sweet and salty dessert that I crave. The grandkids love hot fudge with brownie and vanilla custard. They tell me that they have a regular stomach for dinner food and an extra stomach just for adding an Andy's treat. Reliable and friendly at the drive through, but they also have a walk-up window and a small patio if you'd like to hang out and eat it there. No indoor service. read more

Per usual, the line was wrapped around the building but I was determined! I ordered the BootDaddy Concrete with pecans. I was mistaken with my order but it turned out great. One of my wife's favorite ice cream spots! The custard has a great smooth and creamy texture. If you haven't tried it before, try it! They only have vanilla and chocolate custard, with a variety of toppings for a sundae or concrete. I prefer the vanilla custard plain and simple. For anyone who is lactose intolerant, my wife says their custard is lactose-friendly and doesn't require her to take medication which is a big plus in her book. They can be a bit slow and Andy's is pricey. Most ice cream places have "cake", "sugar" and "waffle" cones. My wife ordered a sugar cone (twice) and she was given a cake cone, which the staff said was a sugar cone. So that's one thing Andy's does that I don't understand. Overall I was shocked I was demanded that I place my order at the drive through line rather than at the window. Even with me explaining previous orders melted ~ like yep fell in my lap. The explanation was its faster for them for me to place my order in advance. So I just told them to forget it ~ I won't return and went to Sprouts grocery store and purchased a box of ice cream sandwiches. Juliana and Morgan ~ you need an abundance of customer service training on how to talk to customers and treating them with respect. What got me you were refusing to provide my order at the window even - it was your way or the highway ~ so Andy's wasn't worth the disrespect you provided. We really enjoy the great that is Andy's. While we took a long time to come around to the cost and limited ice cream options, they really do a lot with it. Please understand you will pay for the added luxuries, but they do not short change you on items or quality. Staff is always friendly and ready to jump in the drive they line to get orders going faster-think Chick-fil-A level service. We love the turtle sundae and variety of concretes and my son loves to swap the vanilla for chocolate Ice cream. Be sure to sign up for rewards for $5 treat discounts after so many dollars spent. Was driving by and saw a massive massive line of cars at its drive thru. My girlfriend told me it was a really popular spot and well known for their "custard". I literally made a U-turn and figured why not because we were just in town for the day and there's always room for dessert! We go to the drive thru window menu and there were two employees standing outside taking orders and helping answer any questions. They were very nice in explaining their menu and the favorites. The menu is actually extensive for just an ice cream... ahem custard shop. We decided on the "bootdaddy concrete" because the employees said it's their signature and most popular. So finally got to the window after a wait (again, massive line of cars) and got our cup. I asked how much it was for just a plain cone on the side and the cashier told me $3. I thought that's pretty ridiculous because the cup of custard was already $6. Anyway finally got our cup of custard and I was so disappointed. I don't think they did a good job of blending the ingredients because one bite would be all caramel or all hot fudge. The vanilla custard wasn't bad, but nothing special. But the biggest disappointment was that the custard was mostly melted. You could had probably drank this through a straw. My girlfriend insisted her last visit here was better and the consistency is supposed to be thicker. I just don't think it was worth the wait and price. The best custard I have had in Dallas thus far!!!! The custard is thick and delicious, there are a multitude of toppings and options. I like that this place specializes in just custard, there is literally nothing else on the menu - impressive. I enjoyed the create-your-own sundae with banana and raspberry while my companion enjoyed the custom concrete with Reese's and cookie dough. If you are a custard fan you know that custard is thick and firm - it is not like traditional ice cream that has an icy consistency. This custard fits the attributes of custard which is fabulous - it is firm and thick - holds its shape. The only reason for a 4 and not a 5 is due to the lack of comfortable seating. The benches are wrapped by the drive thru which means if you sit you have to watch or be watched by drive thru patrons. I am pleased to announce my quest for custard in Dallas has ended! They have a huge menu so I'm pretty sure there's something you can find that you like. Their servings are also huge so don't worry you'll be full after one scoop. This place is great. I came for my first time feeling a little under the weather, so I ended up only getting the vanilla cone. It was delicious nonetheless.
