I am giving Gold Star Limousines 5+ stars today for a trip not taken yesterday. In the stress of not only coronavirus chaos but also learning hours before my mother was actively dying back in Colorado, Here's the story: I was frantically calling around for a ride for my family from Anna Maria Island to Tampa Airport yesterday after the Uber I'd ordered 2 hours earlier never materialized. I'd gotten word my mother was "actively dying" after taking a sudden turn the day before (she has advanced Alzheimers). I'd switched our plane tickets to get us out ASAP- but no one was answering at other limo companies or if they did, they were abrupt and not at all helpful, wouldn't even tell me who would service AMI! I was about to flag down any passing SUV and beg them to take us to the Tampa Airport as time was running out to make the flight! I called Miriam at Goldstar randomly and she was not only the kindest voice I'd encountered, but immediately heard me- like, HEARD me, with my mother dying and all- and figured out what needed to be done/ how long it would take for a driver with an Escalade to be there! She called me back within minutes, the driver had been located and was ready to go!!! I'd since gotten a hold of another family I knew vacationing on the island who had a car and they drove us. I booked Gold star to transport my parents back to Tampa International from Nokomis. First things first, they really do answer the phone! I was able to confirm pricing and make the booking straight away. We received a confirmation of pick up the night before and then further confirmation the morning of pickup. Márcio their driver arrived about 10 mins early but there was no rush to be ready - he was extremely polite and helpful and the car was a beautiful Lincoln sedan which was spotless inside and out. Márcio then texted me to confirm that he had dropped my parents safely at their check in point which I appreciated so much as they did not have phones themselves. Great Limo service. We had a group of 8 for NYE bar hopping and it was terrific and very reasonably priced. Our driver was on time, courteous and professional and took us to several spots throughout town. However, as good as he was what makes them a true 5 STAR company is that we left something in the trunk that night and when I called the next day they not only went and got it out of the limo but Miriam drop it off at my house a few days later. You don't find that kind of service very often anymore! I highly recommend them and will use them again anytime I am in need of a driver. read more

My wife reserved a limo in January for our son's wedding. Their representative, checked calendar for the date and said they were clear for that day. My wife then receives a call that they are now "double booked" and would try to make it work. My wife tried to call to try and speak with someone, but would get no response. Later, she received a text from the representative that they were dropping us, 16 days before the wedding. Guess they got a better offer and we were expendable? Thankfully we found a more reliable company to feel the void. Not a good way to do business. read more

I could NOT be more disappointed with this service. We booked a car to pick us up at 4:30pm to take us to the airport. At 4pm, the woman called us to say she was going to possibly have her dad pick us up instead and take us to the airport. No context?! So we asked if her dad was a driver for the company, and she said yes, he just doesn't drive as often, but she would still try and drive us. At 4:30, when we were SUPPOSED to LEAVE, we received a call that her father was going to pick us up, and he would be there at 4:50. This was cutting it close, but we figured we had no option so we needed to go with it. At 5:05, we called the driver, as he was now 35 minutes later than our original agreed upon time. He was still about 5-10 minutes away, and had us drive to meet him. (Luckily a friend of mine had a car and could take us to the meeting point). So in the end, we had to meet at a different place than the house, and he came in a car that's not even a company car. Then he pulled out a PHYSICAL MAP and started asking US for directions. We ended up incredibly late. They did end up refunding us, but it was still unprofessional. read more
