He talked about his time in Chicago, and hanging out in the bleachers at Wrigley Field, and the economics of being poor, and the important thing is that I was at the airport fifteen minutes early.

At 3:30 AM, despite having a driver assigned and everything confirmed, Uber canceled on us. We were left scrambling and quickly realized that getting another driver at that hour on Sanibel/Captiva is nearly impossible -- something we later learned is unfortunately pretty common. Thankfully, Exquisite Services absolutely saved us. They stepped in immediately when Uber dropped the ball and made sure we got to the airport on time. The professionalism and reliability were night and day compared to our experience with Uber. This was a hard lesson learned: I won't ever rely on Uber for something this important again. Small city rides? Sure. But for airport transportation or anything that truly matters -- no chance. We are incredibly grateful to Exquisite Services for taking care of us when it counted most.

I reserved a ride almost 24 hours in advance and received a confirmation of my reservation, I…read morereceived several notifications regarding my upcoming reservation and safety check recommendations as verification of license plate number, driver's name etc. However as the pickup time approached and passed there was no driver, I only received a notice saying sorry do you want to schedule a ride now at 3 full minutes after ride didn't show up. I immediately requested another ride but it took over 15 minutes to find another ride then another 10 minutes before driver picked me up. I was very late and it cost me a job that day. I find it extremely hypocritical that Uber imposes a cancellation fee if the rider cancels within an hour of the scheduled ride. However they can cancel your confirmed reservation after the reserved pick up time without any apologies, explanation or offer to make up for the extreme inconvenience put upon the rider. To reach customer service within the Uber app is ridiculous and frustrating beyond any reasonable level and I'm convinced now that it's strategic and intentional on Ubers part. They charge an hour prior to pickup time but don't offer a word of remorse or assistance for not showing up or notifying the rider until post scheduled pick up time. How does that make sense?

I took one of these cabs at Sarasota airport and asked them to take me home, which is close to the ringling museum - that's less than a mile (roughly 0.7 miles). I could easily walk that, but I had a heavy bag. My trip to the airport with an Uber cost $5.28. So I thought this would only be slightly more expensive. When the driver dropped me off at home (after roughly 3 minutes of being in the vehicle) he said that it would cost me $25. When I asked to see the meter he said "no meter, just a flat fee to and from the airport". That is just disgrace. Flat fees were introduced to stop consumers being ripped off! All I can say is avoid them. No repeat business from me!

This is a Diplomat employee who steers you to one of their cabs. He will offer to put you bag in the trunk and then expect a tip. Just watch out is all I am saying. The cab driver was ok but the CC machine was "broken". I don't usually carry cash, so he was lucky . Not sure what would have happened had I not had cash. Advice; ask before you get in. The cab definitely was showing its age and the emissions "check engine" light was on. My experience tells me the emissions were not in perfect working order. All this would be less annoying if the ride to Longboat Key hadn't been 30% more than the ride back to SRQ (I highly recommended Yellow Cab for this).

What a nightmare! I called to ask if they do metered runs or flat fares to the airport. Not a crazy question, especially for a New Yorker. The guy told me it's metered and then launched into a monologue about how annoying it is that people treat taxi rides like they're making some major purchase. Maybe I'm nuts, but last I checked, it's well within my right as a potential customer to ask how much money a service is before I buy it. Maybe he should go live in Brooklyn for 10 years and them he'll learn why people ask how much a ride costs before they get into the car. As for me, I'm going to go with a more polite taxi company this time around.
