this place always tells me they're to busy and turns me away ever time I bring my daughter to get her nails done. they never tell me a time they can do them or anything. I've came in there 4 different times back to back on different days and they say the same thing. I don't recommend and they're rude. read more

Okay so I tried this place out as I needed a new place to get my nails done. I got a full acrylic set, with dip. And don't get me wrong, they were SO pretty. I got them done about three days ago, and on the second day one of them chipped. Another two the day after. And previously when I've gotten my nails done at other places.. I have hit my nails against things at work and around the house.. yet they very rarely came off like this. They came off SO easily. The next one cracked and partly came off, and this took off my real nail. It was quite painful and didn't stop bleeding. And at this point I was scared of that happening to my other nails, so I cut them down short. And those were the easiest acrylics I have ever trimmed off. I don't usually leave bad reviews but I really want people to get the best experience. Especially those who are treat themselves. The gel options here are sub par with barely half a ring of color options (plastic nails on a strip displaying color options which are bound by a metal ring). Also the area is very dirty with nail dust everywhere and the technicians are rough on your cuticles. I winced a few times before I asked them to just stop. Technicians are nice but just not very attentive to what they are doing. Also I have never, never had gel chip. I usually get my bails done for special occasions and this started to chip one day after I got them done. I did my regular amount of work nothing special. read more

I am highly upset with this location! My family and I have been going to this nail salon since we have moved here back in like 2006 we have been very faithful to their business and always came back. Even after going off to college. Recently due to pandemic we have been having a change of schedule. One of the nail artist that I typically go to is no longer at this location. The last time I went to their salon I went to this nail tech. This was over a month ago. I recently had a chance to go get my nails done while out of the area and I really like my current design from the old stylist so I go the same thing from the salon in DC. When I arrived back at this location today two of the workers accuse me of going to the nail tech that no longer works there. I can tell they were murmuring about me and the old stylist because as she was talking she picked up my hand to take a good look at my nails. I knew they also had a problem upon my arrive because the owner kept asking where my mother was. After she completed my eyebrows I went to pay at the counter and she literally said "tell ----- I said hi". This was completely inappropriate and unprofessional especially since I have never been to their old stylist salon. I have been to plenty of stylist and nail salons between them but I always stay true to coming back to the salon but after this encounter. They definitely lost my family business. read more

If I could give this place a 0 Star, I would. If you do go in here, my suggestion is to ONLY let Savannah or Hannah do your nails. They are the only reason this place is even in business. The owner does not practice customer service at all and when I was almost in tears over my nails, he told me I was to picky. My first visit was wonderful with Savanah, but she was out of town and today when I walked in, the owner told me to pick a color and then because all they do is dipping, didn't have the color I wanted and told me he didn't have time to make the color like he normally would. Lastly, they are completely out of date on trends, colors and knowledge of nails. The owner actually told me that "in 28 years of doing nails, most people don't care about the actual color of their nails or whether their toes and nails match, they just want them better than their own." I asked for a for a French pink and white ombré and what I got was an American mess. He then argued that I should have show him (the man with 28 years experience) a picture! Waste of money....truly. I feel bad too because I love Savanah, but now I simply refuse to help him do any kind of business at all. Q's Nails is down the street, head there and save yourself a headache! Look at my nails and judge for yourself....crooked, fat, uneven, lumpy, one hand thick, the other thin. Ugh....going to Q's to get what I asked for tomorrow in the last pic!! Gold Star Nails is my favorite nail salon ever. Tippy, the salon owner, has been making my hands beautiful month after month for years. This salon specializes in a dip process, which lasts longer than a month with no chips or breaks. If you do break a nail, they'll repair at no charge. Many of the people who work here are Vietnamese, but most understand English quite well, and there is always someone there to help if you feel there is a misunderstanding. $40-$45 every 4-6 weeks to have amazing nails is absolutely with it. read more

The first visit may have been a fluke. Went back 2 weeks later for a mani, pedi and facial wax. This time the gentleman I had was in a bit of a hurry. His nails looked like they had a fungus. The pedicure barely lasted a week. Very disappointing. The mani was about the same. The technician didn't understand a word I said. It took my lip 10 days to heal from the overheated wax treatment. I've been coming here for two years and have never had any issues until now. Out of all the times i've been here, i had never been helped by the owner until today.. I will never come back. The prices have magically changed.. even though I just came 3 weeks ago and paid what i've ALWAYS paid. They have a new technician who did my pedicure.. i asked for my toe nails to be shaped square.. i got round. I asked for the polish on my toes to be changed to a different color because the owner did to my nails what HE wanted to do and i just want it to match. he states that he would have to charge an additional fee even though i just spent almost $100 in here.. just for MYSELF. i will also no longer be recommending any customers here. i've been a loyal customer for years and i am completely and utterly appalled. read more

However today, i wanted my eyebrows done and i had an older man do them.. he did a rush job and failed to clean my eyebrows up after waxing them.. he didn't offer a mirror or anything he just jumped up and went back to doing nails. Tippy is the owner and who I have do my nails and no matter what crazy ideas I come up with he always accommodates them! Walked into this salon to get a manicure and wanted shellac. The owner tried to push their new "dipping" and was not interested in pleasing the customer. The shellac selection was sparse and the young boy who did my nails did a poor job and did not take time to clean under my nails. The place was remodeling and was very run down. Going here was the worst decision. I alrdy read their reviews and still decided to give them a try...biggest mistake ever! I would say that the language barrier played a part in it but you expect to have some of that. I expressed to them when I first sat down that this was my first time at this shop n to the dipping method all together. They did not make me aware of the $20 price difference. I also expressed I was goin to pay for the service I received either way but I wanted to express how I felt. After I did... no profanity used but my voice was def zero tolerance I paid, received my change and walked out. The younger lady who stated she was not the manager but did all the talking walked completely out the shop behind me to I guess express herself. Mind u I am 7 months pregnant. I turned to verbally defend myself but then decided to go head to my car. At the end of my service my nails were not even and lumpy. I WILL NEVER GO BCK OR REFER ANYONE TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!!
