Been a customer of this store for man, many years! Actually have bough three computers from them…read moreover the years, and their repair costs are very decent, and I've had issues where a problem still occurred and brought it back and they honored the original repair if it was within the same week I picked it up (and the same issue). That said, the PCs you get there are going to be very standard. Many will be the same specs at the big box stores, but will be cheaper, but if you're looking for a gaming or video production PC, you'd be better off building your own or hitting online PC stores that specialize in better systems - looking at a recent print-out for them, a lot of the specs for parts in the custom-built PCs aren't top-of-the-line. If you're looking for PCs to just do your home work or check on emails, maybe do some office work with spreadsheets, then you'll be fine. If you're building a PC, they have some parts on the wall in the rear of the store, but it's not a complete selection, as I've found problems in the past looking for parts there.

I would like to start this review explaining that I always hear people complain about how "mom and…read morepop" stores can never survive with the advent of the "big box" stores and there are many people who will actually boycott the "big box" stores in favor of the little guy. I decided to give this place a try because I felt a neighborhood store would provide the friendly service that most would expect. My HP laptop was just shutting off and we decided that we needed to see what the problem was. I called the store and was told that we would recieve a free diagnostic check. That was the highlight of the experience. We brough the computer in and was told they would look it over and let us know what they find. After a few days we called the shop and was told there they thought it was a virus but needed to confirm. If this was the case, we would be looking at $95. That was worth it. After calling back, they mentioned that this could possibly be the motherboard, a $200 + job where my response was, we might as well just replace the laptop. After a few more days we were told that they believe it was a virus and would have the laptop in a few days. If you notice, the canned response was "a few days". My wife finally called them on a Tuesday and they said it would be ready the next day. She tried calling in the morning and even went to the store. The gates were closed for the majority of the day. When she called back in the evening, we were told that "they were in"!! The gates were closed but they were in, very interesting. We were told that they would definitely have it the following day (Thursday). When my wife asked what happened the day before they told us that there was a "family emergency". So which was it, a family emergency or you were there with the gates down? Not a great business move to lie to your customers. Finally, Thursday had arrived and I told my wife that I would pick it up. It was supposed to be ready that afternoon. When I got to the store, sure enough, it was not ready. It was "90 %" ready which for me was just ridiculous. The owner stated that he told my wife it would be ready between 5-7 which is B.S., as stated, he said the afternoon. I then asked in a calm voice, "is this how you normally do business?" and was told, "yeah, this is how we do business!". No sooner, the owner then got loud with me and told me to take my computer and get out of the store if I am going to yell. Funny, I never raised my voice. In any event, I took my computer home after wasting nearly 3 weeks for nothing. Really surprised that this guy was such a jerk and would recommend that if you are looking for computer repair, try Staples or the Geek Squad. I wish I could give this place no stars!!

In the case of the latter (though wouldn't it be exciting if they also offered vet services?), it was Park Slope Computers to the rescue. A highly rated repair shop walking distance from my house? Yes please. They correctly diagnosed the issue, special-ordered me a new keyboard, installed it in under an hour when it came in, and did it all for much, MUCH less than I expected to pay. And NICE people. My break-related bad luck aside, there's nowhere else I'd trust my computer with.

My iphone 13 screen wasn't working due to water damage…read more I was given 2 options which was $100 or $150 for the quality of the screen. They told me they will call me before putting the phone screen on to ask. I got a call about an hour later stating that the only damage on my phone was the screen. I asked a few times as I originally wanted to trade my phone in with apple, but if it was only the screen that was damaged, I would reconsider. They told me they would use an original iphone screen as they ran out of the better quality screen. I opt-in for the original screen which I paid extra for. I was in a rush when i got my phone and didnt check it throughly. The screen is not original. So if they ran out of better quality screen and my screen isnt original, did I pay extra for the lower quality screen? A week after the fix, I had noticed that the light sensor wasn't working on my phone. I do believe that when I gave my phone in, they told me they would check my phone to ensure everything was working. And that included the light sensor. I took it to the store, left it for a few hours only to be told the "ribbon" was damaged by the "cracked screen". When i told them it was never cracked, they changed their reasoning to water damage. I was given attitude as I tried to reason. The service would be a 1star as I did not get the original screen which I was promised. The service is also a 1star as I was given attitude when I went in for discovering another damage which I was told prior that the water only damaged the screen.

It was practically frozen and a restart wasn't fixing the issue. I was concerned about my privacy and always like to know what's happening to my stuff, so I went for the option of calling in a tech instead of bringing my computer anywhere. I went to Apple they said they can work on it but there a possibility that i will lose all my data. i was not having that. I want to rate these guys because of their very professional service. Carlos (the computer tech that came ) was definitely knowledgeable and got my computer fixed on the spot, which was a surprise since Apple told me they'd take my computer for a full week Anyway, apparently a piece in it had failed and the solution was a hard drive replacement, which took him 3 hours to do. boom I got all my file back and my computer is working like new!. The invoice was $350, which sounded right to me since there were parts replaced, and especially since Apple quoted almost double that price (that's insanity btw). Definitely a thumbs up!
