I went here for prom dress shopping and I had an appointment at 2:30. As I am trying on my dresses, I had someone attempt to help and she had said multiple times that I could continue looking. Once I finish trying on the first couple dresses she told me to go look for more. The time is 350 and i am told that they close at 4. Right when we picked out all these dresses. So obviously we felt like we needed to leave so we did not try on all the dresses she told us to pic out. Then we go to leave and the door is locked and followed us to the door and locked it again. If I could give this Zero stars I would. The experience that we had on Saturday 1/26/25 was nothing short of a miserable, unprofessional and disappointing event. Upon entering for a scheduled appointment for my daughter's prom dress we were greeted with our sales consultant Casey, the immediate impression she exuded was one that she was not looking forward to . My daughter needed a larger size gown for which the consultant took her to the back room showed her where those gowns were and explained the process of picking dresses. Once the consultant received more clients she seemed overwhelmed and distracted. My daughter tried on a number of gowns one in particular that she started with she actually did not like and put away however at the end of the process she wanted to try this again on one more time just to make sure. In trying this dress on one more time she decided that she really liked it and asked if it came in a larger size she then proceeded to ask the owner if the dress came in a larger size once the owner came in and looked at my daughter she looked her up and down turned around and never acknowledged her again nor did she receive an answer as to whether the dress came in a larger size. During this whole visit the entire time we were there I was not impressed one bit. The owner was unwelcoming and seemed very judgmental of thse not fitting the "standard." The Consultants were not friendly nor accommodating. In my honest opinion I would never recommend this location for any young lady especially one that requires a larger size. And aside from needing a larger size I would still not recommend this establishment. I personally felt that we were looked at like we "weren't good enough" to be there. We had an appointment recently, and the stock available is very outdated. There are no new styles on the floor and every dress my daughter tried on had a missing hook or eye, hanging threads, or loose beading. Very disappointed in our visit. This place is awful. To start the parking is horrible. There is no handicapped entrance to this shop. Once inside the place is completely overcrowded. They have gowns jam packed into all racks. The gowns that they want you to pay hundreds of dollars for and they are stored very poorly. They put way too many people in one time slot, the shop is too small and can't accommodate that many people at one time. The fittings rooms are extremely small and if you have any difficulty with mobility there are no chairs to sit on while changing. Most of the dresses are up a few steps. These steps are extremely steep, high and have no railing. I honestly don't know how they are allowed to operate with the lack of handicapped accessibility. It makes me want to investigate the ADA rules. My daughter and I had a horrible experience and I suggest passing this place and finding another shop. read more

My family and I came in to get my sister's prom dress today, first time here. We had a misunderstanding in the beginning with an employee but Lauren, another employee, came to the rescue and made our shopping experience so easy. She's been there for 7 years and clearly knows what she is doing while maintaining a cool calm collected demeanor. I can't imagine what some of these employees deal with which is why we appreciated Lauren's patience. She helped us find the perfect dress, size and fixed any minor alterations that were needed. Parking was awful, and extremely unwelcoming inside for males. My husband was asked to stay up front while my stepdaughter shopped. They want his money but aren't willing to allow him to partake in her prom dress shopping experience. Fathers are also involved in their children's lives, believe it or not. We drove from Delaware to this shop for senior prom dress upon hearing about it online. What a wonderful experience! The selection of dresses is really good and all were so gorgeous. There were about 4 dresses my daughter was deciding between while at other shops we could not find even one she loved. The Golden Asp is a very small store, but they have a huge selection of wedding dresses, bridesmaid's gowns, and prom gowns. I got both of my prom dresses here. The sales staff are really friendly and helpful. I suggest going in January or February for your prom dress before their selection gets picked over. They also only carry one or two of each dress so that girls from the same school don't show up wearing the same one. However, when I got my junior prom dress (a green dress that fit me perfectly and which was perfect for my coloring), they put me on a list, stating which school I was from, so that no one else from my (very tiny) high school bought the same one. Yet another girl from my class showed up with the same dress (which was WAY too tight on her and totally wrong for her coloring anyway), and she got it at the Golden Asp. So make sure that 1) they put you on the list and 2) they check the list before you actually buy your dress. Other than that, though, this place is great. I'd definitely recommend it for prom dresses. I don't know about their bridal selection, but I'm sure it's very nice. The prices are also reasonable. read more

Extremely disappointed since I heard so much about this place. Went here on Sunday with my daughter. The owner meet us at the door and said a young lady would take care of us. Don't remember her name only that she had blonde hair, ripped jeans at the knees. No personality, I basically had to pick out all the dresses for my daughter. I had asked her a few times to please come and help. She was busy talking to a young girl who is a senior. We went to Golden ASP in Bensalem, PA on a recommendation for a prom dress and we were not disappointed! Our dress concierge Hannah was amazing! She not only helped pick out prom dresses based on your likes, but also knew exactly what would look good on your body type. After trying on many different dresses, she helped us make a decision between the final two dresses simple with her sales experience! The fact that they only sell one dress for each particular prom is a great idea! Hannah was on top of the list before the dresses were even tried on-so that was a non-issue! And we were on top of our game-shopping 2 months prior to prom. You have to figure that other schools might have an earlier prom and you don't want to be last in line when shopping for your dream prom dress! We went there today for my daughter's prom gown. We were here 5 years ago for another daughter's prom gown. Both experiences were top notch. Although my daughter five years ago did not buy her dress there, they had a huge selection and the sales associates were extremely helpful. Today with my youngest daughter they did not disappoint. She found a beautiful gown. She as well had many many options. The greeting that we got when we entered made us feel very comfortable, it is not pretentious at all, and the atmosphere is a happy one.Yes it is a small store, yes parking is tight (we parked across the street at Wells Fargo bank, it was a Sunday , So the bank was closed) but the choices are limitless and the prices are on target. Lauren was our sales clerk and she was knowledgeable, professional and had a great understanding of the stock. This place has a lot of dresses. Small location but a lot to look at. The sales associate was very nice and helpful. I tried on about five different gowns and she helped me get dressed etc. They have a 50% OFF sale going on right now. The reason why I don't give them 5 stars is because I took the dress home and one of the breast pads was missing. So I had to drive an additional 30 minutes hours later to go get it. Then, when I tried on the dress at home again I realized that the back of the dress (which is an open back dress) well the hemming/ sewing work was done wrong or the dress was made by them or the other scenario is that the dress was a bigger size and they tailored it. I am not quite sure what it could be but its definitely not OK. I am going to take it to a tailors and see if they can hide it or fix it because when the dress is on it's more visible with movement and the fabric rising. Overall, this is a good place to find a gown or prom dress. I certainly would only shop here during the sale season. or in an emergency situation "last minute" which is why I kept the dress even with the fabric issues I found. They are great people... extremely polite and willing to help and accommodate. It's definitely more of a prom store than a gown store. Meaning they have the gliterry/wow factor all over the store. I am glad I found them and a decent dress for a reasonable price. I recommend this place for sure, just make sure you examine the dress and try it on for a few minutes, walk etc before you buy it and leave the store. You don't want to be going back or noticing things after you are gone. read more

This is an online order, the same company, though! Just want you all to know how they treat online customers: DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!!! They don't actually know what they are selling. They are passing on wrong information to the customers. They have ZERO KNOWLEDGE about fabrics and what the dresses are made of. That was super important to me in relation to size choice. They told me the dress is NOT STRETCH so I ended up with the dress that is too big. And than they ignore you, absolutely ignore you if you want to exchange, even though that was their fault I orderd the wrong size. Dresses are beautiful but the the workers! (specifically -the older ones, I'm assuming the owners) I came in with my teen daughter and my 1 yr old to look for prom dress. I was looking forward to a mother/daughter moment since it was where I got my prom dress but instead I was yelled at. Yes- that's right... by a middle aged woman saying that my 1 yr old was running around making it too noisy downstairs. Funny cause my 1 yr old was sitting in one place the whole time! The best place to go if you are looking for a prom dress! They have an enormous selection of dresses. When you enter the door, you have someone greet you in a friendly way. Then they assign you an assistant to help you find a dress. Your assistant will bring you and help you try as many dresses you like. No pressure and very polite. I won't waste my time going anywhere else. I've learned my lesson going to Marisa's in Newtown where the owner is horrible. Golden Asp will get my business all the time.
