Golden Buffet is one of my favorite stops in the area. For a buffet, the quality is consistently good and the options stay fresh. My favorite part is the pho bar. It always tastes comforting and you can build your bowl exactly how you like it. The grapes here are surprisingly good every time, which feels like a little bonus on top of everything else. They also have one veggie sushi roll that I really enjoy, and the hot and sour soup has plenty of mushrooms, which is perfect for me. The staff is always friendly and quick to help. The interior is fun and bright with lots of orange accents and everything is kept very clean, which makes the whole place feel inviting. There is plenty to choose from and the buffet is easy to navigate without feeling chaotic. I love that there are solid options for someone who leans more toward vegetables. It is nice to have a spot where I can build a satisfying meal and walk away happy. I will keep coming back whenever I want something casual, flavorful, and easy. read more

I decided to stop at this location at a whim. We are staying nearby to see a comedian in Peoria. I was looking at places for dinner and this place showed up. I've never heard of it but it seems to have great reviews especially for a Chinese buffet The location was easy to find. However, there was a lot of road construction during my visit. But getting to this place was very easy. They have a shared parking lot with a lot of stores so it shouldn't be an issue with finding a parking spot Inside the building was very clean and it did look very new. It was bright and inviting. We were seated right away. I did enjoy the huge variety of food and different places. Also, they had some dishes that I rarely see in a Chinese buffet. Before driving back home on Sunday after our weekend golf outing in Peoria, a few of us decided to stop by Golden Buffet for a late lunch/early dinner. The place looks new , well laid out and very clean. It has a wide selection of Chinese food and a few other Asian dishes. From the ashes of many other restaurant rises Golden Buffet. If you've lived in the East Peoria area long enough, you'll remember Grand Village Buffet. At least I do and I remember it fondly. Golden Buffet is the latest incarnation of a restaurant going into this building and I believe all the prior restaurants have been owned by the same family. But, that's a discussion for another day. My dad suggested we grab food here since we haven't had time to hang out recently and that sounded like a good idea to me. We dropped in right at open and many other people had the same idea. The place filled up quickly as we took our seats and waited for some coffee to come out. The lady waiting on our table was very friendly and delivered us some coffee pronto. The first cup was definitely the first one out of the coffee machine as it had a very strong blend to it. Not bad, just not the usual taste you get from your average cup of coffee. The second cup tasted more like a normal cup of coffee. The interior was a lot nicer than I expected but had a bit of a fast food vibe to it. That's kind of hard to explain but the way the tables and seats were set up, it didn't feel like a place you'd lounge at for hours. Once you go, you might get what I mean. There were these robot guys at the entrances that seemed like fun things for kids to take photos with. And the plates had the business name printed on them so they definitely seem invested in this iteration of a restaurant in this building. My dad and I joined the lines at the food troughs and started grabbing food that sounded good. The selection here is a bit pared down compared to other buffets I've been to but there's still plenty of options for everyone. My first plate was a bit light as I was tired of waiting for everyone else to make their food choices. I went back to the table, dug in, and waited for the initial rush to be over. I went back up for another plate after about 10 minutes once I noticed everyone settling into their food piles. Between the two plates, I got a variety of food and goodies. Fried rice, General Tsao's chicken, sweet and sour chicken, some delicious buttery potato chunks, and other items one would come to expect at a Chinese buffet. With the first plate of food, the meats and chicken were a bit dried out. I think this was due to the food being cooked a bit ahead of time to be ready for opening. The second plate had a bit of the same problem but I think it was more of what I just described. The food was incredibly tasty and full of flavor despite being a bit dry. My dad seemed to enjoy every bite of his food, though! It's nice to see East Peoria have a Chinese buffet again. I miss Grand Village Buffet dearly. I do see myself going back during a different time of day to see if the food is a bit more juicy than my experience this first time. I should note that our tab was $44.88 for two lunch prices and two coffees. That does feel a bit high but with it being a buffet, you definitely get as much out of that as you want. The food was okay but when I got the bill it was over 73 dollars like I get every thing is going up but over 73 dollars for 4 people is crazy. We went around 1:30 and left around 3:30 and when we got the bill and was only expecting to pay for the price of entry but NO we had to pay for our sodas as well and Mabye I wasn't think but we thought it would be include with the over all price because of how much it is to just get in to eat but no I guess not but when we went up to asked what the extra charge for the soda was they just told us water was the only free drink and I was a little upset because no where on the price board did it say that, so all in all i just felt upset because pay for those soda felt like a hidden fee and I hate that read more

For a buffet, the food is pretty good. It was pretty busy when we got there, but we were seated immediately and near the buffet. Everything was as we expected until my literal last bite of dessert and a piece of hair tickled my face. Looked at the cake I was about to eat and sure enough the hair was stuck on the side of it. This place used to be a favorite and we're happy to see it reopened. The remodel is lovely! It's bright and clean and comfortable. Service is attentive but not overwhelming. The selections are a bit limited for the hot bar but that means there is a quick turnaround so all the food is reasonably fresh! The food itself is tasty and I noticed it is not overly salty which is fairly common at buffets. Nice selection of sushi! We are so excited to have a GOOD Chinese buffet back at this location. We did have somewhat high expectations due to the old owners from years ago. Overall everything was really delicious and fresh. It was 17$ a person and drinks were $2.50. You definitely can get your moneys worth with the wide variety of foods. They have a build your own phu station with delicious hot broth. A sushi station with all different roll types. Multiple types of chicken, some coated and some grilled. Ribs and different beef options. Tons of shrimp types and fresh oysters. Rice, noodles, fresh fruit, deserts, icecream and so much more. Highly reccomend here and we will absolutely be returning! read more

All in all, a nice meal in a beautiful new layout. I think they are on to something by limiting the number of items so they stay fresher longer. Plenty to choose from for sure, many of the usual suspects in addition to nicely displayed nigiri, a salad bar and desert bar. Hot and sour soup was delicious and freshly prepared for sure. They've got the little extras which I enjoy like sombal, hot chili oil, Chinese mustard, and Pepsi Zero lol. The old fashioned traditional egg rolls were hot and fresh. Nice to have chicken wings as well. Lunch on a Tuesday was fairly busy but I waited for nothing. I was there for an hour and the time flew by. Visited here Saturday and got a to go order of their buffet items. They had a few different items on the menu that I wasn't use to seeing at Kentucky buffets. They had chopped scallops on the half shell and bacon wrapped shrimp. I was a little surprised that they didn't have wonton soup. The service was friendly and very hospitibal. read more

This place is open at last after the location set empty for a couple of years. Sushi is very good with lots of variety. Hot bars and cold ones also have a lot of variety and even at 1:30 pm they were keeping everything fresh. The other important thing is the place is very clean and fresh. Omg! This is the best Chinese food I've ever eaten. It is the freshest and most flavorful Chinese food & best restaurant. Chinese is my favorite and I like to believe I know what I'm talking about. The crab Rangoon was so light and crispy. The sushi was the most delicious, next to the clams on a half shell. The butter potatoes were definitely a keeper. The shrimp was plentiful and a large variety was available. Every piece of shrimp I ate was as if it was made to order. Nothing here was bland or boring. My new favorite restaurant! Thank you. First of all the renovation is amazing! Doesn't even look or feel like the same building inside. They had a super cool statue blaring fun music inside the front entry way to greet us. We went in and were immediately greeted verbally and with smiles. We were seated fast even though they were busy. We were escorted to our table and let me tell ya, the booths make you feel like you are in you very own pod and provide privacy, even though they were packed. The seats are super comfortable too. The flow of the buffet lines are thoughtfully placed for flow. There are 3 stations on the outer edge. Sushi, Stir fry, and PHO. The wait staff was efficient filling glasses and taking away plates, never letting them sit for long. So stand out food items were the garlic green beans, butter potatoes, Rangoon, and sushi. Everything was well stocked and fresh and appetizing to look at. I would definetly give this place a shot. Hopefully they continue and have amazing success. We will be going back.
