Nice little Chinese food place. I had the Singapore noodles and they made it spot on. Not too spicy just the way I like it

this place I've been going to since I moved here 15 years has always been delicious. the last couple times I been there the gentleman has been rude. i always order mixed vegetables with white sauce and sesame chicken. And a side of green onion one time I ordered it came out no green onions and it had brown sauce I told him I wanted the side of green onions and white sauce he looked irritated he brought it out no green sauce onions I asked again I paid for them already he yelled I heard u about the green onions i said so why not bring it out lol he got quiet than I ordered it again weeks later it had chicken in it ! I said something he argued with me than just today I ordered with this young girl she was confused by my order I was patient and gave her a tip and he comes out asked me white rice white sauce I said yes I said I didn't get my soup but I got an egg roll and didn't order it and asked about my smoothie he never came back I looked at my food the sauce was under the veggies they weren't even mixed the sauce was watery went by 15 min I went there I said I wamy a refund for the smoothie and the soup they looked confused than pulled the smoothie out of the fridge I said I don't even want it and I told the guy about his food he gave me 6$ that smoothie was like 10 I ordered 3 different flavors IM DONE GOIN IN THERE read more

My orange chicken tasted old and had a lot of broccoli in it. It was not warm and the chicken tasted spongy.

Ordered take out last night. The food is cheap and very good. This is one of the best spots for my favorite, Singapore Mei Fun. We all have different preferences in the egg roll department & Golden Kitchen has several options which is nice. Hubby had his favorite of shrimp and lobster sauce. He was happy to see that Golden Kitchen uses actual fried rice instead of yellow rice. He throughly enjoyed it. The crab ragoon and wonton soup didn't disappoint either. DELETING ONE STAR REVIEWS. OWNER CALLED ME CRAZY. I had a very disappointing experience here. The food was extremely over-fried and tasted like it had been cooked in old oil, making it inedible. When I politely asked for a partial refund, the owner dismissed my concern and even called me "crazy." Instead of trying to resolve the issue, I was literally waved away. Unfortunately, the food and the customer service were both very poor. I placed an online order. They were quick with order preparation. I was missing 2 of my chicken egg rolls. I called them back and they told me that they will call me back after they check if there are any forgotten egg rolls. I never received a call. I called them back 15 minutes later and the young man on the phone credited me 2 chicken egg rolls for my next visit. I will not be returning. My pork egg roll was fine but when I went to eat my one chicken egg roll, it was SOUR. I hope I do not get food poisoning. The steamed dumplings I ordered were doughy and unflavored. The filling looks like a meatball??? They are inedible. Do NOT recommend. Stay away. They used to be really good but this was an awful experience. Worst customer service on the planet. They don't answer their phone calls. You get transferred to a call center which transfers you to a cell phone that says the customer is unavailable. They want you to order online and take it however they make it or go away.. read more

We are equal distance between this and Min Shi, so we used to divy our outings. Something has happened to this place. I never see my favorite cashier or the cook I am used to seeing. I don't know that it has changed hands, but seems like it. They have a call center that handles their phone orders, and it is obvious they are not aware of wait times for very busy days. This can cause issues. Food is still ok, but service and quality have taken a bit of a hit. read more

We called to complain that we were not happy with the quality of our food ($40+ order). They refused to remake our food, but did offer a refund. When returning the order, the cook came out from the kitchen and stated that they "serve hundreds of people and never have any complaints." Then, he scrutinized the few bites taken out of the dishes, asked for the phone number associated with the order, and banned us from ever ordering there again. The food here has gotten worse and worse over the past 2 years, and they've become increasingly unapologetic in addressing complaints. Good luck! read more

I recently spent some time in Peoria visting some fraternity brothers. For the fellowship I wanted to bring over some chinese food and stopped by this place. The chinese food was really just 'so-so'. Far from the worst I've ever had but not great either. The fried rice wasn't seasoned well. The General Tso's chicken was overcooked and too greasy. I spent nearly $200 and asked for them to throw in a couple of sodas and they downright refused. I told the owner that I thought it was crazy that a customer doing a carryout order that large couldn't get a soda thrown in. She thought about it then gave me a pepsi LOL. Yeah, I won't every stop here again. You can find better Chinese food in Peoria. read more

I ordered 3 items: chicken egg roll, roast pork fried rice, and peanut butter chicken. The chicken egg roll and roast pork fried rice were okay, however, the roast pork fried rice does not have egg or any vegetables in it other than onion. I think a good fried rice dish should always contain egg and additional vegetables like carrots and peas and bean sprouts. It did have a good flavor in spite of its vegetable shortcomings. The peanut butter chicken was a very generous portion, but it was over cooked and very dry. The chicken was so overcooked that it was very dark brown and difficult to chew. I don't think it should have been sent out of the kitchen like that. I think that whoever cooked it should have seen how overcooked it was and remade the dish. Very disappointing. The peanut sauce was tasty, but there was very little sauce for that amount of chicken. I don't know if this always how the peanut butter chicken is prepared, but I will not order it again. read more

I wish I could say how much I truly love this place. In the process of moving and found this place and am so happy I did. The place has excellent food, amazing service, and amazing prices. Got their combination pork fried rice and beef and broccoli and it was amazing. Good quality meat and veggies. Also got an egg roll, which was perfectly cooked! My girlfriend ordered the sweet and sour chicken and she said it was great too. We also got a order of fried wontons which were nice too. The lady who runs the place is great a d the rest of her staff efficient and on the ball. If you are looking for good food at a good price, you can't go wrong with Golden Kitchen! read more

I saw the good reviews on here and that's why I tried this place. Unfortunately I was disappointed. I tried the hot n sour soup & the wonton soup. Both of them were very oily & greasy. Flavor was bland on both. I also tried the combination platter of the all so popular General Tso chicken. It was decent but nothing to write home about. Also a little light and bland in flavor. My favorite place for Chinese take-out in Peoria! I love Golden Kitchen. It has been my go to for Chinese take-out the past few years. Orders are always fast and fresh. The food always carries perfectly for my 10 minute drive home. The go-to dishes for me are General Tso's Chicken, Red Pepper Chicken (the perfect amount of cayenne heat) and Peanut Butter Chicken. Their pork fried rice is my favorite from any place I've ever tried. I love that it is included with the Lunch & Combination Plate specials. Crab rangoon is the perfect blend, not being overly sweet or bland as others can be. Fried dumplings round out my usual selections when ordering extras, and are loaded with flavorful filling. We tend to eat here a lot. We all get the steamed dumplings. They remind me some much of bao and the filling inside is amazing. I get their combination lo mein. It's filled with meat. You don't have to ask for double as there is enough there in each bite. My fiancé really enjoys the General Tso's chicken special. It comes with pork fried rice and an egg roll. We typically spend about $24-$28 on our meal. I can typically get 2 out of the lo mein alone. Worth every bite read more

I have struggled to find authentic Chinese food here. I found my place. Authentic if you have been to Chinatown in San Francisco or China. My favorites are the dumplings, the Hot and Sour Soup extra sour, there is always a lot people getting take out but you can always dine in. I didn't know what to think when I pulled up to pick up my food and golden kitchen is located in a strip mall with not too much around. But I was greeted inside by a cheerful and caring lady who waited to box my food until I showed up just so it stayed warm! The portions are very large and delicious! First let me start by saying in picky. This place hit the nail on the head. I decided to eat in, now yes the place is small but man o man are they busy. I sat here for 25 min and watched 10 people come and go. I began with the egg drop soup which was without a doubt one of my top favorite dishes. It was filled with egg and was cooked perfectly. The General Tso's chicken was nice a crunchy, just how I like it and was laying on a bed of broccoli. Literally looked like it does in the picture. This is hard to find most places seem to skimp on the veggies but not this place. The fried rice synced with the chicken gave me a mouth explosion(this is a good thing) I will be back next time I come to Peoria. Hands down some of the best I've had. read more

We just moved to Peoria from Tennessee and we are looking for our go-to takeout place. This is the second one we've tried and it was delicious! For lunch today I ordered general tsos chicken lunch combo. It was a large portion of chicken that my husband and I could not finish. It came with pork fried rice and an egg roll. The pork fried rice was some of the best I've ever had and the rolls was good too. The fried rice and egg roll had visible chunks of nicely seasoned pork! Yum! The price was awesome at $5.90 after tax. When I got my food it was hot and fresh. It took about 20 minutes for the order. Can't wait to try something else! I definitely recommend. read more
