Went there today very courteous people, waiter was attentive and on top of everything. Person working the desk was nice split a $5 bill without worry and waiter was overly grateful for a small tip. The carpet and tables have been update and improved while also having numbered tables haven't been there in a few years so a quality upgrades. I do enjoy the water fountain pouring when you walk in and the sign shows it's been up for a while which I appreciate. Food is buffet food nothing crazy. Good variety and many options. Came in for a quick lunch before grocery shopping. It's decently priced and offers a lot of options. We got there right as they opened, so we expected everything to be freshly prepared. I wish I could just sit there and eat their food for hours on end... I always think of the movie Defending your life with Albert brooks where he's told in that in between earth and heaven "judgement city" place he's in, you can eat as much as you want and never get full or gain a pound and everything is absolutely delicious... Lin's buffet has been a staple of Morton for decades. It always seemed so small from the outside so I never bothered to visit it. I am glad that I finally did. Upon entering, they have a large selection of traditional Chinese buffet entrees. Nothing was phenomenal, but nothing was bad either. Everything was just "good," and well no complaints there. Servers removed dishes fast, provided timely refills, and one was very nice while the other was grumpy. Recommend this buffet and I plan on returning again. read more

Haha The food was good, good selection in the buffet, sushi, noodles, fried rice, egg roles, 5 different meat and shrimp dishes. 2 soups. Deserts variety was good as well. Ambience was very good. Looks like they very recently renovated. They are kept clean I am a vegetarian. Requested for just veggie fish. The owner agreed to make specially for me. The food was great, nothing was cold and the two plates I got had clearly fresh items both times. The staff did a great job of refills and keeping plates picked up. My wife and I ate at Lin's Buffet last weekend. We had eaten there once before after looking at an automobile dealership. The buffet had been so good the first time that I wanted to see if it would be just as good a second time. Much to my surprise, it was even better! I have to say that I am not exactly a thin guy. I have eaten at many, many buffets, regular and Chinese, in the past 40 years. It may sound over the top to say this, but I am pretty well convinced that Lin's Buffet is the best Chinese Buffet that I have ever visited. All the dishes they offered (and I tried many) were outstanding -- fresh, tasty, made me want to go back for another plate. We were there on a Saturday night and business was booming, perhaps one of many reasons why the food was so fresh. Lin's Buffet will definitely be a regular stop for me if circumstances bring me to the Morton/East Peoria area. read more

Dinner is a bit overpriced in my opinion, considering that it is a buffet and really nothing special to warrant that price. Update: haven't been there in a minute - until I went in with my boyfriend the other day. Looks fantastic! I miss the big chinese mural light up picture they used to have, but the place looks great. Food is still as good as I remember, and now the building matches. They have basic chinese buffet good and a nice variety of other foods and desserts, ice cream cones, etc. Staff is attentive and on top of their jobs. Like I said, I've been going here since I was a kid, so it's nice to see it's still around and doing even better! Normally can be a quiet atmosphere but they get busy from time to time. read more

We were on our way to Peoria for a show & found this place on Yelp. What a nice experience! Pretty decor inside & very clean. The food was quite good, I especially liked the red pepper chicken, fried rice & egg rolls. Pot stickers had a delicious flavor even though the heater under them wasn't working & they were room temp. Went back for the lunch buffet. They have recently finish a renovation of the building. Big improvement. Place wasn't bad to start with, but now looks really awesome. Inside and out. As you first walk in they now have stone walls and a cool little water fall. Food is as good as always and the staff is wonderful. They now have a small sushi bar as part of the buffet. Couldn't do the math on how a good buffet could be in the middle of nowhere east of east of Peoria. Then when I took the exit, everything made sense as it was right by the Caterpillar plant. Went on Friday when I figured most folks were already on Holiday leave. Restaurant was almost full meaning fresh food. Most of the items were well above buffet quality food and experience was exceeded. Service was great and my plates were cleaned soon after I finished. Generals chicken was crispy and not drenched in sauce. The friend rice was actual pork fried rice versus the cheap yellow stuff one sees at most buffet. Everything was clean and overall great experience. One less star for the price at $8.99 for lunch. May be the most expensive buffet I have been to, but for the quality, I did not feel paying $1-$2 more for a buffet. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. read more

Just not the buffet it used to be. The remodel several years ago still looks good, but the food and service have slipped. The "sushi" seems unsaesoned and uninspired. Zero interesting ingredients. I know that rice is not a star attraction on a buffet, but theirs is served from an open pan, leaving it alternately gummy and dry. Perhaps most disturbing, the staff seemed largely just there. I rarely go into this restaurant. When I do I only get one plate which consists of cod, white rice, mushrooms and a little broccoli. Today after over a month of not eating here, as I paid my bill, the Chinese lady who was taking my money had told me in her broken English that I have to leave a 15% tip no matter what. I told her, I serve myself, you don't serve me. I only get one plate not seconds or thirds. She said, It doesn't matter, you have to always leave a 15% tip no matter what. There is no law in the United States that says you have to leave 15% tip. None. So with that, I will not be eating at this restaurant ever again. Makes no sense if I serve myself why I need to leave a tip for NO service.... read more
