I made reservations earlier this week for today (4/19) at 11:30. I made the reservations using the…read morelink on the restaurant's website. I received a text message confirming the reservation. I arrived today, only to be told by the extremely rude hostess that "they don't do reservations on the weekend, just a waitlist, and that my 11:30 reservations just added me to the waitlist." She proceeded to tell me that the wait was 45 minutes. I was confused, I showed her my confirmation text. She said again, "That's wrong." Based on her tone and facial expressions I'm going to assume this was a line she had used several times this Sunday. We left, went to J Macklins across the street and took the 4 people waiting behind us with us as well. They had also made reservations and were told that, "the reservations don't mean anything." I'm not sure what business model Hemingways is following, but it isn't working.

That was already disappointing, but what made it worse was when I went inside afterward and saw those exact same items being served to customers at the counter. It felt like the drive-thru customers were just being brushed off instead of getting accurate information. If items are actually unavailable, that's understandable -- but don't tell people something isn't available when it clearly is. It's confusing and wastes people's time. Customer service and consistency really need improvement here. If you're going to run a drive-thru, at least make sure the information you're giving customers is accurate.

This one has a kids play area, so the main dining area is dominated by families whose kids are running in and out of it. If you are fortunate, there may be a table on the other side of the restaurant you can sit at to avoid that. My one other complaint is that whenever I order nuggets, without fail, and it happened this time too, at least one nugget, is so fatty it cannot be eaten and has to be spit out.
