Just moved to the area and was eagerly awaiting to try this local restaurant. Was VERY disappointed. The portions, even in the take out containers, are restricted and don't fill containers. Wonton soup and eggrolls were tasteless and could have been made of cardboard. The General Tso's chicken was equally as un appealing to finishing. Thought I'd cheat and have a bit of Chinese but unfortunately, it came up short.. They are very heavy on the onions. I ordered a Chicken Curry but it was more like Onion curry with a small spattering of Chicken. Same with the Chicken and Black Bean Sauce.. Didn't seem to have any Black Bean Sauce but you guessed it, plenty of onions. Maybe its a cost saving thing in these challenging times but I've never seen so many onions and so few chicken pieces in a Ciicken Curry. Could've used more sauce but I think the container would leak.. The BBQ Spare Rib pieces were great though. Don't go here. Just don't. I'm not a picky eater at all and this "Chinese" is completely inedible. Go to Panda instead. Much much better.

Keep in mind that we were ordering for a family of 4... We ordered Gen Tso's Chicken, egg rolls, "pork rice", chicken wings, and Roasted beef low mein. Now, the Gen Tso Chicken was completely flavorless AND unseasoned. It looked like chicken with red colored water sauce on it. The egg rolls were decent, though would have been better if they were hot/warm. The supposedly pork rice didn't even have a SINGLE piece of pork in it in any of the trays. The rice should've had better seasoning though, kind of plain. ALL of the chicken wings had raw spots in them, keep in mind we had 3 orders of chicken wings. I ate 6 of those TINY wings before I realized that they were raw. The ONLY good thing we had from this Chinese restaurant was the roasted beef low mein which is what I ordered. This restaurant needs to be checked by the health department and they need to go to cooking school. Wish I could give ZERO stars but one was all I could give. It literally kills me to write a bad review... Even with the worst review I find my self giving a two star!!! OMG, trying to warn you yelpers here. It really deserves a 1 star. This place needs to be checked by health department for real... Food is packaged and frozen. I even saw them drop the beef skewers on the floor from the freezer to deep fryer. OMG are you kidding Sweet n sour sauce was rotten. Fried wontons or stale. The tables were so filthy I now see why they have people picking up instead of eating in. I dropped 60 bucks and ended up throwing almost all of it out. Soup was mediocre at best. The only edible thing was the green beans and chicken dish. They are not nice or friendly either. I'm guessing they feel this is acceptable behavior as they only have 1 competitor in the town. read more

Disgusting!!!! Somehow the chicken tasted like fish. The sauce was strange tasting. Wonton soup tasted like grease and lasagna noodles.

It was the second bad visit to Golden China Express. First about 3 months ago, I ordered a large General Tso's chicken to go, after about 10 minutes it came with 2 sprigs of broccoli, and the chicken had no 'juice' it was dry, barely palatable. Fast forward to last week, same order, but it took maybe 2 minutes, and an order of General Tso's was in front of me, again I took it with faith, and sure enough, not only was it dry, but it was cold, cold enough that the sauce was congealed. I'd swear its an order that wasn't picked up, and it was nearing the health department limit before it had to be thrown away. I will NOT visit here again. read more

We love the food here - their General Tso's Chicken is the best we have ever had! Staff is efficient, if not particularly friendly, and food is nicely presented. There is another Chinese food place mcuh closer to our house but we would rather drive the 5 extra miles to get the food from this restaurant since it is so much better! Ordered Hunan chicken for lunch. It was easily the worst Chinese I've ever had, if not the worst food I've eaten, period. Gummy rice, flavorless sauce -- it was neither spicy, salty, sour, or sweet, it was literally completely without flavor. And greasy, to boot. Plus, it had a ton of limp vegetables and a scant amount of chicken. I wanted to drive back and throw my food at their window, I was so mad I'd spent $6 on food so bad. read more

I do everything I can to avoid the Chinese food here. Do yourself a favor and follow suit. How this place is still in business amazes me.

Golden China has a solid, varied menu, helpful and friendly staff and always quality ingredients. Good food for reasonable prices, and located out in the middle of nowhere where they are tremendously appreciated. Soups are well made, and the food is ready quite quickly.
