Called in our order. I live approx 4 miles from restaurant. Got in car before hanging up the phone. By the time I got there in 9 minutes, our order was ready. The shrimp and lobster sauce was outstanding! We've never attempted Dine in as we moved here post Covid. Every order we've called in was prepared and ready to go. Prices are good. read more

Our daughter had dinner delivered to us on Christmas Eve - a family tradition. So glad she picked Golden China. The food was delicious and generous portions. The chicken sticks and beef broccoli were the best. Moo goo, egg rolls and vegetable fried rice good as well. Definitely will order from Golden China again. read more

I am shocked at the low reviews. I barely ever order take out chinese cause I like authentic sit down much better. However, everything I specified through my DoorDash order was correct. I asked for shrimp and broccoli- light on oil, extra spicy and light on sauce. It came exactly like that. Crisp broccoli, not oily at all. The hot and sour soup was one of the best delivery ones I have had. The crispy noodles were delicious, too. The winner goes to the greasy egg roll. It was the best Chinese take out egg rolls I have ever had. I don't even like these but it came with my meal. It was so good! I will order from here again! read more

Take out only. During COVID-19 they were open but you had to wait outside to pick up your order. Kind of inconvenient when it was cold or raining. They are still doing it. My wife, myself and my father had this for dinner tonight. We called it in and picked it up to bring back to our hotel room to enjoy. Food was ready when promised. Huge servings. Tasteful. Fair prices. Last but not least, the staff were friendly. Meanwhile, they are taking COVID19 very serious at this restaurant. Signs everywhere instructing you to keep your distance. If you're in New Bern and in the mood for Chinese food, this is a solid choice. They may very well have one of the best egg rolls I've ever laid my lips on. read more

I went in at 3:00 pm and only 1 person in there. I waited for a hostess but there was none, I sat myself down and they were looking at me but never came to take my order. After 10 minutes I got up and left. Plus it was about 85 degrees in the restaurant. Terrible service. Rating said 95 but I can't believe it. read more

Having lived in Asia, and in particular in regions with high Chinese populations, I can tell you this restaurant is very authentic. Just like Kowloon you can expect expressionless and surly service if you are Caucasian or not Asian or older. Don't be misled by the tables and chairs. Your order always comes in a Styrofoam container and paper bag. Don't expect to be served ice water, let alone water. Serve youself. Don't forget to get a set of the absolutely cheapest plastic forks on the planet before sitting down, because you can be sure the server WILL forget! I eat here often as the food is cooked by a couple of good Chinese artisans, but don't expect an even moderately clean bathroom, toilet paper or paper towels. At least customers don't have to use a hole in the floor like in Kowloon. read more

We've eaten here several times and not had issues. The food is obviously Americanized Chinese food, but do you really think that Japanese restaurant you eat at is authentic? I promise it is not. I ordered dinner from there last night. My husband's food was fine. Mine, however, was spoiled. I opened the package and the smell hit me in the face. The cook had to ignore the pungent, horrible odor, or his Olfactory receptors are not working. Needless to say, the food was tossed in the trash. The sweet and sour pork was generic; it was balls of friedness that had pork in the middle and there was sweet and sour to dip it in. The chicken lo mein was decent. We also got crab ragoons which tasted "funny." I love Chinese food and it would have to be pretty bad for me not to finish my meal, but I threw most of this one away. Chinese food in New Bern is plentiful,but good Chinese is a hard find. After sampling every take out Chinese in the area. I have found a Golden China has new owners. The Spare ribs actually made on premise,egg rolls are respectively good. Dumplings light. Fresh veggies and nice portion of quality meats. Some of the tastiest shrimp dishes too. The food is decent and the portions are adequate for such an establishment. We had the beef and broccoli and pork lo mein. The broccoli was fresh and the food overall was as expected. No complaints. I like this little joint. I would recommend for carryout. The restaurant needs some updating. I have gotten the general tsos chicken, chicken with garlic sauce, shrimp with garlic sauce, sweet and sour chicken, szechuan chicken, fried crab rangoon, chinese donuts and egg rolls. I have enjoyed all of them! Reminds me of many of the Chinese places that I liked back in NY. I would really enjoy this place if it was a larger buffet!!
