We started with the dumplings, which were perfectly steamed with a soft wrapper and flavorful filling. The China Wok leaves a lot to be desired in cleanliness. They don't wear gloves when preparing food. One guy sneezed, wiped his nose with his hand, didn't wash his hands and continued to prepare food. The food isn't anything to write home about either. The dining room is clean. Unfortunately, that's the only redeeming feature. The food was inedible! Greasy and overpriced. I rarely write reviews and when I do, I try to keep it positive; but I am so disappointed and frustrated that I wasted nearly $20 for nothing. Rangoons too sweet. Gravy is bitter. Not even the soda fountain was good. I asked the hostess to check the syrup/CO2 mix. She shook it and said she just changed it and to run a new cup. ... It still was awful. The sprite tasted okay, but hardly had any fizz. I'm sorry to be so blunt, but even sorrier that I tried this restaurant. * I will add that I got up the nerve before leaving to complain about the food and the hostess gave me a refund without making me feel like too much of a heal. read more

China Wok is heaven sent! We order here regularly and have never been disappointed. One of the only local places that still serves just "regular" egg rolls without all the weird added ingredients in them. Customer service is always great, food is consistently delicious, and the prices can't be beat! read more

Got take out last night and probably should have kept driving by. Both soups we got (WonTon and Egg Drop) were absolutley bland. The dried noodles with the soup were stale. My chicken Lo Mein was virtually chicken less and my wife's shrimp dish was served with shrimp that still had the tails and were not deveined. Not going back here! read more

Food was not very good. Our order included fried cream cheese, teriyaki chicken and sesame chicken. The sesame was ok but the teriyaki was bland and came without sauces or fortune cookies! We were supposed to get 6 friend cream cheeses and only had 5. So food, flavor and accuracy get a 2/5 read more

China Wok is in a strip center along with Food Lion, a dry cleaner, a sports bar and other things. We've ordered from China Wok many times. The food is consistently quite good. It is ready in minutes and the prices are certainly affordable. For take out Chinese I'd say it was the best in New Bern. You can also eat in although the atmosphere isn't much to write home about. read more
