My wife and I stopped in to eat on 8/15/25. The food was just sad; little to no food in the pans, and the steak area was very sad. The steaks that were there were overcooked or just small and thin. I understand it's a buffet place, but they need to do better for the price you pay. The place was hot and unbearable to eat in the AC, said 61, but there was no way it was 61. Outside was hot and muggy, and it felt better outside than inside the restaurant. Our waitress was very nice and even complained about how hot it was and apologized multiple times. So after paying 71$ to eat they for 3 adults and a 7 year old they tell us to sit on a specific side because it's cooler and failed to mention that the air conditioner wasn't working. It was so hot we couldn't even eat . When we spoke to a member of the management team and told them it was to hot to even eat she told us they don't give refunds ..they should have told us the air conditioner wasn't working not working when we arrived. I went the just after 1 pm today 9/27/2025 and started out with a salad took a couple bites and saw something weird picked it out and there was a whole ass bird feather in my salad, not a small one either. We found someone she took it in a napkin and found another employee and she asked which salad bowl I got mine from and then walked off. The First Lady did say sorry that happened but that was it. I used to really enjoy eating at Golden Corral, but for at least the last 6 months the restaurant has went way downhill! Almost every time I have been there recently to eat with my daughter, a lot of the hot food is cold or dried out, or they say they don't have any more, but still leave the dried out, unappetizing food on the bar. (Examples: Sweet Potato Casserole, Roast, mashed Potatoes, Macaroni and Cheese, Pizza...) The dinner rolls that in the past were soft and delicious with Honey Butter, are now, hard every time and there is never any honey butter, even when I ask for it. The dessert bar is never completely stocked, and I ALWAYS HAVE TO ASK FOR SEVERAL DESSERTS THAT ARE EMPTY! Then, the waiting game begins. The soft serve ice cream machine is out of order more than it is working. The worst thing that I have experienced at Golden Coral in Lafayette Indiana has happened to me 5 separate times! I have found someone's hair in my food. When I reported it to my server, they apologized and showed their manager my plate with the hair. Only two different times they offered me a free meal for next time. The other three times it has happened, the manager didn't even come to my table to see it or to speak with me about it! They just shrugged it off! The owners of this establishment need to know what has been happening and do everything they can to fix the problems and make this Golden Corral a Fantastic Place to eat at once again! If they don't do something quick, I feel that this restaurant will be closed down by the Health Department. I arrived in Anderson Indiana from Bloomington for a volunteer service commitment and was staying in a local hotel. I went to Golden corral on June 11, 2022 about 6 PM with my service dog to get something to eat. I am a disabled veteran. I had forgotten my service dog vest but I had his credentials. I was told by Kathryn Lehman, associate manager that I could not enter the restaurant with my service dog without a vest. This is entirely discriminatory according to the ADA! when I told her It was discriminatory, she argued with me. My dog is a certified service dog and not an emotional support animal! Seems like your basic Golden Corral, except my mother who usually loves it, found a bug on her plate, she's not sure which item it was in with, possibly the brussels sprouts. Good all-around basic buffet. The Lafayette one is always clean and the food is always good as buffets go. I don't get the hate by a few reviewers...like with any restaurant if there's a problem you take the initiative to bring it up and it's fixed. Not much food variety anymore, chocolate fountain is gone, staff service is horrendous, had got my food and everything before they even brought out drinks, and had an empty cup for 20 minutes and never got a refill. Overall terrible service. They have too few staff and have each one doing too much that you don't get good service and it just ruins the experience. The past two or three times we've been there the food has been less than tasty, dry or overdone. Waiting staff and the cashiers have not been very connected with customers with the exception of one dark haired lady who waited in us and agreed that they have trouble finding help to staff the dining room. Specifically people who are outgoing and conversant with customers. We asked for "no ice" when we ordered two different trips and the cashier didn't put it on the ticket. I really like the manager who is Pakistani to think, but twice we were there when he wasn't and it was less than satisfactory, food in the warming trays looked dry or were mostly empty. after looking at the reviews, i was nervous to bring my family here, especially at 12pm on a monday, but the food is pretty decent and hot which is nice, the service was also quite nice the counter though it is a bit on and off with the servers, checking their phones. although the servers are quite attentive and fast when replacing drinks. the selection of food is not bad (mostly american) and the price is also quite good. dessert is also quite good! read more

Not bad but even though it's a buffet, the selection seems limited. To be fair, it's pretty cheap to be a buffet, but you might find yourself eating the same few things if you don't like the other selections. I'd go back just because of it being a buffet so you will find something you like. My waiter was super nice and took care of me so no complaints there. read more

i went a few months ago when i was visiting the city. it was the absolute worst dining experience i've ever had. the quality of the food was not even decent. the environment was disgusting, and food and trash was left everywhere. i had to search for five minutes just to find one clean plate. i seriously doubt the cleanliness of the actual utensils used to even grab the food. i saw a kid put his mouth on the slushy machine and the tongs. nobody else seemed to see it and it probably wasn't cleaned until the restaurant closed. if you're in lafayette, i certainly suggest you just drive past this place. read more

This restaurant is, to use the words of my child, "shady." It is *very common* to see several people openly carrying guns (non-law enforcement) at this restaurant every time we go. It also seems pretty popular with people who wear confederate flag clothing or have the confederate flag somewhere on their car. Not exactly a 'friendly' atmosphere. Normally I think of Golden Corrals as nice family restaurants. I'm not sure why, but this location is pretty run down and sketchy. Staff seem overworked and exasperated at any request (ie - you're out of dressing. Can you get more? Would result in an eye roll and death stare. read more

What a disappointment!!!!!! Last time I was at a Golden Corrals the service and food was excellent. This location SUCKS! The ribs was really dry and the worker didn't bring any more out until we asked. They ran out of vanilla ice cream and we were told they didn't have any left. They ran out of bread pudding and we were told it would take 45 minutes to make a new one.
