We've been here a handful of times now and have tried an area of items across the menu. Went again last night and within the MAYBE 5 minutes I waited for pickup, at least 15 other people came in and out doing the same. I was shocked at first by this stream of customers until we got home and were reminded this is the best in the area. We always order togo so can't speak to the dine in service but the pickup is always hot, fresh, modifications/spicy level are correct, and receive a friendly face at the door! I really like the vegetable lo mein, but other favorites in the family include the steamed potstickers, any of the chicken options and the fried rice. read more

I had the Szechuan beef with fried rice and wings lunch special. Wings are crispy but minimal seasoning. Good with some sweet and sour sauce . The Szechuan beef was delicious and the fried rice good as well. Restaurant is clean and the service very friendly. Ate everything too quickly to take photos lol. read more

Ordered from here for the first time, the sesame chicken is anything but sesame chicken. It was sweet and sour chicken with sesame seeds sprinkled on top. The whole meal wasn't a disappointment though; the house fried rice was by far one of the best I've ever had and the amount of meat incorporated into the dish was surprising. I had forgotten why I never order from here but was unfortunately reminded last night when we did a curbside order (of almost $50 of food)! Their lo mein is not the traditional wide, round noodles but come with thin, ramen-like noodles. This being the main Chinese food my kids will eat both orders of this crappy lo mein didn't really get eaten. The second disappointment came in the form of their potsticker sauce. This being the only other Chinese my kids will eat we did two orders of them also. The potstickers were subpar but still edible, however their dipping sauce tasted like watered down nastiness. Having tried at least a dozen different potsticker sauces from both frozen meals and restaurants from here to the west coast they have by far the worst I have ever tried! We actually dumped it out and made our own. When I order lots of food to feed my family I expect that I shouldn't have to cook - sadly, the quality of GC food last night meant I had to cook anyway. And wasted lots of money! On a more personal note, my favorite part of Chinese are the fortune cookies, and we got none! I have never ordered from a Chinese restaurant and not received fortune cookies, until last night! The only positive was their beef and broccoli was very delicious. This is my new favorite Chinese restaurant. They were slammed on Christmas Eve and handled it well--and the food was 100% worth the wait!

Comfortable atmosphere and delicious food. I've never had cream cheese wontons before. They are quite delectable! The pepper shrimp was quite delicious and hubby's garlic chicken was great too! Good sized potions too!! We'll definitely be back. Highly recommended!! (Main downfalls: high fructose corn syrup, no crab Rangoon and, as is par for the course around here, no stout beer) read more

I ordered from here 13 years ago when we moved to the area and thought never again but I couldn't get through to Sky Dragon so gave this another shot...I should've stuck to my convictions....sesame chicken was hard fried chicken pellets with a bunch of overly sweet sauce sprinkled with sesame served on the side. I think it was sweet and sour sauce repurposed. It was a weird pink/red color. The dumplings were hard and overcooked. The pork fried rice had one piece of pork on it. The lo mein was ramen noodles with two small pieces of chicken on it. The egg rolls tasted overly of 5 spice powder. The hot and sour was so disgusting, it had the consistency of elmers glue. I dumped it down the sink. The people who work here have to know they are serving substandard food. I'll stick to Thai Basil or Sky Dragon if I need an Asian fix. read more

Ordered a Small Shrimp Fried Rice, Egg Fu Young, and Sweet&Sour Chicken threw Door Dash. The food arrived on time and warm, but when we tasted everything it was EXTREMELY SALTY. Salted to the point that it was not edible. I called back to drop off food and receive a refund, but I was told I can only receive a credit on more salty food with my next purchase. Asked for Szechuan beef w/pea pods, spicy level 4, hold the water chestnuts - didn't come close. Called to let them know and the girl said she was sorry and wanted to take care of us... got my name and number and then never called back. The food was so awful and we think it's made us sick because after we choked it down we spent the rest of the day in the bathroom. NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN. We gave this place several chances, because on occasion we found this-or-that item to be pretty good; BUT, on the whole, they're lame because they over-salt the ever-loving crap out of almost every dish they make. Even as I type this I am eating leftover Cantonese Special Chow Mein because I need to eat something before I go to bed and I am really hungry, and it's very frustrating because I can barely detect any flavor beyond the salt (it wasn't any better the first time, either). I know the flavor is there, but it's almost completely overwhelmed by the salt. Don't bother with their appetizers either, though if you *must* have an appetizer, the plain chicken wings are reasonably decent (but way overpriced). I'm giving this place two stars because it's not quite awful enough to get one star. It's damn close though, so don't say I didn't warn you. P.S.: Hey Golden Crown: cut the fuck back on the salt/soy sauce/etc. and then maybe people can enjoy some flavors. I have always been the worlds pickiest eater. Golden Crown is one of the only Chinese food places I have ever been able to find a few different things to eat on the menu. Now you can take the word of the gentleman who looks like he's wanted to be an asian man his whole life, or from the pickiest eater in the world. I love Golden Crown and it's the best Chinese food in the area. PRO: Our orders are consistently good. The Mongolian beef, beef and broccoli, fried rice, and cream cheese wontons are all fantastic and are regular orders for us. PRO: The restaurant is clean and comfortable, with plenty of parking. CON: My only complaint is the take out service. We probably order take out twice a month from here and, unfortunately, have something to gripe about almost every visit. The owner and female employees have always been great, but there is a young, male employee working the front desk who can be difficult (and this is based on multiple interactions, not an isolated incident). He clearly gets flustered when the restaurant is busy, and can be rude, in turn. I understand being under pressure, but customer service is your job. TIP: If ordering takeout, be sure you are physically waiting in the restaurant. If you leave, even for a moment, your order will get bumped. I don't quite understand the ordering procedure there but it's NOT first come, first served. I've placed small orders only to have multiple walk-ins order after me but get their food first. TIP: I order Mongolian beef with NO vegetables. This way you get a hearty serving of beef. If you order with vegetables, you'll get 80% vegetables. Order from any female employee and you won't get charged extra for "no vegetables." Order from the aforementioned male employee and he'll charge you $2 extra for the no vegetable request. read more

This is a regular place for us to order take out or some times dine in. Food can be hit and miss but if you order the right item it is pretty good and satisfying. My exp has taught me to stick with tried and tested items like, lo mein or choemein, fav is fried rice extra hot. Best Chinese food in Stillwater. Golden Crown has been around since I was young (I am 46 now). It's still family-run. There's no Chinese food like this. I recommend the Moo Goo Gai Pan or the Lemon Chicken. Shoot, everything here is good. Oh, they are closed Mondays like the other Chinese places in town. read more

This is my wife and my favorite Chinese place in the area! The include the sauce separate so the chicken is crispy when you get it home. We eat the orange chicken with double stuffed cream cheese wantons and egg rolls. Everything is excellent! Highly recommend this! read more

Do not eat here. We are from out of state. Ordered some combination meals. Fried rice was the most edible item on the plate and it was overcooked. Sweet & sour portion was small. The egg rolls are excellent- crispy exterior and nice crunch vegetables inside just the way they should be. Kung Pao chicken was good but I wish they made it with red and green peppers with the real hot peppers on top instead of bamboo shoots and water chestnuts. Hubby had sesame chicken the meat was great and fried perfectly he liked it a lot I thought the sauce a tad sweet but it was good Service was good but the server was not too friendly. Been going to the Golden Crown for many years. The food is very good. The service is good too. They used to give you great proportions at a great price but sadly like so many restaurants now days they have increased prices (a lot) and cut the portions by about 30%. My husband stopped by this place on our way home. Located right off Hwy 36 it is pretty easy to get to and the parking lot was big. Tables and booths were available and they had several TVs around the restaurant to watch. I ordered the beef and broccoli and hubby ordered the orange chicken (i think?), anyways we both liked what we ordered. We also had to try the double cream cheese wontons and fried rice. I especially liked that my dish had the right combo of broccoli and beef. At other places I have been to there is more veggies than meat sometimes.
