    Best Chinese place in town!!!
    Frida E.

A Family Favorite for Decades! We've been loyal patrons of Peking since it first opened in 1970, and it's still our go-to spot for delicious, comforting Chinese food. The service is always warm and friendly, and the quality of food is consistently amazing. Despite inflation, the prices remain surprisingly reasonable. The cream cheese wontons are unbeatable--packed with a generous amount of cream cheese and always crispy. Other favorites include the flavorful fried rice, mouthwatering egg rolls, beef Cantonese, and chop suey chow mein. We highly recommend this place and will continue to do so for years to come! Pro Tip: They only accept cash or checks, so be prepared!

Walked in, and we were cheerfully greeted. The restaurant was clean and pleasant. Had a decent sized menu. We ordered a couple of their combination meals. The chow mein was good, the fried rice did not have much flavor, the chicken wings were excellent, and the cheese won tons were greasy. Overall, a mixed dining experience. Definitely had worse but have also had better.

We have been patrons at this place for several years, and we have never had a bad meal. Take-out is as good as dine-in.

Wontons are larger than most places. They can be busy (because it's so nummy) but they get it out timely. Take out is still great on arrival and still taste like new if you want to heat up later in your week for lunch. There are a few tables inside but not really a dine in place.

They were super busy for takeout while we were there dining in. So don't plan on eating here if the tables are full. The food was hot!!! I love my food steaming hot! Flavors were great!! Pho was a bit sweet. I would pass on that next time. Chow fun was one of the best I've ever had. Lemongrass chicken was really good and not easily available at other places so I would go back just for that. Chicken wings were so hot and crispy! We ordered them spicy but they were not spicy. The sauce was more sweet and sour. Ask for chili oil but be careful and only use a little because that is spicy! They do not have tap water, bottles available for purchase.

The server was very friendly and informative, even joked around with us a little. It didn't look like reservations were needed, except maybe on busy days like Mother's Day. The food was amazing. Potstickers were, of course, super good, but so was everything else. Portions were generous. I got the pork belly fried rice and I think I have enough leftovers for another three or four meals. There is a small parking lot in back, but you have to walk around the building to get to the door. I would say it is not handicapped friendly. If you park in back it would be hard to get to the door unless you are able to make it half way around the block. If you park in front it is just street parking. My dad uses a walker and we were lucky enough to get a spot right in front of the restaurant, anything else would have been a problem. Spacing inside the restaurant is pretty tight as well. Once dad sat down they had to take his walker into the back because there was no room in the seating area. We were packed in pretty tightly and very close to the table next to us. Overall, delicious food! We will be back!

As soon as I mentioned my allergy to our waiter, Alex came out personally to talk with me, and that meant so much. He didn't rush the conversation at all and he really took his time to understand my concerns, explain the menu, and walk me through what would be safe for me to eat. What really stood out was how careful and attentive he was. He made sure my dish was prepared separately and customized specifically for my allergy, and he reassured me that everything would be handled safely. That level of care is rare, and it made me feel comfortable and genuinely taken care of. On top of that, the food was absolutely amazing , fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can tell they really care about quality. The atmosphere was also great, with a fun vibe that made the whole experience even better. If you have any kind of food allergy or dietary concern, I highly recommend this place. They go above and beyond to make sure you feel safe while still enjoying incredible food. I'll definitely be coming back!

The only person eating inside the restaurant was the cashier, which we later came to find out would be our chef & our server also! It was just 2 of us and we wanted to dine-in. Found out that there is a 6% charge to eat in. Plus there is a 4% charge if you use a card vs using cash. Alright, back onto the order, we ordered a couple of entrees and a couple of boba drinks. You pay at counter before you sit down and although the gentleman was very nice, he was really slow. I could not imagine, how they would do, if there were multiple people who were wanting to order. From putting in order to paying, am guessing it took the gent about 10 minutes, not great! The dine-in experience was not great. Floor was sticky, actually very sticky at certain spots. Bathrooms were icky, i just went in to wash hands. Was really hoping and rooting that food would make-up for the experience that we had so far but of course it did not. Both the entrées were really bland. I don't think that it was possible, but somehow they made Chinese food not have a taste. It was as bland as it can get. We doused salt & soya sauce on the food to give it some taste just so we can eat it. Remember the boba drinks that we ordered, we did not get them until almost we got done eating and were ready to ask for to-go boxes. I asked our cashier/server/chef what's taking this long for the drinks and the again very polite & friendly gent told us that he has not made one before so it took him some time to figure things out which explained the yelling & screaming that we were hearing coming from the kitchen :D I do not recall ever having this kind of end to end experience at a restaurant. I wish the restaurant the best, but honestly, i am not sure how long they will be able to survive, if things do not change.

The food lacked flavor and there was hardly any meat in the beef lo mein I ordered (see pic with almost no meat). It doesn't need to be littered with meat but it's comical to say it's beef lo mein and I joked that I can't even call it vegetable lo mein cause there weren't many onions or much else in it either. Service left something to be desired. From the moment you enter the building, you get a sense that customer service is not their forte. Not that they were rude, they were not. But there's nothing there to draw you back in or feel like you've been welcomed into something special. I wasn't greeted when I entered or at any point but told that they would be right back, and went to the kitchen. The packaging of the food needs more forethought and I implore the owners to do better. I ordered Orange chicken and a sweet and sour chicken dinner plate. I can only assume that the battered chicken labeled "orange chicken" was supposed to be for both meals as they did not do anything to indicate or clearly state if the meat was for both meals or if I was supposed to get a separate container for the dinner meal as one would anticipate - it was just a large container of chicken. This could have been resolved if the owners or whoever was working had the customer service skills to communicate this. A simple sentence and conversation to explain their packaging would have been a nice minimum but it seems they don't want to talk to customers. Not only that but they decided to pack the bright red and bright orange sauces in those white take out boxes that are clearly not for liquids. Imagine a quart full of orange, liquid goo going all over because they didn't tell you that they decided to pack a huge container of said liquid in a non-liquid container. The fact that they don't see that as a problem says a lot about how much they know or care about running a restaurant. I don't think I'd ever want to return even if I was desperate. I hope that they can work on their customer service skills and rethink their food packaging.
