Best cake donuts in Anchorage hands down! Tough location to get to in busy traffic-on the the corner of Lake Otis and Tudor- but still worth the slight hassle. A drive thru makes it easy to grab and go with a coffee if needed. read more

It says they are open 24/7 but apparently they close at 3P on Sunday's and do not open up again until Monday night/Tuesday morning. Something my husband and I did not know until we drove all the way there and saw a small sign stating same on the door. So disappointed! Best donuts in town. Always a disappointment when a special trip is made and they are closed without explanation. The locked door said closed at 3 today and it was 2:21. Beware that their posted hours are not necessarily the hours of operation and make sure to call before heading over. read more

Slightly dirty, and the doughnuts weren't quite up to the quality I was expecting. The cake doughnut was very dry. The glazed was nearly flat. The taste was OK though. Good 24 hour drunk food, but not much else. read more

The donuts are not bad (not great either) but that's not what this is about. The customer service is horrendous. I've gone there on three different occasions now. First time, I had no idea what anything was because nothing is labeled. As I was asking the girl what was what she just walked off into the kitchen and didn't come back or say anything. Second time, everything was stuffed into a bag making every donut squish and mix together. Third time, I attempted the drive thru and as I pulled up and was looking at the menu, she sticks a note on the window saying out of donuts without saying a single word. No business should ever treat their customers as an inconvenience or annoyance. read more

Golden Donuts are definitely the best donuts in Anchorage. Dino's comes in a distant second. Why? they both make their own dough, but GD has a better recipe, I guess. All the box stores get their donuts premade and frozen stateside. They let them rise in "proofers" and fry them here in their bakeries. Not a good donut. These Golden Donut guys are open 24 hrs, except for when they're on their month-long summer vacation. Its a bummer. They finish the cake donuts around midnight, and the raised start coming out around 1 am. I don't usually like Old Fashioned donuts, but Golden Donuts Old Fashioned, right out of the fryer, are amazing. Warm, moist and soft in the middle, crispy feathery edges with a translucent frosting. They lose that crispiness after a couple hours, so you gotta try them in the early am. The raised glazed are my favorite. So fluffy when they first come out, they are likely to collapse if you handle them too much. delicious. These plain (ok, golden) donuts are in a class of their own. No one else comes close. try a midnight run. maybe 1 am. its awesome. Tell 'em Roger sent you. read more

All I've got to say is Old Fashioned Glazed Doughnut. This is my favorite place to go at any given time, you can go to the drive through, or go inside and it's a very nice, quaint environment. I love going there with friends and sitting for a while. In some sense, It feels very homely. I definitely recommend this place to families, friends, or even if you're going by yourself! It is place of no judgements and the employees are very adequate. read more

Would be awesome to try these donuts....been 4 times, all different times of the day, and they're always sold out. How is this possible? The place is 24 hours. Aren't they consistently making donuts?? How long does it take to make a donut, isn't it just frying some dough?? Pretty good donuts, if you can get them. Always has the open sign on but don't let that fool you, they're never actually open. The past 6 times I've tried going here, varying days/times, this place was closed or "out of donuts". Their online listed business hours claimed they were open or the actual neon sign on the front of the building said open. Won't be wasting my time and gas anymore. Let's just say the donuts aren't worth the price! Half dozen glazed with a few donut holes was $10. In Texas that would be about $5.

First time at Golden Donuts, this place has the best donuts with an awesome selection. Brought my toddler and she was welcomed and spoiled rotten. Wonderful place to spend time with your kiddos and enjoy coffee and donuts. Thank you for the wonderful service and making us feel so welcomed, we will be back. read more

Good donuts but HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I hope the owners read this review. My wife and I stopped here for the first (and now only) time for a cup of coffee and a donut. Went up to the counter to order. The only employee was a girl with blue hair. She just stood there looking at us. No "welcome" or "may I help you". So i asked her about one of the donuts and she literally rolled her eyes at me and said that it was "uh, creme filled", as if I was inconvieniencing her. As she rang us up my wife noticed that someone had left their sunglasses and keys on the counter. I told her and she sneered "you're like the 5th person who's told me that". So it'd be too much for you to ask the 4 customers sitting down if they left their keys there? There was hardly anyone there and apparently she couldn't care less about the customers. As we were sitting down an older lady was getting ready to leave and I could tell she was panicking, looking for her keys. I told her they were at the counter. If the owner is reading this, you should teach your employees some basic customer service skills. We loved the donuts but will look for another donut place. read more

Good donuts, large variety, friendly service, and open 24 hours. This place gets 5 stars for overall great donut shop. The only down side is if you go late and get the older donuts, so try and time your visit early morn and get them hot :) read more

Imma be honest, Golden donuts is solid, they always come through with some light fluffy donuts when me and my boys are out prowling in the city streets. they're not the best in town, but they're there when you need them most. You will NEVER find donuts like these when you're on that late late. Plus if you tryna SMASH you know you can find some boys in there going hard with the N64. Its vibe and if you're really with it you'll get it. read more

The donuts are always delicious and we've never had a bad experience with the owners of workers. Sometimes they are very busy and don't have time to chat but I always figure good for them! Stopped in this morning... the first visit in probably 10 years... and definitely my last visit. My order was simple... two donuts and a half-caffeinated Americano. I have never had so much trouble ordering a drink before, or been treated as rudely for having the expectation of having my drink made correctly. In the end, I tossed out the coffee, which was undrinkable. So, $4.40 for two "meh" donuts and a cup of a crappy attitude... no thanks. I'll go back to Dino's, where the donuts are great and the staff is friendly. read more

Went here twice. The first wasn't that great, but the second time was pretty good. I got a dozen which is supposedly a better deal. My favorite were the glazed donuts and the apple fritters! They were just as good as Krispy Kreme from the lower 48! read more

INEXPENSIVE, GREAT-TASTING, & OPEN 24-HOURS. Doesn't get much better than this. Oh wait -- yes it does! Everyone is extremely nice, especially if you need help navigating their large selection of specialty doughnuts. There is a drive-through if you're in a hurry, or plenty of sit-down. And there is a glass window through which you can watch them make the best doughnuts in Anchorage. Love it!! read more

Excellent Place to get an outstanding donut! This has to be the best place in Anchorage, and I would give it higher marks that other great donut places around the country. If you want to swing by and buy donuts before work, I highly recommend that you drop-in and buy and purchase a dozen tomorrow morning. read more
