Surly attitude. I ordered to go - surprise! No utensils or napkins. No ambiance at all. Food was average flavor. Price was fair.

Spilled food and bad customer service I really like this food and I wasn't going to post anything but heresy the story. I placed an preset for pick up then when I walked it I was handed a perfectly packed vertical bag with our food by the guy who works there. I took it to my car and drove to work and when I opened the bag I realized that the tray was placed side ways and it stained and spilled the sauce inside the bag and got out to my car seat. Stayed calm until the next part. I decided to make a phone call to let the guy know what had happened hoping that next time or for other customers this will be something to keep an eye out for. But I was dumbfounded by our conversation. Me: explained the situation that he handed me the bag was wrong and it spilled my food. Him: He said that " that's your problem and not my problem" I couldn't believe what his response was and I told him that thanks for great customer service and hung up the phone. I didn't even want an apology, I just wanted to make him aware of what happened so it wouldn't happen again to someone else. Customer service is top priority in the food industry and hopefully this review helps other customer to think twice. So sad read more

Golden Dragon is an enduring establishment on the near NW side. I have been there for lunch many times...had carry out a few. It is not where you will have a epiphany...but for regular american chinese classics like broccoli beef, eggrolls, orange chicken and porkfried rice...it does the job and it is affordable. I ordered takeout on a limb for dinner tonight because I was in the area... I wasn't expecting much but I was surprised! I ordered 2 shrimp and garlic combination plates that came with fried rice and an egg roll at around $9 each. I placed my order over the phone and when I got there 10 minutes later my food was already waiting and fresh. Overall, my meal was quite tasteful. The portions weren't bad either. The vegetables that were included with the shrimp were cooked excellent, along with the garlic sauce. The shrimp were also bigger than most Asian restaurants. However, I was not too impressed with the egg roll. I'm giving 4/5 because this was exactly what I was looking for tonight and I enjoyed it more than expected. read more

In days of yore, when I lived in books, my roommate and I were happy patrons of the Golden Dragon. Yea, weekly did we pray the Golden Dragon bring us gifts of sesame or orange chicken, and verily did the Dragon so graciously deliver. Sometimes with free egg rolls. We never undertook the pilgrimage to the Dragon's lair. So constant and reliable was Golden Dragon with delivery, why should we disturb our fat asses to travel thither? Just an absolute disappointment. Staff was kind, however there ends the positives to the experience. the inside was drab, it felt like I walked into an undecorated taco bell. there were no prices on the board to gauge how much you would spend. You might sit down to eat, however you're still given your food in a to go box and plastic forks and spoons to eat with. The food was nothing to brag about. I ordered beef with broccoli. the beef was mostly fat and there were about a total of 5 pieces to go along with the 50 pieces of broccoli. The rice had way too many onions with it. the water you drink tasted kinda funky. overall, it wasnt the worst experience I've had, I may even return to try again with another meal. but not soon. read more

Typical, junky, Americanized Chinese food. I mean, you know what you're getting into when you eat at a place like this with some fancy LED sign out front, but even for that it was disappointing. They had a sushi bar... with about three pieces of sushi sitting out. In the time I was there, they didn't restock it once. The rest of the buffet was about a half dozen steam trays of bland, oily dishes. I have no experience with take-out or delivery from here, and frankly don't plan on trying. This is one of my go to places for Chinese take out food. The service is always good. The portions at this location is always large and the food is always tasty. The portions are so large I have enough food to last me for two meals and still get full for both meals.The staff always does a good job with getting the orders right. What amazes me is the multitasking the staff does. The same person who cooks the food is the same person who takes the orders and yet they never miss a beat. This is a great location to go for Chinese take out. I have no complaints. read more

This was my go to place for some quick americanized greasy chinese. The type that serve french fries and those donuts dipped in sugar. It's reliable, fast and open pretty late. The place inside is more for picking up your takeout but is okay to sit down with your meal if you're a student or a bachelor, I've never seen a family eaten here before and if you come in and see it you'll understand why... it's just tiny, dirty and there's really no privacy. I thought their mooshu pork was pretty decent. This is cheap and pretty decent greasy chinese. A step above from panda express. read more

This place was awesome! I was looking for a quick place to grab some Chinese food. I went to two other places around the airport area. They weren't that great, but this place is EXACTLY what I look for when I think of quick Chinese takeout kind of places! The place is kinda small, like maybe 10 tables or something. decor was minimal but that to me doesn't matter. It was clean. the food looked great from what other people were eating. This was a great place if you need a quick lunch break. I ordered the sweet and four chicken lunch special with lo mein and white rice. it came with an egg roll. that plus a fountain drink all for $13. got the food. It's looked great! Huge portions. it tasted incredible! It tasted exactly how Chinese take out tastes when I think of Chinese take out. Delicious! Staff was nice. Fast. over all was 5 stars!! The main reason I skipped this place and went to the other places was because this had a 3 out of 5 star review and the others had 5, but the bad reviews on here are probably from snobby people with way too high of expectations or they wanted sit down fine dinning high quality michellian 5 star quality Chinese food. Our go-to Chinese place that's close to home. Nothing fancy, but all the (Americanized) staples. Lunch specials are a good price for a lot of food. My fiance and I have been eating here for going on a year now and we thought it was great ... at first. We live outside of where they deliver, but we didn't mind spending the extra money on some items to get it delivered to us. We always tipped them graciously since they delivered so far and the food was always great. Then they started not appreciating our business.. We ordered from them probably 2-3 times a week and always ordered the exact same thing, maybe add some sweet and sour chicken here and there. Eventually, regardless of our business and tips, they didn't pay attention to the fact that we simply didn't want carrots in our food and started taking close to 2 hours to deliver to us instead of the usual 45 minutes. They would get our orders wrong repeatedly, even when my fiance just went to pick it up himself. Tonight, we ordered $45 worth of food and a tip only to get sick. The sushi was spoiled, the gravy was spoiled, and some of the chicken was also spoiled. We tried to return the food with the receipt only to get the cops called on us and turned away. They also have a child working in the building preparing food and wielding knives in order to prepare the sushi, which the cop and the restaurant blatantly disregarded. Needless to say, we will never be eating here again after getting so sick and being treated so poorly in this one night. read more

WORST FOOD EVER!!!!! GOLDEN DRAGON'S FOOD MADE ME VOMIT!!!! First, I feel it necessary to state that I have eaten sushi before (I love it!) and I do not have any food allergies. The problem is Golden Dragon! I ordered the tuna rolls, friend scallops and a sweet and sour chicken combo. Here's what happened: I ate two pieces of sushi and I began feeling VERY ILL. In desperation I ate a scallop to try and fight down the NAUSEA and then I IMMEDIATELY VOMITED!!! This has never happened to me before at any other restaurant! Someone suggested I call them and get a refund for my food so instead of cleaning up the VOMIT SPLASHED ACROSS MY LIVING ROOM FLOOR I called them and told the girl what I ordered, what I ate and what had happened. She got off the phone and spoke to someone else in Chinese. Suddenly someone new got on the phone, her dad perhaps, so I told him what I ordered, what I ate (two pieces of tuna sushi and one scallop) and that I had then VOMITED and I wanted a refund. I told them that I hadn't cleaned it up yet in case they wanted to see it as proof. So THE GUY AT GOLDEN DRAGON told me that HE WOULD NOT GIVE ME A REFUND "BECAUSE YOU ATE THE FOOD"!!!! I told him again what I had eaten and I specified that the combo was untouched and they could come and take the food back and see the vomit as proof. He refused to give me a refund and he said that I would have to go to the hospital and they would pay for the bill. I told him that would be more EXPENSIVE and I didn't think I needed a hospital, I just wanted my money back BECAUSE THEIR FOOD MADE ME VOMIT. He refused so I said Ok, Bye and called the hospital. The guy who answered the phone around 10pm at downtown Memorial Hospital was just as bad as the people at Golden Dragon. He was AWFUL. I eventually managed to get a little information out of him and I called Golden Dragon back to tell them what he told me, which is that if they're going to pay they have to come in with me and sign stuff saying they assume financial responsibility. The girl said something like "Oh, I don't know anything about any of that." and spoke Chinese to her dad again. He started shouting at her and she spoke in Chinese like "It isn't my fault!" So he got on the phone and started hollering at me. After a while I asked for his information to give the hospital (because he kept saying he would give me "their" phone number) and he refused to give me any info, including their phone number and address for the bill to be sent to them. Luckily I still had my receipt. So I said "Oh, um, um, ok, bye!" and hung up near tears. So I called the hospital back and asked to speak to someone. The guy refused to transfer me to the on call nurse I asked for or anyone in billing ("If anyone is there now" as I said). He just kept demanding I talk to him though he was clearly uncaring, bored, enraged and impatient. There was rap music playing in the background. I eventually got away from him and to someone in the emergency area who told me, nearly as uncaring and impatient as the first guy even though I was just explaining what happened as background to my questions, and that guy told me that being seen at the emergency room is one of the most expensive ways to be seen and that THERE WAS NO WAY THEY COULD SEND THE RESTAURANT THE BILL! HE SAID IF I CAME IN, THE BILL WOULD BE SENT TO MY ADDRESS, THEN IT WAS BETWEEN ME AND THE RESTAURANT!!!!! So I said "Oh. And I guess then they would refuse to pay." He said he was sorry and I said "It's OK. Thanks." I started to hang up, assuming this guy would hang up on me like Golden Dragon and the guy at the switchboard of Memorial Hospital did instead of saying Bye, but he said Bye so I said Bye and hung up. So to recap, I ate three small pieces of food from Golden Dragon, the food made me vomit, I called and asked for a refund, they refused, I called the hospital, Golden Dragon WAS LYING ABOUT PAYING FOR MY HOSPITAL BILL, HAD I NOT INVESTIGATED I WOULD BE STUCK WITH A HUGE MEDICAL BILL OR A TRIP TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT TO GET GOLDEN DRAGON TO PAY IT, and now I'm out of $20 and though I've cleaned my floor my living room stinks like VOMIT!!!!! THIS WAS THE SINGLE WORST RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. DO NOT EAT AT GOLDEN DRAGON!!!! I WISH I COULD POST PHOTOS WITH MY REVIEW! I took photos of the vomit and the food that made me vomit. read more

Price is alright and people are friendly. The chicken has been very dried out and chewy the last couple of times we have gone here.

I ordered through Dine In. The food was hot and good, but if you order Egg Foo Young, order a side of gravy. Typically it's part of the order, but not here. Apparently you need to order it separately. read more

The sweet and sour chicken was very good, one order is enough to feed two people. My husband had sweet and sour shrimp and it was also very good and a generous sized order. The egg rolls and egg drop soup were also good. Will definitely go back again!! read more

While staying in South Bend on business, we decided on Golden Dragon for delivery. We are so glad we did. The order was taken over the phone and delivered to our hotel door within 30 minutes! The food was awesome. We had orange chicken and there was enough for 2. We also had the special fried rice and pork egg rolls. I highly recommend them for dinner! We will definitely eat here again next time we are in South Bend, In! Oh, and the price was good, too! $21 for everything!! read more
