First time at Jade Garden for carry out. I only needed something simple, Vegi-fried rice. Pickup is at beginning, with the open space layout you can view the entire space. Typical decor you'd expect. Somewhere I'd grab a quick lunch or to hang out, if you will. I ordered 6 extra soy sauce (I like to have extras when done, they go in sauce drawer). I think the owner was slightly annoyed with the extra sauce. I guess any good artist would be, if they feel you are about to ruin a good thing! The owner kindly noted to me that the rice has a beautiful flavor from the oil that doesn't really require many additional elements. At which I replied, I like having extras. We smiled at each other, and that was about the gist of the interaction. He wasn't being nasty whatsoever, I should say. This did prompt me however, once I got home and was able to open my gift to try the rice without any soy sauce or other toppings at all, and I was very much pleasantly surprised with the taste and juiciness of the rice. It actually didn't need any soy sauce whatsoever, however, I went ahead and added a little bit too just taste. The rice itself, and its texture were perfect, and the vegetables seem to be able to keep their freshness and crispiness at the same time. All in all, to me, it was a perfect rice! And where you can do simple things excellent, surely you can accomplish more difficult things just as well. I will definitely be back, repeatedly. read more

Coming from someone who was a human garbage disposal and would eat anything when I was pregnant, this was actually really bad. The chicken was weird and soggy? Not only is he on top of your table, he is so far ahead of any wish you want, but every customer in the "Jade Garden." Water low? Jack is on it. More white rice? Jack is on it. Your wish? Mongolian Beef: Sweet and slightly savory slices of beef with plenty of onions and green onions. Spoon it on top of your rice, it's so yummy! Wonton Soup: Both dumpling and broth were flavorful. The Wonton skin was soft and they looked to be homemade. And for under $2 a cup!? I should've gotten two! The service of this family-run business was excellent. They were attentive, friendly and cracked jokes. You could tell by all the patrons interactions that most people have been eating there for years and years! The Jade garden provides wonderful food. I couldn't speak to the authenticity, but it seems to be authentically Chinese. The owner is very accommodating and almost always present. They have wine and beer available. I enjoy the feeling of being in the orient that the decor provides. We have been there frequently and never had a problem or bad food. I went at 11 am at the start of the day. And I order 26ish dollars worth of food. Since I hadn't had chinese in a long time I was craving it. So I order general Taos chicken lunch special with fried rice and eggroll, orange chicken lunch special fried rice and eggroll and shrimp fried rice. Well both chicken entrees well batter entrees were horrible no chicken in the ones I tried and the shrimp fried rice was so soft I have never had soft and mushy like fried rice. I could only take a couple bites and after about 15 minutes I was running to the bathroom . Disgusting. It's soo bad that now a days you have to spend a lot for mess that these restaurants are preparing . No one take pride in what they're selling to people. It's soo sad . What a great landmark restaurant. I came in for lunch and ordered the Sceschuan shrimp medium and a rainbow-roll. The meal came with hot and sour soup and a egg roll. The rainbow roll was made right in front of me. My ice tea was always being refilled. The rainbow roll was very good. The fish was fresh and soft. The Sceschuan shrimp was the best I have ever had. Usually I have been real glad at quickness and food quality but tonight first time had to call and complain, they offered to replace with a " fresh " two orders of chicken skewers, got there traded off looked down into bag ( my mistake ) and did not see all charred , said thank you and left . Got home to same batch of dried over cooked skewers . Will not go back a third time as I have been faithful and a nice tipper . I deserved better then same batch just different bag . We travel a lot and have eaten at a lot of restaurants and I'm here to tell you this is some of the best Chinese food I have had. We got the seafood soup for two and I couldn't get enough of it! The food here is always consistent and flavorful. I do wish they would put bourbon chicken and honey chicken on their menu since those are my favorite. The building itself is a little bit worn down but there is a beautiful fish tank and a beautiful entryway at the entrance of the building. Jack is probably one of the best waiters you will get at any restaurant in the state. They also have lunch prices [like $8 for an entire meal] every day of the week including Saturday and Sunday!! read more

Stopped in for lunch Sunday and always appreciate the fact that you can still get very affordable lunch specials on Sunday. The food is good Chinese food and they have sushi (which we never tried). I would like to give this a fourth star, but I didn't for these two reasons. 1) my son does not like egg rolls and asked if he could substitute anything for it and was told no. It would be nice if like at other nearby Chinese place you could get crab rangoons or some other option than egg rolls. 2) the service was pretty slow. I will say there were two fairly large parties trying to leave as we arrived, but it took a lot longer than normal to get our order in. And we never got any water refills offered until all of our food was gone. Good thing my son does not drink much so we all shared his. Nothing that would keep us from coming back, hopefully I can re-rate this higher next time. read more
