We called a handful of tow companies to help us with our motorhome and we were rejected because of the rain. Empire was the only one who would come out and they towed us, in the pouring rain, in the evening. They were a life saver as we were stranded off the freeway. We highly recommend Empire! read more

From the moment I called to inquire on my towing matter, I knew I had the right place. Your staff is so nice, knowledgeable and gives you reassurance that they are going to help you. All the details were noted to set up my needs and provide to the driver. Then there is Frank Caples. I would give him a hundred stars. What a super friendly and detailed tow driver. You can tell that he really cares about you and your vehicle. I was in a super difficult situation with my RV and he never once mentioned anything could be a problem. He just navigated through it with a smile and willingness to get it done. He kept me posted throughout the duration of the job and it was simply perfection! You are really blessed to have such an amazing person on your team. Thank you all for your impeccable service. read more

This company sold me a vehicle, having vonvinced me that there wasabsolutely nothing wrong with it, even went as far as showing me the code reader connected to it. Started it up, it sounds great. He made it sound so simple, how i would go about getting it registered and getting lisence plates n all, just so quick n easy! So i take it down to where he said to take it - it doesnt pass smog. Why? (Heres the kicker:) -ITS MISSING THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER!!! ITS BEEN "STRAIGHT-PIPED"!! (Which explains why it runs so quietly.. and also why i never even thought to check!) So smog guy puts "TAMPERED" on my smog paper! So now no ones gonna help me pay for a brand new one, and according to this smog guy, its gonna cost me $4000-$8000!!!!!!! To replace it! - n thats the only way!! I only paid $1,500 for the shit! + $500 to register it. Dmv says i can have my plates soon as it passes smog! Ill NEVER be able to afford that! I cant even afford $400! -let alone $4000!!! Im so totally screwed! Idek what to do! But it says here on their paperwork they gave me, that if i dont fix whatever needs to be fixed n get it to pass smog - the tow company can even take away any other cars that i may own or drive as well as this one!!! Good thing this is the only one, but WHAT DO I DO? THEY SCREWED ME OVER N THEREZ NOTHING I CAN DO! I HAVE NO WAY TO GET TO WORK STILL, IM ABOUT TO LOSE MY JOB OVER IT, PLUS HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GET MY KIDS TO SCHOOL EVERY DAY IF I CANT DRIVE IT???!! WHAT DO I DO? IM SO LOST, I CANT BELIEVE A COMPANY WOULD REALLY JUST GO AROUND BURNING PPL LIKE THIS. ITS JUST SO MESSED UP. IDK WHAT TO DO. THANKS ALOT GOLDEN EMPIRE TOWING read more

Golden Empire should have been my first call this morning, however, I called Trinity towing instead and was quoted one rate, and then the driver called and told me it was a higher rate. I hate businesses that do bait and switch, and with towing mostly being an emergency need, I'm sure most people fall for these tactics. Fortunately, my next call was to Golden Empire, and I was given a flat rate quote, which was also less than the first place. They had my car picked up and delivered about an hour after my call. Your driver was also extremely professional. Thank you Golden Empire for being an honest business! Hopefully I don't need a tow any time soon, but if I do I'm calling you and will recommend you to everyone I know. read more

5 stars for Golden Empire! I called to schedule a tow for my project car to be taken to finally have its engine installed. Frank showed up EXACTLY on time and transported my beloved 1966 Dodge across town with love and care. The price was much lower than I had expected as well. It's rare that things go as smoothly as this. Thanks guys! read more

I have to write this review. Normally I only want to talk about food and share what I think are great places for the traveling working man. God forbid you need a towing service while in Bakersfield call these guys. My daughter's car had a power steering failure and needed to be towed. In 31 minutes German was there meeting my wife and had the car on the truck in 10 mins on a busy street. I met him at the auto shop after hours and German stayed there helping to ensure we had placed the car in the best position for the shop to deal with in the morning. German was as authentic and professional as they come and I genuinely appreciate the follow through. Having car issues can be stressful enough so folks like German make the situation palatable. I highly recommend these guys and hope they have a few more like German on their staff. read more

Super pleased with this company's staff and service we received last night. Needed a tow on a very busy, very dark transition from one freeway to another. Would definitely use them again and highly recommend them to others. read more

Excellent service! Very professional and organized! They were on time to the collision center to pick up our vehicle and dropped it off at our home faster than expected! Great service, professional and reliable. On time great price. Only tow company you should deal with in the area.

I hate to admit that Golden Empire wasn't my first tow place to call. They're well known in town, so I stupidly assumed they would be expensive. I was completely wrong, and they were actually cheaper than my insurance deductible for a tow. Dispatch was super friendly and honest when I called to schedule a residential pick up to a dealership. I was quoted an hour and a half, and it was about that time frame. Darin, our tow truck driver in truck #83, was amazing. He worked quickly, and efficiently and our car was loaded in about 20 minutes. I know who to call, and suggest to others from here on out. Thank you for coming out as quick as you could today. read more

Had to call a tow company due to my aunt breaking her key off in the ignition and can I just tell you from the time I called everything was so quick and easy and customer service was a 10 out of 10 Albert was so quick and easy to talk to and seemed like he enjoyed his job which was a plus. Our car broke down yesterday at midnight and our insurance company couldn't get a hold of any providers, However thanks to Yelp I found these guys and Ishmael helped us. He was so kind given we were nervous where we had broke down. He showed up and was courteous. Highly recommend them. Thank you for helping us out. read more

If you want to get ripped off told that its part of their policy. You came to the right place. The Staff is unprofessional and rude for no reason. I was called at 8 pm at night and told I was still being charged after the equipment was dropped off around 5 pm, because the drivers could not leave the drop off destination until I made payment. Mind you no one called me sooner to tell us this or initially when I spoke to the dispatcher she never mentioned that we had to pay the driver right there and then otherwise they're still on the clock. instead of notifying me as soon as they were finished, and letting the driver make their way back to Bakersfield they decided to let the drivers sit in Lancaster, until I processed payment. Who does that??? Why not let the driver start heading home and we could figure out the payment. What was supposed to be 10-12 Hour day they ended charging me 19 HOURS per Truck. DONT hire these people their SCAMMERS. Your told one thing and then get called and hit with an INSANE bill. They are an Unethical business. If you need something towed call people who treat their customers with respect and decency. They get mad when you question anything. Never calling this Lame ass company again. read more

EXPENSIVE as hell for Owner Operators !! Do yourselves a favor and call around to other Locally Owned Businesses. this place is $225 an hour so however long they want to take to get to you is out of your control we paid $930 for a 30 mile tow UNFRKN believable.. won't do that again. read more

Our diesel pusher motor home broke down on our trip to Paso Robles. This is an event that can be catastrophic and expensive. We have Progressive insurance. Our motorhome was delivered without any damage. I highly recommend Golden Empire Towing. read more

I had my car towed to my house while I was working, it's been a bit over a week and I have been busy so I didn't notice until now, but they broke my front bumper. It was NOT like that at the body shop, as I had just gone to see the car, and now it's going to need to be replaced. Also a key is missing and that will have to be replaced as well. Will include picture. read more

My car broke down late at night so I called my insurance company to set up a tow service to the nearest mechanic. My insurance set up a tow with Golden Empire Towing and text me the details of the tow along with their ETA. I was told that it would be over an hour before the tow truck would arrive. However, Chris from Golden Empire Towing arrived 40 minutes earlier than expected and quickly had my car set up and ready to tow. He was professional, courteous and had great customer service skills. I would definitely recommend Golden Empire Towing to anyone, especially anyone stranded and in need of quick, professional, service. Thanks Chris and Golden Empire Towing. read more

My daughter's BMW broke down 25 miles from Bakersfield. When I called Golden Empire Towing around 5am to see if they could help, Davin was extremely helpful by giving me a few names, phone numbers and opening hours of BMW mechanics. She warned me that it would have to be a speciality shop to get the my daughter's BMW expertly assessed. The scheduling process was easy, a payment link sent to my phone and within an hour she was called to tell her they were on their way. Excellent customer service made this stressful situation easier to bare. read more

In the past I used this service for my father when he drove long distance. Tried today and call to get a tow truck for my sister she was on the side of the road on the 99 freeway going northbound. I called and confirmed the tow truck and they said it would be a 40 minute wait. I called back in 50 minutes to check on the status and they said they never received a tow. I explained that I made the call with the location of my sister and where the car should go to. The dispatcher deflected all my concerns and got defensive and said that I hung up so I did not want a tow truck when I was explaining that I provided the car information, location, and home address and they hung up after I gave them that information. The dispatcher was very rude and got defensive and showed no accountability for having my sister wait 40 minutes for no tow truck to arrive. Hope they do better next time and those in charge of picking up the phone should be kind to those calling and wanting to use their device. read more
