To say I'm grateful is an understatement! Our car broke down on the grapevine at Frazier Park and needed a tow to Wildomar. We had 2 companies cancel on us and we waited for 4 hours. Then David called and said he was on his way! I started crying! He arrived when he said he would and then drove me and my husband home 3 hours away! I don't know the owner but he send me Gonzo! He fucken came and rescued me in the middle of nowh ere! Gonzo was a 16years Marine Corp veteran! (Thank you for your service sir!) My story begin when my RV wheel came apart on the long stretch of 46hwy and the nearest tow truck company was at least 50 miles away. Called a few palaces but seem like they don't want to come this way because of the distance. Anyway, before Gonzo was on the way, I asked him to bring me a bottle of water because I had none and I had 2 dogs with me, which he did! Gonzo was an expert with the equipment, he loaded and unload the RV with skills and very professional! If anyone in the Bakersfield area and need a tow! Hit up Jim's and ask for Gonzo! one thing I wish was Jim could of given me was a flat rate rather then hourly.. But Gonzo was a Vet, can't say no to our Vets! Worst customer service over the phone ever. She seemed genuinely annoyed that someone was calling for help. I asked for a residential pick up/drop off to dealership. I wasn't even quoted a price, just told it would be "at least 4 to 5 hours". Who has that time? Obviously we're calling you because we need help! I regret calling Jim's Towing first, I was so discouraged by the attitude and situation I was in. Even when you schedule in advance, they aren't there when they say they will be. When you call, they act like they never gave you a time and still won't give you a time.... basically just wasting your time. Tire completely fell off during my commute this morning and I couldn't put on a spare cuz a lug nut was stuck. So I called Jim's Towing Service. From calling to Jeremiah arriving was about 20 minutes. Awesome. Jeremiah made the process super easy loading it onto his truck and we got to the tire shop promptly. Price was fair and less expensive than other places I had called. And they actually let you ride with the driver! Called for a tow and was given an eta of 45min- 1 hour. The driver arrived in 20 min. He was very professional and even offered me a bottled water since it was so hot outside. In my head I was thinking it was going to cost me hundreds of dollars so I was shocked when I was told the price and it wasn't. The driver was very professional, considerate and handled my car with care. Even said I could call and get an invoice and to call my insurance if I have towing coverage to see if I can get reimbursed. That was the last thing that crossed my mind being stranded but a great idea. Called my insurance and I can get reimbursed for what I paid from my insurance company. Would totally use again. My car was broken just at the beginning of exit 7 on 99N. I called them and said I barely took right shoulder of highway "with my family", asked them a quote and agreed with the service, although operator (Kimberly?) told me it would take couple of hours to find a driver!... more than 2 hours later I was called and asked whether I was still there! And I repeated I was there with my kids, phones almost out of charge, etc... driver showed up almost an hour later and didn't pick up the car since he was not told about my family... super stupid lier operator denied I had told her multiple times how bad the situation was, that I was with my wife and kids... Called this place. Waited 4 hours. I called back to get an update. Still would be more than an hour before they got to me. I had to have my truck to the dealership before a certain time. Couldn't make it because the tow truck never came. They wanted to charge me extra money to store my truck in their yard until delivery the next morning. What a joke. As we approached the driver, we asked him what he was doing, and he replied; i'm trying to pick up your car, for a donation. We told him we are not donating our car. I had my truck stolen last week April 14th,2020. Bakersfield Police Department said they would contact me if my vehicle is located and give me 30 minutes to recover it before a towing service is called. Today, April 20th, 2020, BPD called. They asked if I had a missed call or someone call to advise me my truck has been located but that the tow company already there retrieving my vehicle. I didn't get my chance to retrieve my own vehicle like they said. I had made a report so yes BPD has my number. I called Scott at Jim's Towing he quoted me an amount if I picked it up today. I wrote the amount down. I went to the yard and a guy named Keith said it's double now since they had to unload items like propane tanks off my truck. I asked why not leave items alone? Keith didn't answer. I spoke to Scott via Keith's phone. He said he could do anything then Keith just said I'll take care of it and hung up with Scott. Keith said he was a manager also so I couldn't talk to no one else. He said he wasn't going to budge on the amount despite my earlier quote with Scott and it's a family business so no one else to talk to. I told him I'm a victim of crime, times are tough, you wear a Make America Great Again hat but it's more like "Screw America Is more great". And I'm a strong Trump supporter so it's sad to see that we're not in this together in a time of crisis. Keith stayed silent, unwavering, uninterested and uncaring of mine and maybe others plight. Very unprofessional. First I got transferred to pretty much everyone in the company then when they finally transferred me to the Office Manager Kara she was extremely rude and unprofessional. She had thought she had placed me on hold and I could hear her talking about me. Then she left me on hold for a long time. When I asked to speak to her manager she stated she was the Office Manager and her manager was the Owner and he doesn't take calls. I was so furious I called another towing company. read more
