The guide structured the time the route to give us a great overview of the area and it's history. Make sure you check the weather before hand because the tour happens rain or shine. The company needs to give their guides better training or hire better people. The Irish sights were wonderful, but the schedule was overbooked and left little or no free time. The explanation was that the trip was designed to wear out teenagers, but our average age was 50+. Liam and most other customers agreed that the pace was stressful and unpleasant. The response I got from the company was defensive and dismissive. I also run my own company, and I take feedback seriously. I try to use it to improve my operation. The company does not handle feedback well, as you can see from their response posted under my review. The company also uses its own employees, such as Teresa M., to post positive reviews. I would not use this company again.

It was well-organized and there were a number of experiences that I was pleasantly surprised to find on the itinerary, such as staying at the monastery Martin Luther was a monk at. The locations we attended were diverse and the food and hotel accommodations were very good. The only real issue was that on two days we were required to choose between seeing an interesting site or lunch. In particular, I really wanted to see the JS Bach Museum in Eisenach, and was a bit disappointed that it meant I had to skip a meal (there was at least one diabetic on our trip who couldn't make that choice). I think that was due to unforeseen circumstances though, and it's hopefully something to be improved on future tours. Despite the scheduling issue, I had a very positive experience overall. I would definitely consider going on future tours with this organization.

There was a lot of information about St. Louis history and culture, not just the usual but also the unusual, which was fun. I would have liked a little more detail about the specific architects and buildings themselves, but there was a lot to get in. The tour lasted exactly 2.5 hours and that was enough. We went to the Hotel St. Louis for lunch afterward so we could spend time in that fantastic art deco space. The restaurant is open breakfast through evening, so it would be a good spot to take a break whenever you might be downtown. The sheer number of truly beautiful historic buildings in downtown St. Louis is so impressive. Yes, some are neglected, but their elegance and scale are stunning. It was interesting to see up close the neighborhood and streets that I read about in the news. I recommend this tour for anyone, but in particular it would be great for locals to take it and see our city for the jewel it is. The walk was easy, the guide (Glenn) was fun and informative, and I was surprised at how spotless downtown is.

Sharon did a fantastic job focusing on the less well-known history of women in downtown Saint Louis (Madame Chateau. Harriet Scott, Sacajawea and Eliza Hat raft, among others). Have done running tours in Philadelphia and it's a great way to see the sights on foot. I'm glad when major cities offer such a tour. Food tours, mural arts, walking are all great too but running was my chance to take a break midweek from the sciencing and networking. Joe had several tours available on the weekends but I was able to do one on a Wednesday evening as part of the summer schedule. As I caught a Lyft from St. Charles during rush hour to the meeting spot at Kierney Plaza, Joe was understanding if I was a little late start. Turns out I was the only runner signed up so it became more like a personalized tour. What I loved was hearing Joe's vast knowledge of St. Louis along the way, and his passion for running. He even carried a camera and took photos throughout. Of course we stopped at the arch, but also Lacledes Landing, the riverfront, bridge, Lewis and Clark statue, the ballpark, Citygarden sculptures, City Museum, and other neat houses/buildings even after the sun went down. The price for the downtown tour included the photos (via Dropbox), bottled water and a t-shirt. I forget the exact distance but the pace was comfortable enough for conversation. Had fun out on the road, exploring! There's a lot to be said about opting for the active, outdoor, fun option while traveling for conferences. Happy to have chosen the road less traveled! There was a brief hiatus in September but regular tours should be back.

And I want to give a loud shout out to Missy Tillman with Wish Upon a Star Travel. She took care of all our travel arrangements in each city we visited. All we did was show up and love every minute of it. If you have any travel plans I cannot recommend Missy any more highly. This is the third trip she has coordinated for me and each one has been fantastic.
