AMBIANCE: 3/5 I think it's just basic buffet, nothing super fancy and not sad looking. Maybe a bit outdated but we're here for the food! There were lots of booths, tables and private dining areas (?) There were some areas separated from the main dining area. There's one area that was the furthest away from the food behind the check out counter. The layout was kind of weird. I say this because the restaurant is called, "golden hibachi buffet" and we didn't see the hibachi or sushi counter until we were leaving. The hibachi/sushi area is in front of the check out. It was our first time there, so when we walked in and was immediately seated in the main dining area, we only saw the buffet area and completely missed the hibachi/sushi area. Now that we know where it is it makes us wonder how we didn't see that, but because of where we were seated, we did not notice it. I wish they kinda pointed it out to us when we walked in. Like, "been here before? Hibachi over there, buffet over here" woulda helped us a lot lol FOOD: 3/5 Not gonna lie the food was decently good and they had quite the selection. They had various choices of seafood (steamed, baked and deep fried selections), favorite chinese dishes like noodles, dumplings and egg drop soup, chicken, a nice spread of desserts, ice cream, build your own hibachi noodles and nigiri/roll sushi. Once a dish ran out, it was replaced at a reasonable time. I am a big seafood fan so I enjoyed the crawfish (seasoned very well), the baked crab shell and some of the shrimps (there were a few different types!). I think the deep fried crab was a hit or miss, some were so good but some were overcooked and became a bit dry but still flavorful and delicious! SERVICE: 3/5 When we first walked in we were immediately greeted by the friendly host (older gentleman) who seated us and a separate family at the same time. Our server took a very long while to come and bring us our drinks..like we already had our first plates and began eating. He did come and ask us if we want more drinks when our cups were 90% full. Lol...like i haven't even gotten halfway yet on this cup lol it wasn't super amazing, but it also wasn't super terrible. Leaving, however, was a different story. We were waiting to pay our tab and the middle aged gentleman at the counter motioned with a head nod for us to come to the other side to pay. He didn't smile or look us in the face at all, never once said thank you. We said "thank you" again as we were leaving and he didn't budge or say anything. It's as if we were bothering him as he was listening to whatever on his ear pods..made us feel so weird as we were leaving PRICING: 5/5 We paid about $40 for two including 2 drinks. I'd say that's an insane deal considering you can literally eat as much as you want. Bathrooms were large, had 3-4 stalls and were kept clean. RECOMMEND: Overall, yes. read more

: We went to this hibachi restaurant to celebrate my mom's birthday, and the experience was really disappointing. When my Nana asked for a to-go box, the staff said it would cost $25, $35, $45, even up to $85 or $100 -- just for a box! That's ridiculous. One of the guys spoke in Japanese and told the lady to "go get plates," and she started listing different prices. She only spoke a little English, so it was hard to understand, and very frustrating for my Nana. My Nana wanted to eat later and just take her food home, but they made it a big deal and said it would cost more for a box. That's not right. Also, the pizza was bad -- it tasted like it had been sitting under the heat lamp too long and wasn't fresh at all. If they were more respectful to older people and clearer about prices, maybe we'd come back. But after this experience, we left feeling hurt and unwelcome. read more

Despite the seemingly low rating of 3.8 which is someplace I normally would not visit I did yesterday with a group of about 18 of us from church for lunch. It obviously has changed hands as saying goes over the years and the place itself is totally refreshed, clean, friendly , and a large selection of food on the buffet tables. FOOD WAS DELICIOUS, STAFF FRIENDLY AND TAKING CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. Folks who visit businesses like this should all leave reviews. I see there's mix review about this place? Well I see my daughter and grandson and we go find new restaurants to eat. She's only been living here for few months and I live in Waynesville but camping in south Tampa right now. So good food is a must for me. Anyways the place clean, server was friendly. Their were plenty of option from sushi, Chinese, American food, kids food and even hibachi which I didn't get a chance to try I had 2 .5 plate and it was so good. I did had 2 trip eating seafood, shrimps, steam clams, stuff fake crabs it's still good though. My daughter loved the place and she even order 2 plate to go for dinner it around $11.00 each that's very cheap! So definitely will come back when around. read more

I'm surprised I'm giving this place a higher rating. If you order to go it's whatever you can fit for a standard price. I believe it's 8.99-10.99 or something like that. It's an excellent value. This includes access to the hibachi section as well, which is worth the cost of admission on its own. The food is pretty good for what it is. read more

Well, I have to label this restaurant as "TC". I was skeptical to try this place because of it's 3 star review, but against my better judgment - I tried it! I walked in and I was blow away - such an elaborate display of various food islands. Great! I'm in Heaven. But my euphoria quickly was crushed at my first trip to the buffet. The food was: "TC" - TOTAL CRAP! Nothing tasted good. Fried rice was totally dried out. Sushi bar had only rolls no real sushi. Won Ton soup had empty Won Ton's. Bourbon Chicken was so hard that I could not eat it - had to spit it out onto a napkin. Not one single item that I got from the buffet did I like or finish! Even the desert ice cream was not soft ice cream from a machine but some cheap ice creams in a cooler. Only redeeming value it was CHEAP! $10.99. Okay, so I don't usually leave reviews. But, I just had to share this. The ice cream there was 3 months expired. Most of the food was never replaced. To be fair, we were there at around 6-7 until closing. The service was barely there. All that happened was the occasional collection of dishes. They were friendly there, and the atmosphere was nice. But the hygiene is questionable there. Three out of four of the bowls we picked up were dirty with something or another. The peaches were bruised and hard. I believe like most buffets it can hit or miss, but seems like after they opened back up since covid hasn't been the same. Food is not as fresh and overcooked. So if need your Chinese buffet fix then sure give it a try, but i dont recommend it as frequent visit. read more

Me and my fiancé had a good experience with this buffet. The food was pretty great -and I thought it wouldn't. The only bad thing I have to say is , I notice a couple of flies flying around certain foods , that made me not want to eat of that section. I was surprised by the variety of food. Went up to the buffet and saw a roach by the pans of food crawling around. The food was cold and tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. The staff was nice for the most part, but as we were finishing our meal, they were hovering around us waiting to be done making us feel uncomfortable. Pretty sure they were waiting to see a tip and sitting there to make us feel obligated to tip higher. My husband and I decided to give this establishment a try since we missed buffets from California. Upon entering we tried some dishes except for sushi. The sushi looked so sad and grey under the glass display case. We did not want to risk getting sick. Every dish with sauce tastes funny almost like the sauce was meant to cover up meat that was bad or close to bad. I found the food to have too much MSG, grease and a weird taste. We left after 10 minutes and the woman at the register asked us about leaving a tip. When we declined she got upset and gave us attitude. I understand the value of tips but the waitress only sat us down and we served ourselves the inedible food. Never again will I make my stomach endure the food here. I'm not one to bash a restaurant, but true story, I went to the Golden Hibachi Buffet recently with a few coworkers. (Army). We ate and laughed and had a good time. I went to use the latrine (restroom) and a guy followed in after me. After washing my hands I noticed the guy who went into the toilet stall, walk straight out the door without washing his hands. Now this is nothing I haven't seen before, but as I opened the door after him I see him grab an apron put it on and walk into the kitchen. Now I'm not sure this place is as clean as it should be.
