I've had 2 interactions with this business. The first was a catered house party. The food was delicious, and a great value for the money. It was excellent overall! The second time was the Weekend Buffet. The variety of options was great... all the Indian staples were well prepared and tasty. My personal favorites were the goat vindaloo, and the tandoori chicken. There were many good vegetarian choices as well. This is nearly a 4 star visit, but the service was solidly average. The waiters came around, but at one point I had a small mountain of used plates and bowls on the table. The restaurant itself was clean, but not overly so. Overall, Himalayan Curry Kitchen is worth a visit to fix those Indian food cravings. read more

This food is on another level. Not a lot of great food spots in the area to eat at, in my opinion, but this place hits the mark every time. They are relatively quick despite how complicated a lot of the dishes are. The spicy Rogan Josh is usually my go to. Me and my wife have been here over a dozen times and never had a bad experience. If this place was in a bigger city I'm sure they would have a lot more people coming in. read more

Himalayan Curry Kitchen in Richmond Hill is hands down one of our absolute favorite restaurants. The service is always warm and welcoming, and the food--every single dish--is nothing short of phenomenal. We've celebrated so many special moments here, from Diwali to my son's first solid food (butter chicken, of course!), and it's become our go-to spot for both the lunch buffet and countless family dinners. There is truly something for everyone on the menu. My personal favorite is the paneer makhani, while my kids are obsessed with the butter chicken (I can't blame them--it's incredible). The chicken tikka masala, curries, and kormas are all rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. My sister and I can't resist splitting the chili paneer, and we never sit down without ordering a few vegetable samosas and plenty of garlic naan for the table. It's just as delicious when ordered on DoorDash--which we do often! My only complaint? They're closed on Mondays, and for whatever reason, we always crave it on Mondays. If you're looking for authentic, flavorful, and consistently outstanding Indian food, you can't go wrong with Himalayan Curry Kitchen. After trying this place three times, we're happy to report that we've thoroughly enjoyed Himalayan Curry Kitchen. The buffet and the regular menu both have a lot to offer. We've tried a variety of curries. Honestly, we didn't know there were quite so many options! The naan is fresh and the momos were a great appetizer. Ask for additional spice to be brought to the table if you want to control the amount of heat. I like my food a lot spicier than my wife, so it was nice that we got to share while still going at our own pace, heat wise. The service has been excellent, the wait staff has been attentive and knowledgeable, and the overall atmosphere was quant while still managing to sit a decent amount of people. I saw the reviews were good so I had to try it. Boy am I glad I did. This place is 'must go' if you're in Richmond Hill. Or, even passing thru. By the crowd of patrons in attendance it appears to be a local fav. The ambiance was simple but clean. I came for lunch which was the buffet. The food was delicious!!! Every single dish was prepared well and had amazing flavor! The service was friendly and attentive. And the price point is perfect! Next time I visit I will definitely partake in another joyous meal! I came here for a lunch date with my husband and it did not disappoint. There was a solid variety of options and the buffet is truly all you can eat. We were encouraged to go back and get more food! My favourites were the lemon rice and chicken tikka masala. The staff was very quick to clear plates in between trips to the buffet, and they thoroughly cleaned tables after people took their leave. Attended a friends dinner there last night and was very impressed by the place. They open at 5pm and we were early. Sat and started having apps while we waited for the friends to arrive. The veggie samosas and butter and garlic naan were delicious. Our friends came and the food ordering commenced. From chicken biryani, the Desi Chicken, butter chicken and their mango salmon curry plus extra naan and the white basmati rice, we became pleasantly stuffed. It's a small location but the food aromas outside just draw you in. The ambiance is nice but not over whelming. It's a great place with great food. You won't have a bad meal there but you do need to be mindful of what level spice you want because it can get very spicy if you're not careful. read more

Ordering takeout made sense for me, but they were offering a buffet and it did look decent. My takeout was ready quickly and I got what I wanted. Ordering spicy left me with some noticeable heat but nothing intolerable. My okra was prepared with plenty of peppers and onions and had a complex, herbal flavor with bitter and astringent hints but plenty of delicious counterpoints. My mulligatawny soup was likewise salty as these things tend to be, but had a balanced flavor profile with herbs and spices aplenty. The rice was quite fluffy. There were plenty of other things worth ordering or checking in on at the buffet. This is our go to spot when we travel down to Florida. Just 5 min off the I95 gets you terrific Indian. We love their Masala and Butter Chicken. A little ways outside Savannah, but definitely worth the drive or if you have been out walking in the wildlife preserves in the area. Packed on a Saturday evening and doing a brisk takeout business, but service was very attentive and not a long wait for seating or food. They serve something like an Indian version of Indian chips and salsa once they seat you. The crispy snack was really good and all 3 sauces were, too (2 of them were spicy). We had vindaloo and Rogan josh, both medium spice and with chicken. We like some heat and even the medium heat level here packed some kick. But you could still taste all the other spices and flavors in the dishes so the heat was not overwhelming. It helped that we ordered Peshawari naan, which has a little sweetness to it, so if we got a really spicy bit of curry, we could take bite out of the naan to cool down the burn. If you like authentic Indian food with lots of flavor, this place is highly recommended. read more

What a great find! I'm visiting the area for couple months and was craving Indian. Did a quick search on Yelp and found this place with lots of good reviews. They opened at 5pm for dinner, we arrived about 530 and got the last open table and the wait for open tables started immediately. Pick up orders were going out and restaurant filled, quick service. Rolling through Georgia. Spending the night in Richmond Hill. It's easy to find this Gem of a restaurant. It has the most awards of any eatery in the county. Walking inside is a great mashup. Good ole Georgia families eating elbow to elbow with families from the great land of India. The place is quite busy on Friday nights so you'll want to bring a few ounces of patience along. We ordered the Garlic Naan. Two orders were more than plenty for two people. On our board was the Saag Curry with mixed veggies (rather light on the veggies in my opinion) mild sauce was pretty tame. Also tried the Bhuna Gosht medium and it was a bit hotter than we liked. But combining both dishes on the plate made a good compromise. Desert of Gulab Jamun was a treat, they are like donut holes in a sweet syrup. read more

Consistently good food, good for groups. We love this place. If we have visitors that want Indian, we go here. I have tried many dishes and loved them all: Rogan Josh, Korma, Tikka, Tikka Masala, and Chettinad (which is more tomato base than the others). Alex really likes their lamb biryani. These dishes are easily 2 meals for us. Their vegetable samosas and pakoras are also great. The pakora is easily an appetizer for 3 people. We have ordered delivery, to go, and in house and received the same quality. They have even accommodated us with a party of 8. Next time: I'll keep working my way through the menu! read more
