The ambience, the decor, the lighting, the cleanliness - wonderfully impressive. And the star of the show - the selection of some of the freshest meats, fish, vegetables, sauces & condiments I have ever seen! We had a chance to visit 912 Korean BBQ and hot pot last weekend. We were looking for something casual but filling for dinner and because we had not tried out this place yet but had driven by several times, we decided to check it out. Definitely a great decision on a hunch. This is an all you can eat hot pot concept and frankly my first time attending this version. While I have visited hibachi restaurants in the past, this is not that. Basically this is a dual table side prep concept where you can either make your own custom soups and broths, and hot pot seafood or you can select the grill and grill of a variety of fresh meats and fish and vegetables, or you can get both. Both come with a small dessert bar and seem to be accompanied with the additional Fresh salad and sauce bar, although I'm not quite sure if one of those may have been restricted if you did the grill only or the hot pot only. Pricing is pretty fair at about $30 a person which rises to mid 30s if you decide to get both options. We went with the combo because we had never tried this concept before, but in the future, I may lean more towards the grill option only. Especially if I'm not in the mood for hot pot or soup. But I definitely enjoyed the combination choice for our first visit. The meat and vegetable selections at this restaurant are pretty vast and this is after the server first sets you up and allows you to pick from several different types of broth for your hot pot. In addition, they have a sauce bar that must've had 20+ sauces available to choose from. I think one of the most overwhelming aspects of this concept is lack of familiarity with the right combinations of hot pot and grilled options. For this we leaned heavily on our server and she did a great job of guiding us through a couple of her favorite combinations, as well as some of the favorite combinations of other patrons. This was really helpful because there isn't a menu or chart to help you unlock all of the really cool combinations that you can put together including Ramen udon and Thai soup varieties. All of the ingredients you need to make any of those dishes, but in your own customize version, are here to your heart's desire. Service is really good as they do switch out the grills rather rapidly as they will get charred and start to burn and smoke after three or four rounds of fresh meats and veggies slapped on them. However, they do not switch out your broth choice so once you make your choice, that's what you're rolling with for the rest of the dinner. All in all we were really satisfied with the freshness and the preparation of most of the ingredients and sauces. I did think the dessert bar was a little weak given the multitude of options elsewhere, but I also understand that this is consistent with the cultural preferences, which don't skew as heavy on traditional sweets, like American taste do. All in all this is definitely a treat for those looking for a great date night or just looking to take the family out for a really engaging and tasty cook at your table experience - all you can eat style! read more

To preface this, I LOVE hotpot so I eat it around the country and other places in the world often. We came as a party of 3 two hours after they opened for the day on a Thursday for hotpot only. There was only one other group at the time, though more started coming in closer to evening for dinner. We got seated quickly since it was empty and our server came right away to take our order for drinks and set down our broths. The selection is not that large, but they do offer the basic varieties you would expect at hotpot--i.e. tofu skins, some seafood, veggies, etc. Their sauce variety was good as well. The Szechuan broth was ranked as highest level of spice but it was standard. The mushroom broth was ok but it evaporated quickly after just the first round of veggies and they did not offer top ups of the broth. The food itself: the enoki mushrooms were cut too long so the gunk that should've been excluded were still in some bundles of mushroom. Has to be picked through to make sure you don't cook dirt into your soup. The dessert section was minimal and had no fresh fruits available, just canned peaches. They had classic Korean banchan available and since we're Korean, we had to try them out. The 'best' one that visit was the cucumber salad. However, our party loves bean sprout banchan and was very disappointed when we tried it and they were spoiled. We got a clean plate to try it again in case the vinegar from the cucumber salad mixed in with the bean sprouts the first time around and still, they tasted way off. This did make us feel a little gross--it's only two hours after opening so the food should've been pretty fresh. Rancid banchan was definitely off putting and changed the tone of the rest of the meal. The servers aren't too attentive and don't check in on you after the initial seating so we weren't able to request for more broth or water nor quickly notify them about the spoiled food. I did see employees on front of house mostly looking down on their phones and others working floor just standing around. My table was seated close to the ingredient bar which was infront of the kitchen and despite the music playing in the restaurant, the crew was socializing loud enough to hear yelling through the walls. Thankfully we already knew what to do at hotpot but I felt that newcomers would be pretty confused. There was also a party seated next to us that didn't seem to know how to cook kbbq as they kept burning everything; they probably could've used some helpful tips from their server. Overall this does feel like a restaurant still trying to find its ground. I did manage to inform them about the spoiled food as I was leaving after payment (I eventually had to chase them down for the check). The crew was nice but most on the younger side so just seemed inexperienced. It would help if the store management conducted more detailed training, particularly on food safety. It was disappointing that I didn't enjoy the meal when I usually always have a great time at hotpot, just not here. The food quality was too lackluster, especially considering the price is on the higher end at almost 40 a person for hotpot only. There should be more frequent quality checks and better food practices conducted to prevent dirty and spoiled food from being served to customers. read more

I have been told by multiple people that I needed to come here. Well I got the perfect opportunity! This place was huge! They had plenty of seating and spacious area for cooking. I was shocked how many options they had for everything! I started with the appetizer including oysters and crab legs which were really good. When it came to the bbq and the soup options it was seriously endless! You could pick from seafood to meat. I ended up getting lamb and salmon for my main course with ramen noodles. For my soup broth I got the pork. It was really creamy and delicious! The staff was really helpful and so knowledgeable! read more

912 hot pot is a really cute place to have either an intimate dinner or a birthday gathering between friends. I have also been for a graduation party and their large party room was a really nice addition for a large group of people. They have a lot of different options on their food bar and so many different additions for the hot pot option. For myself, I only need the food bar, because the hot pot included is just way too much food for me. I think for the price I believe it's like $30 for just the barbecue is more than worth it being that you have so many different meats to choose from probably anywhere from 25 to 50, including the different sauces and the different side dishes that are available. I always leave super full when I'm here and I'm stuffed for a long period of time. The customer service is always really good and they're not very pushy. They also do a really good job keeping the place clean, including the bathroom areas. read more

This place is awesome! Georgia has a gem in this restaurant. Right off the 95, close to Savannah, is a Korean Hot Pot Buffet that knocks trendy KPOTS off their thrones. I wish this place was franchising in my area. The food is serve yourself, cook yourself and there are so many options, you will miss 50%. We ordered the Hot Pot and Grill because there's only a couple dollars difference. They have quite a lot of flavors, and I was informed none contained MSG. (I hope that's true) The prices are some of the cheapest I have seen, for the quality of food available. Guys, here is the best part, after we grilled our first round of meat, they actually changed out our grill. That has never happened. Not even in Korea! Can you please franchise in Virginia???There was a line on a Saturday at 3pm but we were seated and beginning to eat within 25 minutes. Could there be any negatives here? Not with the food or service... however... they make up a lot of profit in drinks. Soju is 17.00 a bottle and a lemonade was 7.99. Probably not the place you want to order drinks, unless it's a special occasion. Other than that, this will be our new stop by when traveling through. The ambiance is a big hectic. The place is huge and there is people going back and forth to the food area. You choose a hot pot or a BBQ, or both but if you order both you pay double. If you order BBQ and your partner hot pot, you can't share. Eat what you could eat only! They will charge you $5 extra for every 100 grams of leftover food. The service was good, the servers are here, there and everywhere so it was a bit difficult to get a hold of our great server Rose. If anyone's super excited about this opening up, it's ME! I'm a Korean food fanatic and I've been waiting for a place like this. We visited with a large party of 5 and a baby during their "soft opening". The restaurant is spacious and very clean upon entry. We were the first ones to be sat and were placed in the back. It was nice to be able to have private seating, or what felt like it. Our waitress was an absolute SWEETHEART! She was attentive and very friendly. My baby was making a mess of rice and we constantly tried to clean it up and she wouldn't let us. The entire time she was just amazing. You pay roughly $35.99 for both hot pot and KBBQ- unlimited!! Of course we got this around the table. They have prepared broths and different flavors for you to choose from. They have a buffet style of meats, and veggies that you can choose from. The quality appeared to be good and the restaurant was very clean. As it started filling up the Buffet area got a little hard to get into but no issues, we just waited our turn. You can stay for 2 hours from when you arrived and fill up as much as you can. I really enjoyed my time here. FINAL VERDICT: Do yourself a favor and come try this place! 10/10 the food was great, lots of options at the buffet, they constantly bring our fresh meat as everyone eats is so fast, but they are on top of it and your favorite choice will quickly be put back out before you even sit down. Our waiter was great at checking in and being accommodating when one if us was going to be late. The ambience is very modern and classy. I really like the open concept of the restaurant. I always go for the spicy Szechuan broth and I always make sure to load up on plenty of steak and veggies. The dumplings are also very good too, and there is plenty of staff, so service is very quick. I recommend the classic 912 sauce at the sauce bar, it's a little on the spicy side, but you can tune it to your preference. Very solid hot pot will be returning. read more

We arrived around 7:00ish on a Thursday evening and were prepared to wait. To our surprise, we were seated right away. The restaurant is big, so plenty of booths and there is even a little semi private room for larger parties. 3 out of 4 of us did both the hot pot and bbq for 34.99. Been looking for a while to find a similar restaurant and so happy to have gone to 912! I recommend the Thai tea for beverage! Wonderful wait staff, very open and chic feel to the restaurant. The ambiance is nice, clean and modern! The customer service was great!!! Our server was very attentive! She was new but she gave us thorough instructions to ensure we enjoyed our experience! Pulling up to this restaurant is great because there is a lot of parking. When you walk in,the decor at the entrance is inviting and nice! The decor throughout the restaurant is nice. Inside is also very big with so many booths and tables. As soon as we sat down, we were greeted by our waitress who explained how the process works. You can choose to just do bbq, hotpot or both! I chose both! We ordered Soju for the table. I decided to go with the Tai Tom Yum soup base. We were told that we can go up and get what we wanted. The variety of meat and seafood was amazing! They were all also seasoned to perfection but you can add seasoning because they have a station for that as well. The meat varies from chicken, to steak, to pork to quail eggs and so much more! They have seafood from salmon, shrimp, clams, squid and octopus and so much more. They have a variety of sauces and vegetables. They also have an area with ice cream and the cookies and cream flavor was delicious! I loved doing both hotpot and bbq because you have your own personal pot you can control the temperature that is located on the table. Also the price is reasonable and you get a 2 hour limit. Our waitress was great! She was attentive and taking the plates we no longer needed. She also changed our grill when she saw that it needed to be changed and she changed it like a pro!
