TOP-NOTCH! I got my car stuck on a gravely hill. Golden Hook came within 10 minutes and assessed the situation and began to arrange to pull me up the hill. Then a neighbor moved their car which allowed me to drive my car up a less steep and less slippery part of the hill. I wanted to pay the driver his normal fee but he said he believed in KARMA and that I did not need to pay him ANYthing! So kind! He made my day!!!! read more

DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY IF YOU NEED A TOW. GM roadside assistance assigned Golden Hook Towing to tow my car. Since their estimated arrival time was 2 hours later, I called roadside assistance back and told them I was not going to wait for the tow truck and that I would leave my key in the car. GM roadside assistance said they would pass on the info to Golden Hook. At 12:30 AM, an hour later than they were supposed to show up to tow my car, the tow truck driver calls me and says he can't find my car. After asking a few questions, I figured out he was 10 minutes away and tried to give him some info to help him find my car. He calls me back 10 minutes later and says he still can't find the car. I find out he hasn't really left the area from where he called me before. Again I tell him he's 10 minutes away from where my car is. He says OK and hangs up. 10 minutes later, he calls AGAIN and puts me on speaker phone because he found a police officer who will help him and give him directions to my car. I explain to the officer where my car is and the officer knows exactly where I mean. The tow driver hangs up and I didn't hear from him again. I went to sleep assuming he towed my car to the dealership. In the morning I call the dealership to see if they have been able to look at my car yet. They tell me there's no car matching that description in the lot. My car isn't there! I called the tow truck driver whose number was obviously still in my phone. It goes to voicemail. I call Golden Hook Towing and it goes to voicemail. (I left messages and no one ever returned my call.) Luckily my car was parked in a parking lot of a business so I call the business and ask them to look outside to see if my car is there. A kind woman does so and tells me that yes, my car is still there. MY CAR SAT THERE ALL NIGHT WITH THE KEY ON THE FLOOR AND THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER DIDN'T HAVE THE DECENCY TO CALL ME TO TELL ME THAT HE JUST LEFT WITHOUT PICKING UP MY CAR. And my car was not hard to find. It was on the main drag of a business district. Call these people at your own risk. This is one of the worst experiences with any business that I've ever had. It's funny, when you're in an accident, 15 tow trucks randomly show up within 30 seconds because they hear it over the police scanner and they practically fight each other to tow your car and charge you hundreds of dollars. But when you need a tow because your car broke down late at night, they could care less. read more

I had a busted rim and called my roadside assistance, Golden Hook is who was dispatched to tow me. It took them over five hours to get to me, and I didn't receive a single update from the company about the status of the tow or their ETA. The only time I did get an update is when I tried to call them, which was a pain in itself. I was hung up on twice, with someone shouting "NO" into the phone, then sent to voicemail repeatedly. I was then called back from an entirely different number saying my driver would reach out with an ETA. The driver never did. These people are rude as could be, don't trust them or their services. read more

They took over 3 hours to get to me which was 1 1/2 hours after estimated time. They did not communicate and were rude. Other tow companies could have been there in 30 minutes. Do not use. They are terrible!!! read more

Golden Hook Towing is hands down one of the best businesses I've ever given my money to. Usually if you're in need of a tow truck, you're in a bit if a jam. Your options are limited. It's also a service that most of us don't use very ofen. That said, I have to praise Golden Hook for creating two of the most positive customer service experiences Ive ever had. As I am new to the Pittsburgh area, I don't know many people in the area that I can call upon in the event of an emergency. When my car broke down on the parkway, I googled and contacted GH towing. Within ten minutes, my car was being hooked to the tow truck. The driver, and owner of the business was very friendly, knowledgeable, prompt and professional. The price was extremely reasonable, basically a steal. I felt like I owed more for all the help I received. The driver also recommended a decently priced mechanic (and s couple to steer clear of) that fixed my car and did a fantastic job. About a month later, I was driving down Mount Washington on Greenleaf Street. I hit a giant pot-hole and my tire was completely ruined. My phone was dead, and it was late at night. I decided I had no choice but to try to change the tire myself. I soon realized that I had a Jack and a donut but no tire iron. I was totally screwed. It just so happened the driver of this company turned on to Greenleaf Street and proceeded to pull over and ask me if I needed help. I didn't wave him down or anything, no one had called him, he just decided to stop and see if I needed help. I explained to him that I didn't have a tire iron. Without hesitation he got out his jack and completely changed the tire for me, putting the donut on in a matter of minutes. I was so happy and fortunate that he stopped, but that's the kind of person that you're getting when you call Golden hook. He was off the clock but genuinely cared about my predicament and without hesitation offered to help me. When I asked him how much I owed him, he refused to take any money. He just wanted to help. I took the time to write this review because I was so impressed by this business. I'm not impressed with businesses often nor do I write reviews often, but this company goes above and beyond and they genuinely care. That's what makes them special and worthy of a 5 star rating.
