I called to make an appointment, and surprisingly, Yuni was able to fit me in later the same day. Yuni was very nice and listened attentively to the few pictures I showed her of the styles I liked. I was a little skeptical at first because, honestly, I wasn't even sure myself exactly what I wanted! In the past, other hairstylists have told me they understood what I wanted, only for the results to be disappointing. The hair washing was relaxing and comforting. The haircut and blow-drying probably took only about 15-20 minutes. I was surprised and so happy when I saw the result! My hair was at an awkward length--just above my shoulders. It had very little shape and tended to curl outward. But with just a little trimming and styling, the transformation was amazing. Although it didn't feel like much hair was actually cut, I looked so much more refreshed and vibrant. I waited until the next day morning, after washing my hair the night before, to see if I could actually manage the style on my own. And yes--I could, with very little time. I booked two 60-minute head spa massage appointments with blow-dry--one for myself and one as a birthday gift for my friend at the Carson location. When I called, no one answered. They later texted me, and I specifically asked if they had two appointments scheduled. I was told yes. I only received one confirmation email, but I trusted that both appointments were confirmed. When we arrived, there seemed to be some confusion about our appointments. The setting was also very different from what I expected from a salon/spa. It is located in an office-type space in a somewhat vacant building, rather than what I would consider a traditional salon or spa environment. My friend was taken back first and had her hair washed, but water was getting all over her face. Products were applied to her hair, and then we switched so they could start on my hair. I experienced the same issue with water getting on my face. We were then left sitting for quite a while. I eventually asked about the massage portion of the service and was told that I had not booked that type of appointment. After they discussed it among themselves, they took my friend into another room with a massage bed. The bed itself was very uncomfortable for her when it was turned on. Someone else wet her hair, but there was no actual head or scalp massage performed. At that point, we were ready to leave, but decided to stay and see if they could complete the services. After my friend's "massage," they attempted to style her hair. Her hair was blow-dried and a very large amount of hairspray was applied. For my service, they eventually rinsed whatever product had been put in my hair, then only partially blow-dried it. By this point, we had been there for approximately three hours. I was tired and simply asked them to leave my hair somewhat wet so we could leave. I'm sharing this because I think it's important for people to know what the experience and setting are actually like before making a reservation. If you are expecting a traditional salon or spa atmosphere and a 60-minute head spa massage experience, I would recommend confirming exactly what the appointment includes and what the location is like beforehand. This review is simply based on my personal experience. I hope it helps others make an informed decision when booking.

I went out with a curled head of hair and showed disappointment in my reactions but she said that as long as I style it it'll look good. I went in wanting a low maintenance haircut and now I have to curl it all the time?! I flew back to where I lived and couldn't take it anymore. My hair looked horrible.
