It's amazing what some people do. My Mother and I were both scheduled for a hair cut. We walked in to see plenty of sinks w/ hair dryers and chairs. So when I sat down, thinking Will was just going to look at my hair before he gets started, he starts to cutting it while it's dry! What! Who does that! He did the same thing to my Mom. I have never had anyone cut my hair dry. There was hair in my mouth, nose, everywhere. It was awful and my hair looked like it was cut with a freaking lawnmower. Never again Will. You need to go back to beauty college. When my Mom wanted to pay with a card, he said the machine was broke, yeah right, he didn't even try it. so of course she had to and go get cash. read more

Family owned by Sonia and her mother; Sonia was very friendly and outgoing. Cut my hair in layers and not too short as I was asking since I'm still trying to keep the length. She also gave me great advice about products and also buys and sells products. So I think I will try the silver shampoo she's recommended. Sonia is definitely worth the visit! Her and her mom make a great duo. I came into Bellezza with absolutely no idea what I wanted and ended up showing her a couple idea pictures that had nothing to do with each other. We sat down for a quick and free consultation, and she ended up inspiring me to do something completely different! My appointment was on Thursday, December 18th at 11:30am. I waited a little bit for her to finish up her last couple clients, and then sat down in her chair by noon. I told her to cut off a couple inches to her best judgement--I still wanted length, but my dead ends to be gone. All in all, we took approximately 2-3 inches off, which was a lot in my opinion, but it made my fine, thin hair look full and healthy. We of course had to do this prior to highlighting and bleaching, because all my hair would've fallen off I had cut it afterwards. So the highlighting process began. We used maybe 20 foils for my whole head? Dyed my hair back to it's original color and added highlights. I don't exactly remember the name of the color we toned it to, but it looks like a honey blonde? Not what I pictured, but hey, she gave me "different," which is what I asked for. The total for my cut and color came out to $160, and everything took about 2 hours. Pretty expensive compared to the $70-80 that I'm used to with my other guy, but she made the experience worth it. All in all, I'll probably be coming back here for my next hair journey. read more

Found this gem through Yelp. I could not be any more pleased. Let me say that my next stop after getting my hair done was the car wash and immediately I was complemented on my hair by 2 random ladies. And I was barefaced, no makeup! I felt like a million bucks! Even though I don't live in southern California anymore, I will wait until I visit my family there to get my hair cut and/or colored by her. I used to see her in another salon, until she opened this one (her own) about two years ago and I followed her. I can't speak as much on the other hairstylists in the salon, as I have never had my hair cut by any of them, including her mother Isaura, but I do know the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. :) Long story short: Sonia's prices are very reasonable, she listens to you, and you will end up with a great haircut and style. I showed Sonia pictures of how I wanted my hair beforehand and she barely even took a minute to look at them. I figured we was a pro because of all the good reviews on here so trusted her but I should have asked her to really listen to what I wanted. I wanted a brown balayage with blondish tones mixed in. She proceeded to bleach my hair but really don't think she knew what she was doing in terms of experience with balayage. I ended up with all over highlights that she passed as balayage. She toned my hair an ash blonde but there are some parts at the top and in between that are still yellowish from the bleach. The highlights are also very uneven. The left side of my head is really subtle whereas the right is very streaky/chunky. I had to go in and cut off some of the chunks myself because they were so horrible looking. And to top it all off, I got charged $141! When I told her the color wasn't exactly what I wanted, she said "well, that's why I showed you the swatch beforehand" but it looked nothing like the swatch! The cut was also comparable to a $20 cut elsewhere. Now I have to wear my hair in a ponytail and just wait for it to grow out. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

Words can't describe how happy I am with my hair after leaving here. Sonia worked miracles with my disaster of a dye job I received elsewhere. So here is the story... Ill be the first to admit I get bored with my hair, so I can't say I have the healthiest hair. For the last 2 years, I've had burgundy red brown hair and I know that red is very hard to get rid of. However, I had not died my hair in 8 months prior to beginning this process, although I was using red shampoo, which kept the color in pretty good. I went to this super fancy salon in Newport Beach, paid a bunch of money for a trim and a natural looking ombré/ balayage (I brought lots of pictures-of what I eventually wanted my hair to look like, my natural hair color, what its looked like before when I had this done, etc.). My natural hair color is a light brown. I figured I'd have to have at least 2 treatments to get back to where I wanted to be but I was ok with a little orange, red and everything in between as long as I was closer to my natural hair color. Well long story short the other salon messed up my hair royally. They didn't touch the bottoms of red part of my hair, but added tons of blonde highlights on top of my head, where my actual hair had grown out. It looked awful, really awful! On top of that, I was leaving for a long trip and couldn't bare go looking like a clown. I called Sonia and I automatically had hope for my disaster dye job. She asked me to send her pictures of my hair, and let me know before even scheduling the meeting that it will take a long time to do, and will not be cheap to repair (when it came down to it, it was actually very affordable, cheaper than the original mess up). She fit me in that same afternoon. She seriously changed all of her personal plans before a holiday weekend before ever meeting me because she wanted to help me knowing I was desperate. She was a sweetheart, and spent 4.5 hours on my hair, and stayed at the salon until 9 pm to finish. Wow! I later found out it was the one year anniversary since her and her bf had first met, and she still was willing to help. She took her time, explained everything along the way, and really left me in awe. My hair came out amazing, healthy and beautiful. I never in a million years thought it could look this good. She really is a miracle worker! I definitely will be going back for as long as I live! read more

Because of all the great reviews for Sonia, I decided to make an appt with her. I lucked out out and she took me same day, yesterday. Every view was spot on. The salon is lovely and modern. Sonia is adorable and extremely friendly, but most of all an excellent stylist (most important). I have not been happy with my haircuts for sometime not enough layers and problems with my bangs. Sonia gave me a much more edgy look with lots of layers (still will need to get it longer in time) and fabulous side bangs. I could not be happier and I highly recommend her! I am pretty new to area and I was looking at salons to go to near me. This salon was one of the many that popped up and thought I should try it out. I went to Sonia to get my hair washed and flat ironed and it came out wonderful. Then I came back for the second time and things turned out very BAD. I came in just to get my hair washed flat ironed and trimmed and instead of a trim I got a FULL BLOWN HAIR CUT. I seriously cried for about a week....don't come here if you want a trim because most of your hair will be on the floor. At first glance because of where it's located it gives you this feeling of your typical hole in the wall salon and it costed a little be bit more than what I expected for a salon listed as 1 $. At $20 for a basic hair cut and +$6 for beard trim. Stepping in it had very comfortable feel. After stepping in my first impression were shattered. Everything looked great! It was neat clean tastefully decorated and I was greeted with a warm smile and greeting by Sonia. I quickly realized how much of a steal it was after experiencing the level of customer service and quality of cut I received. Sonia was very friendly quick and did a amazing job!!! It was exactly what I wanted! Needless to say I tipped additional $$ as gratitude for the amazing service.
