I hired Maxi Clean for a deep clean of our 5,200 sq ft home, which we paid $1,900 for. When the lead cleaner arrived, they emphasized that Maxi Clean only does exactly what's written on the work order and that in their own personal business they usually would do more. This was a strange way to start the cleaning and let me know Maxi Clean seems to contract out their work. Three more cleaners arrived and they all finished in about three hours. When they asked us to walk through and check the work, a lot of basic deep-cleaning tasks had been missed. Some we asked them to redo on the spot; others would have taken several more hours to actually complete, meanwhile the crew was clearly trying to get out of our house to get to an appointment (one of them mentioned a doctors appointment) or some other work they had to do. What was left undone or done poorly: * Kitchen cabinet fronts weren't wiped down * The kitchen island still had crumbs on it (many other surfaces like this were untouched) * No furniture was vacuumed until we asked. They even told us they did vacuum but we pointed out there was a lot of cat hair on some chairs. * Shower grout was barely cleaner than when they started * Windows still had smudges, despite windows being on the service list * I was told I had to empty the fridge myself for them to clean it (previous cleaners cleared and cleaned shelf by shelf) * Baseboards still had buildup on them * Cobwebs remained in the kitchen and several bathrooms I emailed Adrian to say we were disappointed and listed these issues. On the follow-up call, rather than addressing the work, I was told I should have stopped the crew before they left and called the office to complain, and I was told it didn't make sense to pay $1,900 without asking them to "do everything." I was asked to submit photo proof of the poor job, and if Adrian agreed the photos showed poor work, he'd send the same cleaners back. I never got an apology -- the takeaway was that the result was somehow my fault. To drive this point home: if I hadn't been home during the cleaning, I couldn't have "stopped" anyone. Performing a proper deep clean is the service I paid for; it isn't the customer's job to supervise the crew and catch what was skipped. When a customer says the work fell short, blaming the customer isn't customer service. Adrian mentioned they do a lot of move-in/move-out cleans, and maybe that's their strength. But based on my experience, I can't recommend Maxi Clean for a deep clean or ongoing maintenance clean of a home you're living in.

A staff of 3 came at the appointment time and finished within 3 hours. Overall they did a good job. Most of the areas they cleaned were done well. They did miss some of the instructions I gave Sandra, so I don't know if the staff got the memo. When I reported that to Sandra, she just apologized and didn't offer to rectify. They also worked around my pet areas, which I thought felt kind of half a$$. So like half the wall was cleaned. A few minor things were thrown away, so I needed to buy replacements, which was a little annoying. Like others mentioned in their reviews, they didn't put things back the way they were. If that bothers you, don't go with these folks cuz it will drive you crazy. Price is relatively cheap I think, so maybe I got what I paid for. Not sure if I'll use them again.

Overall, they did alright but there were some frustrating things during each of the cleanings; some consistent and others just negligent. Summary: - They don't help with organizing. So I end up having to clean up after the cleaners leave to put everything back. - They don't put things back where they were. (e.g. we have child locks around and I spent half the day after the first cleaning searching for the key) - They rush through the cleanings (e.g. forget to empty the trash bins in the kitchen, unhook ceiling vents to clean them but don't hook them back in, left some dirty rags in the bathroom, wipe the floors but if there's anything sticky like a piece of candy they just leave it...and the worst was putting non-oven-safe pans in the oven and accidentally turning the oven on while cleaning) - If they need help with cleaning something, they don't bother asking. They just don't clean it. For example, our diaper pail is a little tricky to remove the garbage bag. They've never asked me how to remove it. So I ended up just putting it in the main trash bin before they arrived so they can take it out. - After the first deep cleaning, I asked what they could help with cleaning regularly and they let me know what they can/can't do. Yet every regular cleaning, they always forgot something that we had agreed they could take care of. There's something about cleaning up after the cleaners leave that just doesn't seem right. So after the 3rd regular cleaning, we decided to part ways. If you're looking for a cleaner that will do a thorough job, communicate honestly with you, and be thoughtful and respectful of your home, I'm not confident this is it.

The bottom line is, they did a great job and worked much harder than I asked them to, since the carpet was in bad shape and I didn't expect much. After seeing all the time and effort they put in, I fully expected to be charged up to double, but they asked for the original amount even after I offered more (so I increased my tip).
