I really want to give them 3.5 stars. I requested for deep cleaning for most of the house. Sandra came to assess the scope of work and took notes. A staff of 3 came at the appointment time and finished within 3 hours. Overall they did a good job. Most of the areas they cleaned were done well. They did miss some of the instructions I gave Sandra, so I don't know if the staff got the memo. When I reported that to Sandra, she just apologized and didn't offer to rectify. They also worked around my pet areas, which I thought felt kind of half a$$. So like half the wall was cleaned. A few minor things were thrown away, so I needed to buy replacements, which was a little annoying. Like others mentioned in their reviews, they didn't put things back the way they were. If that bothers you, don't go with these folks cuz it will drive you crazy. Price is relatively cheap I think, so maybe I got what I paid for. Not sure if I'll use them again. read more

3.5 stars overall. I completed the initial deep cleaning and 3 regular cleanings every 4 weeks with Silicon Valley House Cleaning. Overall, they did alright but there were some frustrating things during each of the cleanings; some consistent and others just negligent. Summary: - They don't help with organizing. So I end up having to clean up after the cleaners leave to put everything back. - They don't put things back where they were. (e.g. we have child locks around and I spent half the day after the first cleaning searching for the key) - They rush through the cleanings (e.g. forget to empty the trash bins in the kitchen, unhook ceiling vents to clean them but don't hook them back in, left some dirty rags in the bathroom, wipe the floors but if there's anything sticky like a piece of candy they just leave it...and the worst was putting non-oven-safe pans in the oven and accidentally turning the oven on while cleaning) - If they need help with cleaning something, they don't bother asking. They just don't clean it. For example, our diaper pail is a little tricky to remove the garbage bag. They've never asked me how to remove it. So I ended up just putting it in the main trash bin before they arrived so they can take it out. - After the first deep cleaning, I asked what they could help with cleaning regularly and they let me know what they can/can't do. Yet every regular cleaning, they always forgot something that we had agreed they could take care of. There's something about cleaning up after the cleaners leave that just doesn't seem right. So after the 3rd regular cleaning, we decided to part ways. If you're looking for a cleaner that will do a thorough job, communicate honestly with you, and be thoughtful and respectful of your home, I'm not confident this is it. read more

Really lucked out with Silicon Valley House Cleaning! After a venue cancellation I needed to change the location of the bridal shower I was throwing, to my house (3b 2.5ba). EEK I have children so not only does my house always look like a cyclone came through, but where would I find the time to deep clean? I called SVHC and I talked to Sandra - she not only had availability on the day I needed but came out to do a consult before to ensure she gave me the correct estimate. Mind you, I called on Tuesday needing the house cleaned that Friday. I told her I only wanted to pay for two hours and explained that I wanted my downstairs to be the priority. If they could get upstairs, great, but I knew expecting the whole house to be spotless was an unreasonable ask. They made it happen for me. Cut to the actual day of service. Not one, not two, but three women came to clean the house! From what I understand they usually only deploy 1-2 people to clean. What a happy surprise to have those extra hands to get as much done as possible. The team absolutely hustled and spent every second of those 2 hours scrubbing away. They had to deal with me running around the house too - but they got it done. All my bathrooms were sparkling, the windows no longer featured smudges from my kids hands and faces, and the whole downstairs was pristine. The ladies were friendly and thorough and I am very pleased. SVHC was spectacular at communicating - I got text confirmations about what we discussed, as well as confirming the rate and time of service. There was also a follow up after the cleaning to ensure I was happy with the service. I will be using them for all my future home cleaning needs. read more

I was fortunate to find this company during my Yelp search. Bert was very quick to respond and coordinate a time with me for his cleaning crew to arrive. I got to meet with one of the cleaning ladies first to get an estimation, then when the day comes, two of the ladies who came to the rescue and managed to put my condo to the original shape before it was ruined by my renter. Just hired Silicon Valley House Cleaning to clean my 2300 sq ft home twice monthly and they just delivered the initial clean. It was outstanding in quality in every way! Were 2 cleaners, they dusted EVERYTHING -- doorways and doors, baseboards, wall mounted lights, every slat of my window coverings by hand, etc. I have a drink cart (2 level) and they emptied the whole thing and dusted everything by hand. I had other items my prior maids had not "touched" for MONTHS :-) -- all clean. It was more thorough then I imagined -- a nice surprise! It is such a nice touch to offer this "special benefit" -- I thought a "differentiator" -- in my kitchen, I have a large slider and a bank of 3 windows around the sink and they cleaned both inside and out (and they needed it!) and I understand that offering will be sustained. Seven months into shelter-in-place our house needed a deep clean. On a Wednesday, I contacted SVHC. That same day, we had set up a time that worked for us, that very next Monday. The owner made a brief visit on Friday in order to provide a quote, which was very reasonable. I appreciated that she never said "Yuck" or "Ugh" because the house was not in good shape at the time! The two-person team arrived right on time on Monday and got straight to work. They were extremely detailed, getting into nooks and crannies like the window sills, sliding door tracks, and beveled doors. I had added the oven and the fridge and they did great work there. I needed a deep cleaning for my kitchen that I've been sharing with roommates for 3+ years. None of my roommates were ever big on cleaning so other than the regular wipe down, not much was happening in regards to really cleaning everything. I had a hard time at first finding a cleaning service that would commit to only the kitchen (and a one-time cleaning), but then I got lucky with Silicon Valley Cleaning. Sandra stopped by initially to do an appraisal and then provided a quote and her availability. Two cleaners were assigned to my kitchen and they did a fantastic job. It took them almost 3hrs (embarrassed to admit it was that dirty...) but they really went into all the cracks and niches. My kitchen looks spotless now, and not just on the surface. Every appliance was cleaned inside and out; and the stove looks like new (despite being very very old). Very happy with Silicon Valley House Cleaning! I signed up for a monthly service and have enjoyed it so far (I am 3 months in). They do a great job, have always arrived at the beginning of their estimated arrival window, and are very friendly. They make sure enough cleaners are assigned to each household so that they are thorough but efficient. I also appreciated that when I first contacted them, the first thing that happened was an in-home consultation. It meant I knew what to expect, both for the initial cleaning, and the follow up monthly cleaning because we did a walk through of my place. The ability to pay via an app like Venmo is nice, it just adds to the convenience factor. They are reasonably priced as well. I've a biweekly cleaning schedule with them. The two ladies always show up on time and work very honestly! They're very open to recommendations and listen carefully to meet my expectations. The only one little problem I've run into is whatever chemical they use in the bathroom, doesn't smell good. It almost smells like pee. If I could give no stars for their service, I would. This review is not necessarily for their service because if they could even get to your house, it would be a miracle. I don't live in the bay area, and I called their service wanting to pay for a mother's day gift for my mom. I understood that they were too busy for my mom the week I planned, so I accepted the following week. Thus, I scheduled for two weeks in advance. The week before the scheduled cleaning, they called the change the time to two hours forward. Fine. THE NIGHT BEFORE the scheduled cleaning, they called to CANCEL! However, they just left a voicemail. When I tried calling them, they didn't answer their phone or call me back. They wrote me an email saying they were sorry. When someone writes an email rather then calling, they know they did something wrong. The email offered a time for the following week. They did not even offer me PRIORITY scheduling considering they cancelled on me TWICE. I think I was pretty accommodating. I just wanted someone to come out. Several weeks in advance is pretty reasonable on my part. I would not recommend dealing with this company. Their lack of professionalism speaks volumes about they way they do business (and who knows what they actually do when they clean their house since they expressed that they would rather clean when no one was home...). read more

I have two small children, a husband who travels for work and I work part time. As my kids have gotten bigger, it is harder and harder to keep up with the deep cleaning required to keep my sanity. My husband is a huge help but has more responsibility at work so started looking around for a cleaner. I have tried friends' cleaners and they take forever and often are pricey because they already have a full schedule. (and often not reliable) I found SVHC on Yelp and called Ken and he called me back right away even during the holidays. He even texted me a message to say he got my message which was very helpful. He came to our home for an estimate and was very professional and very very nice. We scheduled a deep clean first before agreeing to biweekly cleanings and were very pleased with the results. They came right on time, took exactly the amount of time they said it would take. Nothing was broken or disheveled and the place looked amazing. There was Maria and Stephanie at our house. They introduced themselves, were very personable and covered every last spot. We have laminate floors throughout which is a huge job in of itself, and they looked great. They cleaned our microwave, stove, window sills, moved couches and rugs and furniture. It was very thorough. My other favorite things is that every week, Ken says he will email a workorder so I can confirm the cleaning and I can add special notes to the workorder for that week in case there is anything extra or special I would like them to do. This is an easy way for me to keep in touch with a supervisor and the lines of communication are easy to reach. As a busy mom of a 1 year old and almost 4 year old, knowing I can contact someone vie email or text makes it very easy to not have any miscommunications. I will try to post an update after I have had two or three biweekly cleanings. Oh and by the way, the price is WAY better than what all of my friends pay for not so great weekly cleaners. It was an easy "sell" to my husband with the price being right for us and him seeing the benefit of us not spending hours each weekend cleaning the house. read more

I needed to have a 2/2 950 sq. ft condo cleaned in a hurry and Ken promptly scheduled an appoinment for the next day between 12 - 12:30pm, after he came by to provide a very reasonable quote of $95 for a basic cleaning. He is very professional and courteous. I felt very comfortable talking to him. He's a great salesman with very appealing marketing and advertising. Definitely a cut above the rest in my dealings with contractors. Upon providing me with a quote that was already professionally printed, I was pleased to find out that I didn't have to pay by check or cash and could use my credit card. I asked my mom to let the cleaners in and to be there by 12pm. Nobody called or came by at 12:42pm, so I called and left a message to find out what happened. Ken called back and said that they had a big job and that they were on the way and that he would be there no later than 1:15pm. I was very upset because my mom had been waiting there since 12pm and he should have at least called, since the appointment was scheduled between 12 - 12:30pm. They finally got there and I was again disappointed to find out that there was only 1 maid and I was told that there would be 2. All I ask for is honesty. He told me that they would take 3 hours and I couldn't understand because the place wasn't that dirty and I already had the carpets in the bedroom professionaly deep cleaned. As long as it's cleaned, whatever. Once the cleaning was done and I came for inspection. I noticed a lot of misses but Ken made sure to take care of those items, which satisfied me. He also told that he wanted 100% satisfaction and if there was anything that he missed to let him know and that they would take care of it free of charge. I appreciated that but at the same time, I wasn't 100% impressed with the cleanliness. The cleaning was average but not great, thus 3 stars. I guess you get what you pay for. Maybe if I paid more for deep cleaning it would have been better. The reason that I didn't need deep cleaning was beause I had just had it professionally cleaned less than 3 months ago from the previous tenants. read more

They did an excellent job on both bathrooms, cleaned the fans, did an awesome job in the kitchen with the appliances. After they cleaned and left, I noticed a cabinet that was overlooked in the kitchen. I emailed bert apologizing for not seeing it in the walk thru after. I sent out 4 quote requests through yelp and Silicon Valley not only got back to me first but with a thorough and complete quote. Best of all, they could work within my schedule! The ladies showed up right on time and could not be sweeter. The job looked a little overwhelming but the ladies attacked it and got it done, even the stuff I didn't ask for. In my quote request I gave them a detailed list of what I needed and went over it again when they got there. I've used The Maids in the past but Silicon Valley did a much better job for less money and restrictions. Sadly I'm moving out of the area but if I wasn't I I would use them again. read more

Dan and his staff did a great job cleaning our 2 bedroom condo, and at a reasonable price. He was friendly, and communicated his cleaning processes well. Never again. Very efficient, professional service whose owner accompanies and works with the crew; highly attentive to detail and very thorough, very communicative about arrival times etc. Sounds awesome, huh? However, my house has all wood floors. The first time this crew came to clean, they left all the floors sopping wet. I don't mean a bit damp, I mean water standing in puddles on the floor. My 86yo mother went around with a towel trying to mop it up. I spoke to Ken, one of the owners, and the person who came with the crew to do my house, about the issue, and asked that the next time he make sure that the floors be damp-mopped and NOT left wet. He gave me a 5 minute spiel about how many multi-million dollar mansions he and his crew cleaned which had far nicer wood floors than mine did, and had never had any complaints. "I KNOW how to clean wood floors!" he asserted. Despite his strong feelings about his methods, he agreed to accommodate my request, and went to far as to say he would bring in a buffer that would "absorb" any moisture left after the mopping. I went off to an appointment while they cleaned, returning home after they had finished to discover that they had again left the floor extremely wet. My mother had spoken to Ken prior to the crew leaving, asking that they do something to get rid of the water (she was concerned about slipping and falling, as well as about damage to the wood). Ken apparently became quite heated and raised his voice in responding to her, again insisting that there was nothing wrong with the floor. My 16yo daughter, who was home the whole time, told me that Ken had been extremely rude. Who cares if you have a high-tech communications, booking and billing process and an English-speaking owner/crew if you are going to display that kind of deplorable behavior to your customers?I had had a different service for 13 years prior to using Silicon Valley House Cleaning, and not once in all that time had any crew EVER left a floor in that condition, or raised their voices to argue about a concern or request.
