So not relaxing. They played what I thought was ADs. Turns out it was all nail and pedicure videos. On a loud volume. Not relaxing at all and a lot of them were pedicure transformations which showed disgusting feet and toes. Very unappealing and made me uncomfortable. Then when I'm drying she is arguing with someone. Even my mom was appalled. She also argued with me about having gel or regular on my toes or not. I had DC regular polish on that I just did the day before so I didn't look stupid going in public. It's always hard to take off my big toes. And so she pulled the electric nail file out to take off and told me it would cost $10 to remove. I know I used regular polish and no lamp. lol. But she insisted. So a $40 pedi went to $50 in a snap. Way more than I wanted to spend. I thought maybe the massage would be worth it since all the videos talked about the massage. NOOOOO I felt like I didn't even get a massage at all. I told her I like lots of pressure and she literally looked at the other nail lady and laughed. Exchanged words. I didn't even get one. My mom says the same thing. I just moved here from another state and have been to this salon twice. The name in itself should be changed. Spa where? It's so gross in here-from the peeling sofas and arm rests to flies in the over full trash can. I got a full set and mediocre pedicure the first time, but I wanted to give another try because they were nice. This second time I went my nails were done really messy and I decided not to go back. One week after my first fill in my middle finger nail came completely off. I came and brought the nail with me and the owner/nail tech had me wait 15 minutes because she was the only one doing nails in front. Fine. I waited. Read a magazine. I give her the loyalty card she wrote on to tell her the color I had. She can't read it and then picks the color she thinks it is with an attitude starts on my fingernail. She asked if she could cut my real nail AGAIN. I simply ask why and she says "I've been doing nails for 25 years and I know it's better!" Ok, I'm thinking I've been getting mine done for 25 years -your point? But i say nothing. She snatched my hand and threw down the clippers and started an overlay. Why ask me if I can't say no? Her customer service was horrible to entire time she's twisting my finger in ways it doesn't twist. When she's finished the nail is a different color then the others on the nail bed. I told her I didn't like it. She goes into a rant about how nails don't last forever and I'm basically lucky she wasn't charging me. My nails were not even due for a fill in yet. I told her I had no problem paying for a nail fix done right and not rushed. She told me she has to charge to keep her business going and I could leave if I wasn't paying for the clean break of a nail she was so upset to fix. "I took 20 min to fix your nail!" I told her I drove 20 mins to get it fixed and waited 15. No apologies no nothing just attitude the entire time. She also said "I don't need your money"when I insisted on just paying so she could keep her lights on. At that point I ripped every loyalty an discount card she's ever tried to give me and left it on her desk. This is the most ridiculous trip to the nail salon and I strongly suggest not going there. They aren't the cleanest and their customer service is horrible. Save your money and spend it where they appreciate it. read more

I paid over $60 for a new set of dip nails and they didn't even last a week. After just a few days, the glue on my thumb nail started lifting and then after about a week, my pinky nail broke off horizontally and broke my real nail off about halfway down my nail bed. It was super painful. On top of all that, the person who did my nails didn't even pick out the right color so I had reddish/orange nails instead of pink nails. This whole experience was not fun and o do not recommend going here. read more

Not only was it way overpriced. $85 for dip w/basic design &( 2 nails on each hand) 1 tip plus they charged me $10 to remove my nails which i always thought were covered in the new set price you paid. The lady in the first seat on the left needs to learn how to talk to clients. very unfriendly and almost talks to you like you're a bother. I only went back because they said I had a 1 week warranty. My nails stared having minor issues (chips by the 6th day) on Saturday my middle nail fell off. Never had this happen from my last salon. I went back today & they would not honor their warranty because I didn't come in on Saturday. I told the lady I work 2 jobs. She said it don't matter it was outside of the week. First I got my toes done. The lady cut my toe nails too short, made them look stuby. She did a terrible job painting, it looked all jagged. I made her redo it but still not happy with the results. Then I asked gel nails, I even wrote it down while signing in. I get that people have different techniques of doing nails, so I was letting her do her thing. I realize that she is doing "dip" nails, and I got upset because this isn't what I wanted. The looks of my finger nails were not bad but from the side their very wonky and dented. read more

I asked for pricing and to use the restroom as I am pregnant. While I am heading back to the counter, my phone rang so I stepped outside for a private phone call. When I stepped outside the woman behind the counter started demanding that I stay and use her services and leave my phone with her while I got my friend.( we were shopping at the TJ Max next door) At this point I walked off. This woman followed me all of the way into TJ Max screaming at me. Thankfully TJ Max security was there to step in as this woman seemed like she was going to physically assault me. I have never encountered anyone at a business harass me in such a way that I didn't want to go back. Got both mine and my daughter's nails done here. It's been just since Saturday evening (now, 5 days later) and my shellac is wrecked. My nails are snagged and I've had to refile/shape them. The lady was curt and really rough on my daughter- she cut her down in the cuticle area- my daughter left bleeding. I was very disappointed because I had told my daughter how nice it was getting shellac- now she thinks it's always going to be a painful, awful experience getting her nails done. I paid $ 70.00 for me and my daughter just five days ago. Now she's dissapointed, I'm dissatisfied and going to be out another $40 bucks to have my nails properly cared for. High points: The massage was good. They don't use a drill to remove the old shellac. They soak it off and hand file/scrape. read more

Definitely not coming back.. The paint job is awful. The lady who painted them was rushing, didn't put any time or effort into the nails. The shaping barely looks like coffin nails. And all of this cost $57, even though I expressed all my dislikes, I still got charged that amount. The nails look decent in pictures but really ugly in person. read more

This place is soooo dirty and unsanitary! This was my first visit and certainly my LAST! It is so gross and discussing. They use old worn-out emery boards and foam filers, they were literally falling apart and so dirty. All equipment and items were filthy. The floor, chairs, tables and counters were covered in old dust from nails. Dirt everywhere! Discussing products, she kept adding polish remover to the clear coat which resulted in my polish flaking off. No mask were worn and she was right in my face talking on the phone. It was hard to pick between 2 or 3 stars. The people here are really nice. And they have a cool loyalty rewards program, you get discounts the more you go. But besides that my nails just.....aren't good. Not the WORST nails I've ever gotten but also not the best. My acrylic is uneven in some places, nails aren't all the same length, paint job is not even as well, and I have paint going over top of my cuticles which means the gel will most likely peel in that area. also did not give me cuticle oil. My tech was the older man and he was really sweet though. They didn't burn my nail beds or cut my cuticles so that's good as well. read more

I'm a Florida girl thru and through! With that being said, while I may not get tanned, I'm very picky about appearance and how I like my nails to be done. While I haven't been able to show my feet off as much here in Louisville, it's one of the staples in my routine. I'm ready for Spring and to me well kept feet is an important part of your representation. I mean... who likes ugly feet, right? #YUCK Anyhow, moving to Louisville, I needed a nail salon immediately. I found this place on my fourth try and it is just about what I need for my routine. The first time I went my husband came in with me and the owner always asks how he's doing. They obviously hint to his coming back for some services (lol), but they're never pushy. I've only ever had to wait for a max of 10 minutes and I get all of the attention I deserve when I'm in the chair. They aren't the most fancy joint out there, but they more than get the job done. I always leave satisfied. They have a great array of colors, their chairs are big and comfy, the technicians are professional and a regular pedicure includes hot stones on the sole of your feet. If there is anything I would change about the place... it's the tacky blue paint color. The setting is professional and inviting but that color is just not helping the atmosphere as much as it was intended. Nevertheless, when I find the right nail salon it really becomes a family. I knew going in the place had a 3.5 rating and that's what you get. Got a regular mani/pedi. Pedicure was fine with sterile instruments. Nothing spectacular. Manicure was not great. He asked if I wanted my nails cut, I said a little and he cut one down to my finger (nothing painful but bye bye nail!). At that point you gotta go with the rest. I used to think this place was really good and it was, when it was under a different management. The women who did my nails was nice but told me she had an appointment in ten minutes and did my nails in a rush. The polish looked awful, the guy did two fingers then went to the other hand and did the same two on the other. You could see the cracks from where the polish wasn't put on well enough. I wish that he would of painted them more then two times because it was awful. read more

Unfortunately, this nail salon has made changes to their pedicure options. It's a decent, affordable pedicure but they got rid of their hot stone massage. That was sad. They have a regular and a deluxe option. The deluxe option came with a nice scrub massage but without that stone massage it was just ok. Again just a nice affordable pedicure. It was my boyfriend's first time getting a pedi, they were patient with how wiggly he was and very understanding and not getting irritated with him for not sitting still. Nice people, but services are inconsistent. One week my Dip is perfect. The next week it may be too thick(depending on who does it). Dip color faded in 7 days and 2 nails split. Went back and nails were fixed, but couldn't do anything about the color fading. Not a HAPPY CUSTOMER. Never experienced the color fade anywhere else. I think sometimes they mix different brands and you can definitely tell the difference. Started going here because of the price which is good. You get what you pay for! Today was my first time visiting Golden Nails and I am very pleased with the service I received! I also appreciated that everyone in the place was kind of quiet and not real chatty. That may be a turn off for some, but the relaxation of a mani/pedi is a close second to having nice nails as to why I get those services! The establishment was very clean and organized as well. If I could give a zero I would. First of all, the nail tech Lucy is fantastic. It is the owner who is so rude. They give you a card that they stamp when you spend $30. After 6 visits you get $25 off. I handed the owner my fuller stamped card and she accused me of going on amazon and buying a stamp and stamping it myself. The salon had several customers while she humiliated me in front of everyone. The nail tech kept saying that she would pay for my nails because she knows me because I always go to her and she saw how horrible the owner was treating me. I told the owner that I do not lie and that she was hurting my feelings by accusing me of going on Amazon and buying a stamp. She said that you could buy it for $10. I would have to be pretty hard up to search down a stamp on amazon to save $15. That is not the first time she has been rude. My nails had chipped after a few days and they tell you that if they do ,come in and they will touch it up for free. So I went in and my regular tech wasn't in so she did it. She grabbed my hand roughly and said $5.00. I said fine ,even though I wasn't supposed to pay. I didn't want to start any drama. I will never go back the that place and give that nasty rude woman another dime. It too bad, because I really like everyone who works there but she crossed the line when she accused me of cheating. I came here for the first time and got gel on my nails and polish on my toes. Less than a week later my nails and toes started to chip. I went in to see if they could fix them for me. The lady gave me an attitude about the whole thing and was arguing with me about it. They were going to charge me to fix my nails but do my toes for free. For free they were only going to paint over the chipped toes nails, and not remove the chipped polish and re-polish them. Sloppy and lazy way to "fix" my nails. So I walked out.
