These people are so rude it's pretty incredible! No wonder the ratings are so bad here. Do not go to this place! Whoever the short Asian lady is that works here is the worst! I simply came in to get a price on their services and to set up an appointment. They don't take appointments & that's ok. However, they have 2 different prices. One for during the week and one on the weekends. What the price doesn't show is the prices for gel. I asked that own question and this woman was instantly angry. "I'm not going to argue price".. excuse me ma'am but I'm not trying to argue. I'm just trying to get an understanding so when i come in tomorrow i can have the correct amount of money. I've been going to golden nails for pedicures for a long time! Recently tried getting acrylics for the first time there and I really like them. They explained the process to me well and I feel very comfortable continuing to get my nails done there. The couple that owns the salon is very sweet. They also do specials Monday-Thursday so things are a lot cheaper than on the weekends! read more

Walked in at 4:30. Signed in. There were 3 ladies in pedi chairs. No problem. I had a good experience the first time I was here. I was willing to wait. The one lady who runs the store turned the sign to closed at about 4:45. My husband was meeting me there we were planning on going to dinner. My husband arrived. We picked out my color. Another lady walked in. She was with someone that was already in a chair - that lady had signed her in. No problems. I was willing to wait. I thought while waiting my husband and I could go next door and get dinner. I asked how long they thought the wait would be. They couldn't tell me. I was then told they were closed and if I left I couldn't come back. Well. Alright then. I left. I will never come back. read more

went to get a Pedi and Mani service and they where so rude, 4 hours in there and the worst service ever! Then they hurt my fingers and I have cuts and infections, had to see my doctors and put on antibiotics today! I am so outraged! Then the even cut my nails so short and they where so beautiful and long, and now they polish is chipping and they are breaking the first day and I even got the dipping/gel and spend $110! Do NOT ever go there its NOT sanitized and they are horrible and the rudest people ever on top of horrible service!!!! I received NOTHING and NOT even an apologize! They didn't even acknowledge me when I said what they did to me ! I told the manager and she just ignored my complaint! It first started when they soaked my polish in a bowl for an hour and then the napkin stocked to my hands! The other gilrl in formnt of me didn't even have to soak, they where kind and did the finger clip methods and that is what they should of done to me!!! I asked the manger for help and she literly grabeed me a shoved me and took the bowl and gave me a towel to with nail polish to remove it! I am so disgused with horrible service, infections from cuts, polish chipping and may nails cut down to so short they hurt! I asked for my length and approved it and the girls that took care of me would NOT even answer me and received no help from anybody when I asked I just could NOT wait to leave and told them I am filing a complaint and they didn't care or apologize! read more

Golden Nails is probably the nicest nail salon in the Kent / Stow area. I tried to call ahead of time to make an appointment for my friend and I, but the store is walk-ins only. I got to the salon a few minutes before my friend did and tried to sign us both in, but they wouldn't let me put her name on the wait list even though she would be there soon. This is the reason I'm giving the salon four stars instead of five. Overall the salon was very clean, and I saw each of the nail technicians scrubbing their station with bleach after each customer, which was reassuring. They also have a very large selection of nail polish colors - this was probably the most colors I've ever seen in one place. My nail technician was very friendly, and I chatted with her while she painted my nails. I got a raspberry shellack color, and am very satisfied with the way it turned out. The entire manicure probably took about 15 minutes, so it was really quick. The total was $35, which wasn't super cheap, but I've also paid more for a manicure before. I don't get manicures often, but next time I do i'll go back to Golden Nails. read more

After a two hour wait for a mani pedi for my daughter and I salon tech indicated he didn't realized I wanted a mani too even though was on sign in sheet. Given the shitty result of my daughters.... I guess I should be glad. This is what $76 of services looks like waste of three hours total and left without the services I went in for beyond pissed never again! read more

Had my very first experience at Golden Nails today. I'm actually writing this review as I wait for my nails to dry. Every time I decide to try nail salon for the first time, I opt for a pedicure before I get a full set. One of the main reasons I do this is because the whole pedicure experience really sets the deal for me. I'm not sure who did my pedicure, but he was muscular and had a mustache. Hands down the best pedicure of my entire life. Lol He really knew what he was doing, and it felt like I was in pedicure heaven. I really need to have my husband take some tips from the guy. Spa pedicure is $25 (plus tax & fee to use credit). It includes a foot soak, leg/ foot massage, lotion, scrub, and polish. I will definitely be back! read more

First of I would like to say the place is huge and decor is nice. Several chairs and tables. The problem is customer service and staff. My wife and I walked in and wasn't greeted in anyway, also their were only 2 people for entire huge place. No communication with customers at all until it's your time. I was in the market to get my first ever pedicure and remembered seeing this place. I walked in and was not greeted at all. I was hoping that someone would acknowledge me because I wasn't sure what a pedicure would entail. I immediately noticed a sign addressing customers explaining that if more than 3 people where in the waiting area, not to expect them to be able to estimate a wait time. That was enough for me to do a 180 and take my business else where. This place could be a five star business but first impressions for customer service speak volumes. TERRIBLE service!!! I made appointments for myself,my MIL and toddler for her first mani/pedi. We showed up on time and had to wait almost 30 minutes, the kids chairs weren't working, they didn't have enough people to do our nails all together (which is why we made an appointment) and I had to sit with my feet in cold water for a half hour to get a half ass pedicure then had an antsy 3 year old who had to sit through another hour+ while I had my pedicure and manicure done. WHILE we were still at the nail salon, my daughter's finger polish started coming off already! The polish was just sliding off of her nails as a whole. The tech messed up my gel polish which made the manicure take even longer (things happen) but still didn't fix it after all the extra time. I called the next day and received no call back then finally called back a few days later and they were SO RUDE!!! They told me that kids nail polish doesn't last and they recommend just doing it at home (but they charge $35 for children) and they didn't have a manager and couldn't give their boss's name and work hours to me for me to contact him/her and after I questioned them they just hung up. When I called back they ignored my call. This is the WORST experience I've ever had at a nail salon, ESPECIALLY for how expensive they are. They are so unprofessional and don't value their relationships with customers. Judging by all the other bad reviews, they don't plan on changing their work ethic! I have been to Golden Nails a number of times and can say that every experience has been a great one. I have never had a bad experience at this salon and have even recommended it to friends and family who love it as much as I do. I got my nails done by Kim and she is so sweet and personable. She does such an awesome job! Leah has also done mine and she is just as great! This place has a reasonable price and does good work. I have never had a bad experience. The wait time is sort of lengthy so I typically sign in and go get Starbucks or wander around Target in the plaza behind the salon. They also charge a $3.50 fee for credit cards so I always try to have cash on me before I go. read more

I like the finish product but the problems are getting to the finish products! They take way too long! It's a huge store and they only have 2 people working!!! I got here around 10am it wasn't till after 11 I got seated I could honestly cook a five course meal in the time it would take them to have me wait...AND when I came I wrote my name down on the sheet and sat down to wait there were two girls ahead of me and when they where being done some other girl without an appointment came in she wrote her name down on the sheet and was chosen to come back BEFORE me! Spa pedicure - guy who did my toenails cut my nail too deep and punctured my skin. It hurt, but did not bleed. Then he put acetone on it, which made it sting very badly. The guy blamed it on an "ingrown nail" (wasn't aware I had one). He filed my toenails poorly and my toenails are misshapen and uneven. Not happy with the way my pedicure turned out. Disappointed at the quality, doubt I'll return back for more services. On a side note: color selection wasn't that great (too many of the same colors, mostly red and pink) and They charge you for using a CC. read more

NOPE. I have never left what SHOULD be a positive experience like a nail appointment so disappointed in my life. After waiting upwards of an hour and a half, having zero eye contact or words exchanged with me past my name being cattle-called off of a waiting list, the $45 shellac french manicure I finally got held up for approximately 20 hours. About halfway through my first day of work (for which I got the manicure to look nice) I had a coworker ask what was on my nails. The tips were completely stained, uneven, and peeled so that the unwanted color was underneath the polish. They refused to do any repairs or refunds when I stopped there on my way home from work, or apply clear coat to the tips so as to prevent any further discoloration, claiming that "they weren't responsible for what I did outside of the salon." Like the rough and dirty job of sitting at my desk and taking notes...All of this could have been fine had a single person been pleasant or business-minded at any point in this poor exchange, but instead they were rude and unconcerned. As a student, spending this type of money to be so disregarded as a customer was painful. I was also made to pay a $3.86 credit card charge for using a DEBIT card as payment, a debit card that they will incur no expense on their behalf in order to justify such a charge. I LOVE this nail salon and very technician there. I've never had a bad experience, never a bad pedicure, and always, reliably, WONDERFUL gel manicures. However, the wait times are unacceptable. I just can't wait two hours every time. And there have been times I've waited over two hours and still hadn't been called back. They do not take appointments and they always seemed understaffed. I think that's the real issue. They have tons of space, good ventilation, wonderful technicians, just not enough workers for the amount of business they have. And it doesn't seem to matter what day or what time I go, they're always busy. I'll pay more to avoid these wait times. Never ceases to amaze me how rude the owner can be. Last year (yes, one year ago - not one to write negative reviews, but today put me over the top), I signed in to get a pedi. I expected a long wait as usual, but when it turned into over an hour, and saw people bypassing me, I asked about it. Turns out they made a mistake and crossed my name off to show that I was already done. O.K. - mistakes happen. So assumed they would take me next, and the owner said No, I would have to wait again since other people signed in. Of course I said - "but you made the mistake, and I've been here over an hour". She refused to take me next! I then said, "can I at least put my name back down, and come back, and she said No! Needless to say, I didn't go back until today. Decided to go with a couple friends to get a mani. Again, waited well over an hour. They finally called us, and right before we sat down, I asked to use the restroom real quick. My nail tech was going to be another minute anyway. Was gone 2 minutes, and the owner told the tech not to wait, and take the next person! That was it. I left, and I'll never go back again. Have been coming here for a year, they have weekday specials from Monday-Thursday for walk-ins only. There are multiple technicians, but lately there have only been 2-3 working the last 5 times I've come and I have acrylics and usually only one technician does acrylics which causes the wait to be extremely long. The last 4 visits I ended up leaving because the wait was so long. The service depends on the technician and the day, but overall I've had acceptable service and was pleased with the technicians. read more

I decided to come here because they have cheap nail fills. Ben did my nails. I'm pretty pleased at the way they turned out and i will return. He did make me bleed a little with the drill, but I know he didn't do it on purpose or anything. My pedi was a good experience however my manicure was absolutely awful. I got a young lady who seemed not happy about anything. She was rough with my hands and kept scolding me that my hands were too tense. She kept giving me attitude and was looking out the door while she was brushing things on my finger( which should've been my nail). She did the French tip by hand and it's not consistent by any means on each finger. I couldn't wait to get out of there because she was that bad. I would not recommend going for a mani. I have been going here since 2009. Because they have good quality and a nice salon, I have dealt with the brash, rude manner with which I've been treated, but I honestly don't know how much longer I can put up with their attitude. Now that Kim has most of her family working there, customer service, what little there was, has gone down hill. Her sister is one of the rudest people there. Perhaps she needs to put her son or brother-in-law in charge. They are much more personable and equipped to deal with the public at large. On my last visit a few days ago, I didn't think they could be any ruder. From the way I was treated from when I first walked in the door to the time I left made me question why I was there. To add to it, as the tech was doing my fill, she burned my finger, then abruptly and forcefully pulled my finger back in her grasp so she could continue her assault. One of the times before that, Kim's brother-in-law did the fill. I've never spent so long in the chair, and to add to it, for a few days afterwards, my fingernails felt bruised and sore from cuts on the side. Feeling a burning sensation from cuts can in of itself be a concern because I've never seen them change out the tools from one client to the next. In fact, on many of my recent visits, my fingers have burned from tiny cuts caused by their tools. It is not a feel good feeling to go into a place and be treated rudely, which I have overlooked because of quality, but now they are struggling with quality issues based on my last visits. read more

Fastest pedicure I have ever gotten - cut my toe nail too short, barely any soaking time, and no scrub was used. I was then put under a dryer that was blowing freezing air. When paying, I was informed of the credit card "fee" - I tried to pay part cash and part credit card to avoid the fee but was informed I could not do this. So a $30 pedicure is really closer to $37. The seats were comfortable and it gave me time to pick out my color from their large selection. The lady who did my pedicure was friendly and made sure I was comfortable. The pedicure left my feet feeling smooth and very nice. My polish looks GREAT, I am so happy with the results. It was only $25 for my pedicure which I thought was a great price. A bunch of my co workers and I had made this place home for quite some time. Literally EVERY two weeks about 1/2 our staff go in and get mani/pedis. We work in the service industry so honestly are patience is insane so the wait times didn't seem to bother us much. Its a very nice set up but let me fill you in on the terrible parts. I will be the first one to admit that I (at the time) didn't know much about nails and guarantee you, that has now changed. I went in with my co workers for our usual fills and pedis and sat down once my name was called and got started. Everything was going well until I looked down instead of continuing conversation with friends. My acrylics were literally POINTING UPWARD! I was completely unsatisfied but also embarrassed. I decided I would come back the following day to speak with the owner (or so I thought) about fixing my nails. So the next day comes, my nails were catching on everything because again.. Im not kidding you.. they were pointing upward.. but I walked in and asked to speak with Kim (who claimed she was the owner in conversation)... granted I had just gotten off work so it was about 2hrs before close but that was ample enough time to fix my nails. I immediately got yelled at that, "There are no requests this late." So I explain to this lady that my nails are JACKED up and she agrees they aren't what they should look like and starts speaking in their respected language. At this point all of the workers start yelling back and forth at each other. Judging the situation you could tell that the lady I was speaking with clearly felt TERRIBLE. Kim who claimed to be the owner didn't want anything to do with it so the lady sits me down at her table. I tell her she needs to take the nails off and just lay down new acrylic. I was told, "No No, that take like 45 minutes." I don't care how long it takes, I have gross looking nails that I cannot wear. I beg and plead for her to please make them look at least suitable until I can figure something else out since they were not working with me so she piles and I mean PILES more acrylic onto already laid acrylic. No joke, my acrylic was about 3/4" thick. If I dove in water they probably were heavy enough to make me sink! I tell the lady I am done I can't do this and Kim starts yelling at me about paying. I ask her why I would pay when they were fixing something they messed up extremely... she gave me $5 off and insisted I pay the other $20... I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN! The actual owner is a sweet heart and a very sweet lady but if she wants maintain an amazing image, she has to get her employees in check. Throughout the last couple weeks, they have managed to lose 8 more guests (co workers) and counting from completely whacky visits. There are better places with better pricing and better costumer service, I do however wish the owner luck.. shes so amazing. read more

This place is disorganized and a real joke. We arrived, signed in, and were told it would be a 45-60 min wait. I asked if we did an errand in the strip mall and could come back in 45. Sure, no problem. Arrived back and waited another 45 min and then they started taking people way down the list and we were next. I said they could take us or we would leave. The pedi was good, not great, and the manicure awful. Chipped on the second day. And yes, they charge you a service fee unless you pay cash. Not worth the wait or the $$. read more

My favorite place to get my nails done in the stow/kent area. I'll admit a couple weeks ago I tried a new place and had a horrible experience, I'll stay loyal to this place. I read previous reviews where people are complaining about the wait time, but that just shows they are a local favorite. I would rather wait at a place that people obviously want to wait for than go somewhere that has no customers. I've had my nails done by every person that works here and will gladly have any one of them do my nails again. I always bring in Pinterest pics of nails and they are always so willing to do what I want. These girls know how to do nails, they are quick, and friendly. Great selection of polishes for gel nails. I can't comment on acrylic services because I've never had them. My only complaint is that they run out of gel polishes and don't let you know before you choose so at times I have had to pick out a couple paints. Come ready to wait most of the time, but they offer free wifi, so it tends to not seem too long. The woman Jen who does eyebrows is amazing too! You normally need to make an appointment ahead of time with her, but she's great. She spends a lot of time on your brows measuring them, waxing, plucking, cutting your brows down to perfection and will fill them in for you if you want too! Another PLUS, they're open on Sundays!
