My daughter and I went for pedis. The older woman who did mine did such a horrible job. My nails were cut unevenly, some short , some long, some angled. The polish was so thick and didn't cover the entire nail. I left on tears. To top it off I'm pretty sure they were talking shit about me in another language when I asked for it to be fixed. I had my bridal nails done here to correct very thick nails from Xtreme nails. These are the best budget nails around (great value). I love the sparkle that the tech added to the nails! The polishes used is OPI crawfish and Reveal gold glamorous (with an ombré effect). The gel application is a bit uneven but acceptable, particularly for the bargain price! read more

I relocated to Brecksville, Ohio two days ago and needed a manicure. I wish I would have read the reviews prior to going to this place. This was my first time there. The owner was loud and rude. The nail tech rushed and handled my hands as if she did not want to touch a Black person's hands. The owner, who did not do the manicure, stated that they did not do buff shine, only a clear coat. However, the nail tech buffed off my nail bed. This was the worst manicure I have EVER had. Also, while there, I heard another nail tech talking loudly with another patron about race issues at the Louis Vuitton store in Paris, France. This was a HUGE red flag! They were 45 minutes late for my appointment. A full set of acrylics and ended up taking 90 minutes. My nails are very thick and are uneven. Employees complaining about past clients and calling them names and making jokes about how much they want more money. Place is cluttered and dirty. I won't be back. read more

This place is filthy! The nail polish is old and the technicians don't seem to know what they are doing. They use electric files and remove several layers of your nail. I had not one, not two, but THREE different technicians working on my gel removal and regular polish change without manicure (I was fearful that the equipment would not be clean/sanitized based on the atmosphere or this shop). The top coat was so thick that when they put me under the dryer half of my naiils had ripples. I couldn't bare to be there for another second, so I left and removed my polish as soon as I got home. See picture. I have neveer in the 20+ years of getting my nails done had this happen anywhere with a regular (or gel) polish. I wouldn't go there again if they were the only nail salon in the state. read more

I took my friend here for her first pedicure and manicure everything was ok until she went outside and her feet and hands were different colors. We went back inside to tell the owner who did her manicure she was not interested in fixing the problem and was very rude. We both got pedicures and manicures and they were more interested in selling us gel manicures than making sure we were happy with the service. The funny thing is they have signs posted saying tell us if you are unhappy, we want happy customers. I won't be back and will recommend my friends go elsewhere. read more

They did a great job with my pedicure which is the only reason they get two stars. My gel manicure did not turn out. It was discolored and splotchy. They tried to say it was my fault! Sunscreen hair spray lotion changes the color. In all the years I have done gel polish I have never experienced these things discoloring the polish!! She begrudgingly buffed off the sealer and insisted I pick a similar but darker shade to hide the discoloration. Mind you-the guy that did the polish had already put 3-4 coats on my nails. She glops on another coat and tells me "it will be kind of thick". What she should have done?? Removed the polish and started over. I paid $50 for this manicure (if you can call it that - they do some cuticle work and trimming and shaping but no lotion on the hands or anything that resembles a true manicure). The discoloring is gone but you can tell it is a different color underneath on the edges. The polish is so thick it looks terrible. I am going to have to go this weekend and PAY someone else to take it all off and redo it because I work in Ohio but live in Tennessee and won't be back in my office for a week. Bottom line: this place is expensive and did not do the right thing to make my nails look good. The glop on my nails is clearly a reflection of their shop. I won't be returning. read more

My mother and I have been going to Master Nails for more than 5 years for gel manicures and Classic pedicures. The staff is friendly and professional. They do excellent work. And they guarantee the gel manicure for 2 weeks. If I get a chip within that period, they repair the nail for free. And they're always nice about it and are very accommodating. Occasionally my mother would get an ingrown toenail. They've done a better job of fixing it than the podiatrist! I highly recommend Master Nails. read more

I have never been treated so poorly at a nail salon. I was asked three times why I was there, whether me or the customer after me signed in first, when getting a basic manicure she stopped three times to answer the phone, moved quickly and dig into my nails until the point I said it hurt, then has the audacity to go work on someone else before she painted my nails. I told her before she painted that I was leaving and would pay for the service she had already done. She charged me full price, said nothing and didn't apologize. I have been going to see Tina at Master Nails for almost three nails. This is the only salon I will go to for manicures or pedicures. I love going there so much! Tina does the perfect gel mani - it lasts for three weeks with no chipping, and the shape is exactly right. I've also seen Tanya, May, Chan and others and every single time I am so happy with my nails. Not to mention, the entire staff is kind, welcoming and the conversation there is always so much fun. I have to seriously debunk the previous reviews. Honestly, I do not feel qualified to counter these folks, but my experiences have been so different. I also talked to some of my Brecksville friends, and they had nothing but high praise. I typically have my nail services done at my salon / spa where I get my hair done in Westlake. It is a long haul. I had never been to a "nail place" only, but my daughter had at Beachwood Mall and really liked the convenience. I was hesitant to try one. Went into Master Nails a few weeks ago with my daughter because it was close to home and open on Sunday. Got a gel manicure and, yes, the bedside manner is different. However, I relaxed into it and had a great experience. My gel mani lasted weeks! May, my tech, gave me clear instructions on how to care for, and not strip, my nails. Even sent me home with a little emery board for touch-ups. My daughter, back at college, is also loving her nails. I thought these nail places were super cheap and cut rate - not so with Master Nails. The cost is below what I have been paying for a mani, but not dime store. Yes, this is an Asian owned and operated salon, so some of that culture is present. So what? Upon entering the salon, it does sort of feel like you should know what to do. "Pick a color - what do you want done?" It's right to the point but not harsh. I just replied - "do you want me to choose a gel color, because we would like gel manicures?" Smiles all around. I went back today and was looking forward to it! No appointment - all about me - just walked in. Got my nails re-done after 3+ weeks. Andy was my attendant. We joked around and he did everything correctly. When removing my gel he first sanded the top finish off (less acetone needed). Then he carefully wrapped each nail (not finger) in a cotton swab with acetone and tin foil. He did not let that sit too long and, like wall paper, carefully removed from each nail the polish. Moisturized every step of the way. Tools were clearly sterilized - I asked for the bathroom and wandered a bit :) I was so happy and having fun I added on a gell pedi. Holy cow, if there is a "happy ending" for a lady it was the hot towels laid over the feet and legs where Andy did some awesome deep tissue stuff. Wow. BRING CASH FOR THE TIP - the rest you can put on the card. I look forward to going back! read more

Horrible experience. Everyone was rude and rushed. They wouldn't even let us pick a color before they forced us to sit down. They rushed through everything and talked to each other the whole time. More like yelled back and forth at each other. We felt very uncomfortable and were less than satisfied. The nails were decent, but a bit sloppy. Also, the prices were a bit high; it was ridiculously expensive just to change the shape of my nails. It was really a terrible experience. We will not be returning. read more

I've been getting my nails done & pedis for years and have NEVER had such a bad experience-they used the "cheese grater" method to remove calluses (very poor job) and reused the pumice stone-unfortunately after I went home, I read the article in the plain dealer listing violations that some nail salons have been fined for-this salon would have many, many violations..list is endless, but beware! read more

I've been to many a nail salon in my time. I go back to ones that are 1) Clean, 2) Friendly, 3) Give quality manicures that last like they should for the money you pay. I wear acrylics but my daughter is blessed with beautiful natural nails and gets simple manicures. Master Nails meets all of my criteria for my "Be back" list. Some of the worst service I've had from a nail salon. We tried this salon because our normal salon was being remodeled. I had a pretty typical pedicure and my toes look great, but my nails are just awful. 3 different people did my nails, and it wasn't just someone wrapping them to get the polish off. The girl who was doing my nails got up in the middle and just walked away without saying anything, another girl cane over to attempt to shape them and then told me someone else was coming over from another salon to finish me up. I waited for a good 15 minutes before the person came. I got the dip powder, which I religiously get at my other salon, and the tech had NO CLUE how to apply it! Another tech was giving him instructions on how to do it, not to mention the price was significantly higher than my usual salon. My nails are uneven and look terrible. Went here for a full set of acrylics... i told the nail tech what i was hoping to try and she told me that the style i wanted is ugly and would make my fingers look fatter. Being as shocked as i was... i kept quiet and simply told her that since she had such an issue with doing a set of acrylics, id settle for a manicure. next she asked what color i chose and continued to insult it and how it was "so sheer".... to which i NO longer kept quiet and said "it would have looked better on the acrylics, but we aren't doing that".... FAST FORWARD not even 24 hours and my nail polish has already chipped. NEVER coming back again. read more
