Our little 18.5 year old Scruffles has some difficulty seeing and hearing now and over the years, she's had some traumatic grooming experiences (cowering, shaking when I went to pick her up, nails clipped too close to skin, whiskers shaved off!) She generally comes here twice a year-- mostly to get rid of her thick Winter Is Here of a coat. So, when we know we'll be down in this area, we try to schedule an appointment for her in advance. I always joke that getting her a full groom costs more than my hair, but as far as groomers go, they are reasonably priced. Her fur comes out clean-shaven and she is always so happy when we come to pick her up. They give her these cute bandanas and it just makes our hearts melt because yes, we lowly humans don't deserve them! Tip: Schedule your full grooming few weeks to a month in advance. We were told by another establishment last Wed (it's Monday) she would have to be shaved down to the skin in order for them to service us. The other establishment refused payment and handed me a wet shaking dog refusing to work on her, claiming she had knots in her hind quarters. THIS GROOMING SALON clearly knew how to groom our puppy in a mere 1.5 hours and were kind and honest throughout the process! I am aware with long haired dogs it is easy to get knots and happens frequently which is why we comb her daily, sometimes multiple times a day if wet outside. But irregardless there will always be some matt we miss or that happens on route etc. This doggie spa was nothing but amazing, fitting us in last minute and making our 7 month old Coton puppy beautiful and shorter to prepare for her spay this week. Unlike the other establishment who felt it necessary to slander and libel businesses that had nothing to do with them nor ever never serviced them (ex photography services served for newborn babies the past that have nothing to do with a dog groomer), THIS GROOMER was nothing but PROFESSIONAL. What a client does, did, or their personal business should have nothing to do with services being rendered, as it is completely irrelevant, and I am just so happy to report the kindness received from The Prince and Pawper grooming salon and store. I was not made to feel like I didn't have worth; I felt respected and valued which is extremely important. I have dealt with the worst unfortunately in the past, and my poor puppy was so traumatized last week with the former establishment, she had the runs when being groomed today, having to relive the trauma of being freezing and shaking and being forced to leave and denied service simply because we refused to shave our dog! (This was the prior establishment, not P&P!) Prince and Pawper has groomed other Cotons and knew how to deal with matts as they arrive. FIVE STARS FOR EXCELLENT SERVICE AND ACCOMMODATING OUR NEEDS. Our groomer in CO found them because they were certified and experienced. She talked to them about how to groom a Mi-Ki and they did it just as she requested. I particularly like that they only do one dog at a time and they aren't put in a cage. It takes about 1 1/2 hours and is pretty stress free for your dog.

The women who did his cut is 1 of 5 Master Groomers in Jersey. Long Review: I cant even express the gratitude that i have for the women that groomed my dog. Lets start off with the fact that my dog is extremely vicious (tiny but terrible). Me and my girlfriend have went from place to place trying to get his hair cut. we went EVERYWHERE! Petsmart, Petco, Shampooch.... etc. Even I was losing faith so i would try to cut his butt area while he slept.. no luck. We were told that we could use seditives on him so he would be more relaxed and i was kinda iffy of that but we got some anyway. He is a yorkie/pomeranian mix so his hair was getting really long. My gf's mom suggested a place she used to take her old dog and said "They work very well with aggressive dogs". So i said why not. On a whim I told my gf to take him there to see if they had any time available to fit him in. They said they were busy but that they would be able to work on him between appointments so we left him with hope in our hearts. she said it would take around 4 hours (which is understandable) and that she would "call us". Four hours passed and like any mother I began to worry so i made my gf call the place. She said she was just about to call and that we could come pick him up. When we got there she said that we shouldn't have called because it stresses her out. (which was the only thing that i was upset about because she could of just told us not to call but can you blame her? I can only imagine that amounts of people that call and are like "hows my baby?","what are you doing?", "why is it taking so long?","Blah Blah Blah".). Finally she came out with him and OMFFFFFFG the cutest little thing ever was looking me right in the face saying "take me outta here" lol. Im emotional so i started crying.. no lie my gf still makes fun of me for it. They did such an amazing job that i was like i need to let everyone know about this place.
