I've never seen a more consistently incompetent group of cooks. From the inability to follow basic instructions like no mayo or extra turkey, to nearly choking to death on a steak and cheese just now that was filled with massive chunks of non shredded steak no mistake is too shameful for this gaggle of amateur chefs, and that's to say nothing of the vile chicken parm sub who's piss poor construction defies clarification. This is no one time order, me and my staff have gotten food from there for years and for the last 8 months or so, the food has grown comically more inedible. Truly they are now worthy of zero stars in the kitchen, but the clerks are always very nice so I guess there's that. read more

I cannot believe how good the pizza is here. It's absurdly good. The sauce, crust, and cheese are all PERFECT. The slices are good, but for a real treat, order a pizza for yourself and get it at optimal doneness and temperature. Do not believe anyone that talks shit about the pizza here. I've had pizza all over this country and it definitely makes my top 10, possibly my top 5. It's very similar to Otto pizza out of Portland, Maine (which is in my top 3). I can't believe all the whiners talking about bad customer service. They don't give Michelin stars to gas stations you guys. Give them a break. I am lactose intolerant and yet sometimes I still get this pizza for myself as a little treat and deal with the consequences. It's worth it. I am 99% confident in saying this is the best pizza one can obtain in NH. Although I haven't tried every pizza within that radius, I've tried a representative sample and this is definitely an outlier (along with Stella's Italian Kitchen in Lyme, NH which is also weirdly extremely good). I am 100% confident in saying this is the best price to goodness ratio for pizza in the entire country. 10.99 for a "small" pizza that tastes better than most pizzas available in New York City for 3x the price is an incredibly good deal. I am 10000000% confident in saying this is the best pizza that can be obtained at a gas station, period. Please never change the way you make pizza!!!!! read more

I'm almost positive that one of the male 5 star reviewers works there. Stick to the beer, skip the pizza. Decent selection of produce & groceries, keeps you from needing to drive all the way into Meredith. For great food, go next door to the Inn. Great general store with a large selection of beverages (alcohol and non), a nice indoor seating area, and the best pizza I've had in NH since moving here a year ago. Sounds strange that the best pizza is from a general store, but it's true. I grew up in PA among Italians and finding good pizza in NH has been challenge. So far this is the best I've found. Sandwiches from the deli are good, but have too much bread. The bread to meat ratio is a bit off. Overall I really like this store and it's vibe. Check it out! read more

Loved this store! The deli was terrific. I had a turkey club, which was fantastic and made just the way I asked for it. People with me got chicken Parmesan sandwich/hero or sub. We loved what we got. The lines were not long at all, nor was the wait for the sandwiches. There are a lot of things in the store, including market items as well as souvenir items. We were traveling with my dogs, who eat healthy foods, so I was happy to find dog biscuits made from wholesome foods. Will definitely go there again! read more

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever received. I am a business owner and I like to support other local businesses, although I will not be supporting this store ever again. Linda, the cashier, was very rude and the bathrooms were disgusting. It's too bad because the store really looks inviting and homey. If they worked half as much as they talked you would get your food much faster. Really though, today I waited a half our for my food. Three of them there, lets say they make 12 dollars an hour, thats 18 bucks of pay for the half hour I was there, my sandwich was 6 dollars, -12.... No one else was there. What a great place to stop if you are short on time and in need of random drug store items, gas and lunch. On our way up to the Baker River, we wanted a quick bite so we'd have more time to swim. Who wants to sit inside a restaurant when it is finally gorgeous outside? I saw on yelp that they had decent pizza and subs here, so we gave it a try. While it is a gas station/convenient store, it has a great deli, souvenir section, friendly employees and also a homey/warm feel to it somehow kinda like the gas station/store next to Bretton Woods. They also had a public restroom and bug spray, yay! I had a chicken salad sub with bacon, and it was obvious they made the chicken salad themselves. Not a bit of fat anywhere, and it was delicious. They use the good, upgraded kind of pickles too so next time I will ask for extra. My husband had a pizza, and it was really tasty. We both liked the sauce and it had plenty of cheese- just wish the crust was crisped up. They have a few outdoor tables which we took advantage of, as we had our puppy with us which makes it near impossible to eat in the car these days. We will definitely be back, and maybe check out Squam Lake next time too since I've lived in NH my entire life and have never been... read more

I call this place Chesley's. I love this place. I get the chicken parmesan sandwiches - have been getting for the past 10 years. This and an Arizona iced tea. They also have meat for grilling and propane. It's not as high end as the squam lake market - however I don't do a double take when I get the reciept. Good for beer runs. This place is kind of a staple if you have a house on the lake. read more
