While we live in Concord, we have a summer place in Holderness and the Village Pizza is a frequent stop for us either on the way in or out a sit is very convenient to I-93. Their pizza is excellent but also we alternate that with their Italian entrees such as baked ziti or lasagna. Our one constructive suggestion is that they have a convenient system whereby one can pay the check via ones phone, but data coverage is so spotty in Ashland that this can be difficult. It would be great if they could add a guest wifi network which would make that feature really usable. read more

Out of stater here & ordered takeout 7:30pm on a Saturday night. Was expecting edible food, nothing spectacular. Boy were we happily surprised. A PERFECTLY cooked medium rare bacon cheeseburger & one of the most delicious stuffed shells I've eaten outside of a home in a very long time. This is the seafood combo I ordered for almost $20. Look at the portion size, 3 little shrimp, 3 little scollop's, and what looks like a piece of frozen fish. The food was very cold and soggy. We live in the area and have been frequent customers. of late even with rising prices, orders are wrong and when brought up management is rude. I'm a pretty polite person and I love small businesses. Things happen, people work short, I get it. But, the responses to the mistakes from Village are ridiculous. No sauce on a chicken parm. (you have to ask for it) no cheese on an extra cheese pizza. no lettuce or tomatoes on a burger with lettuce, tomatoes, a salad full of yellow lettuce, metal bristle in steak and cheese, the list goes on. Usually we let it go but lately it's a treat for us to eat out and this isn't the place we are spending our money. Called in an order for a pizza mid-afternoon on a Tuesday. The phone rang and rang, no answer. I thought "maybe they're busy", but unusual for this time of day. Called 10 mins later, got an answer and placed my order. Went to pick it up 15 mins later. No customers at all. So why no answer before??? I also had to look for an employee as NONE were in sight. Try the White Pizza (ricotta and garlic buttery goodness). I'm not even a big pizza person, often hoping for something healthy or light, but oh mylanta was this white pizza heavenly! This is their signature item that I highly recommend!! They also serve up a good slice of cheesecake with strawberries on top. And how can you go wrong with their $4 beer?! This place is great for a quick bite before heading in the highway I-93, or taking it to go to the beach or on your boat! They have indoor seating and a couple of picnic tables outdoors. The waitress was very kind to serve us at the picnic tables (generally reserved for takeout or curbside orders only). Service was friendly and again that white pizza was great and strawberry cheesecake yummy goodness. I want a fan off the grilled chicken and green pepper pizza or salad or sweet potato fries, bland and soggy. I noticed the mixed reviews on this place, but honestly this small pizza place gets a lot of visitors and service so something must be going well for them. They say "no one out-pizzas the hut", but village pizza certainly does! Had a Greek salad and cheese curd special for an app and both were very good. Had the white pizza and let me tell you it was one of the most heavenly pizzas I've ever eaten! The crust was perfectly crisp throughout and the sauce was garlic perfection all topped with ricotta. The food is quite passable although the waitress is not overly attentive and they put next to nothing in the drinks in the way of ice so what is in there melts quickly leaving you with a half warm watered down soda. The pizza was very good cheesey and crisp but it was not sliced completely thru. The buffalo chicken salad was quite good. Onion rings seemed hand battered and very good fried mushrooms where hit and miss some had the stems left in so when you took a bite you got mush and water the ones without stems where crisp and tasty. Also my wife ordered a calzone and they forgot to include ricotta so we had to have they remade but they did comp us a slice of baklava which we have yet to try. I wouldn't even give this locationone star. The last three times I've ordered from there including tonight there has been something wrong with my order, and same with my roommate(twice). When I ordered tonight I got two free items for the mistake on my order last time, which would have been great had I not gotten pizza that was raw. When I called to complain I was treated rude and disrespectful and pretty much called a liar about my pizza being raw. The manager, who should lose his job then proceeded to hang up on me. So I drove down there, in my pajamas in the middle of family night with my kids to speak to the manager. Who was AGAIN rude unhelpful and even when I showed him his half raw pizza stated "it was from the sauce" I Make homemade pizza at home and Ashland house of pizza down the road clearly does and I have never had a pizza look like that. I could actually stretch my crust. Literally. All I wanted was my money back, and instead I got treated like dirt and told not to come back. So after giving them approximately five chances, I say this place is the worst I have ever eaten. I wouldn't have even ordered from there today if some where else delivered. I have never had a solid correct and good order. In addition the person who answered the phone told the manager I was yelling and swearing at him, which I did not do. Stopped in for some pizza with my co-worker. Food was good. Environment was ok. It was cold in there. It wasn't too busy so our waitress was attentive. It's always kind of awkward when the employee bathrooms are in sight and next to customer seating area.
