I've come here a couple of times for lunch and have enjoyed everything I've tried. I honestly can't think of any feedback regarding the food that isn't positive. The menu says it is New York style. I'm not sure what that means, but the food has always been flavorful, hot, and filling. The lunch specials they offer are really affordable and you get a good size portion for what you pay. I haven't tried the dinner options yet, but I'm sure they're just as good. The few staff members I have interacted with have been really friendly. The only thing that would make it better would be if they had fountain drinks instead of just canned so you can get refills. But it's really not a deal breaker. They are set up as more of a takeout restaurant rather than a place to sit and be waited on. But they do have a few tables you can eat at if you choose to stay there. read more

It was fine. My husband and I ordered the orange chicken, garlic chicken, and vegetable lo mein. The garlic chicken and low mein were very bland in my opinion which was disappointing because the garlic chicken had such high reviews on UberEats. I don't usually prefer orange chicken but the orange chicken at Golden Rice Express was quite flavorful and had a nice crunch to the breading. We probably won't order from here again. read more

Made to order, super fast and always fresh. Never had a bad plate! Love the chicken and broccoli, but almost anything you get will be good.

Food was bland and just not good at all. We ordered chicken fried rice and beef and broccoli with an egg roll. This was the worst experience I think I've ever had getting food from any place to go. I do not recommend this place. I am a restaurant manager. I know customer service so instead of doing a Yelp I went in there and explain to her the situation that when I spent $60, I asked for extra sauce for my moose shoe. I got zero none you can't eat that without the sauce The eggrolls were not cooked all the way there mushy. I couldn't eat them. The lo mein beef noodles were very flavorless so I asked her for an extra thing of sauce. I had to throw the eggrolls out cause I couldn't eat them. I was just explaining this to her. She got an attitude with me so I left and I came back in and asked for another sauce and she's like I thought you didn't like our food. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. She told me to go through GrubHub. I ordered through to get my money back. I wasn't asking for my money back. I was craving some steamed dumplings and we were in the area. The place is clean and there were a couple tables inside to dine. I ordered a orange chicken dinner special with white rice and it came with an egg roll. Also ordered the steamed dumplings and an egg drop soup. The steamed dumplings only originally are served with soy sauce but there's a chili oil or dumpling sauce that I asked for. So good! The orange chicken wasn't spicy which I wish it had some spice but served with white rice and some steamed broccoli. The egg roll was crispy and so good. The egg drop soup was just broth and egg. We were in the area, so we looked for a place to eat nearby. Hubby found this restaurant...located in the Fry's strip mall, about 2 doors down from the grocery store. We were hungry and wanted to dine in. When we arrived, realized there were only 2 tables, but what the heck! I got an Eggroll (which was bursting at the seams and so good!) and BBQ Spare Ribs ( which were meaty, saucy and so tender!). Hubby got the Lemon Chicken and inhaled it before I was halfway done with my ribs...LOL!! Everything was very good. The entire time we were there (the only ones dining in), there was a steady stream of take out orders being picked up. The vegetable lo mein was pretty good, the hot and sour soup was ok, it tasted more sweet & sour? The orange chicken was not crispy, but I ordered it through uber eats so maybe a long drive eroded the crispiness? Idk but the breading was really soft and unappetizing, I didn't even finish it. The food was good and portion sizes large. Not many people there for lunch on a Monday. Some of the food is cut in big pieces so they recommend a soft beef in fried rice for my 90 year old mom. Her plate was enough for a family of 4! Haha! I had the tofu with rice and greens. The greens come with a pair of scissors so you can cut them into bite size pieces. I ordered the house rice which the rice taste fresh not day old and had delicious shrimp, pork, and chicken in it. I ordered the chicken egg roll and wonton soup. The egg rolls was fresh and with crisp skin. The wonton soup had plump filled wontons that maintained their integrity while in hot broth. The inside is pretty barren with remnants of COVID and limited seating but they have a steady stream of takeout. I hadn't been to this restaurant in probsbly over 10 years and decided to give it a try. Let me just say we've now done takeout at least 5x in two weeks. They have a great dinner special which includes rice a dish and an egg roll for an amazing price. Quantity is more than enough I can eat any leftovers for lunch. Food quality is excellent. Your frugalness is going to cost you business. I ordered the Pork Fried Rice. The rice was good, but the pork was terrible. It was all gristle and fat. I also ordered two egg rolls, they gave me half a container of sauce. It lasted 4 bites. While I was waiting for the order I noticed a few things. For one, I would NEVER want to dine in. The thermostat was set at 80. There were only two tables in the big room. The only sound in the place was the cooking in back. No music or anything. Very uninviting. My family and I have been going here for a couple of years now and love it! It's your typical small, family owned Chinese place. No frills if you are trying to dine in, but we always do take out. Fast and friendly. The food is awesome!!! As someone who came from the East coast, it's hard to find places that make the food like back home, and this place does not disappoint! They actually know how to make fried rice and wonton soup. If you're from NY, you'll know what I mean! Always get a free 2 liter of soda when we order several items which is a nice gesture. My family and I have been going to Golden Rice Express for over 20 years, long before the change in management. In the past this was a great place to eat. After my last visit I will no longer return. Through some miscommunication, the order that was place over the phone was incorrect, a simple mistake where the quantity of 2 items where switched. But rather than provide some customer service and refund the one incorrect item and ring in the correct item, which I would have been happy to wait for, the cashier decided it would be best to refund my whole order and then refuse me further service. At first I was very confused, I wasn't being rude or belligerent in any way, I'm a very quiet person. So I verified with the cashier if that's what she meant, that she was going to refund the order then refuse service, at which she shuck her head and said "yes". I understand that the business would incur produce damage for the one order that was wrong, but some basic customer service could have reduces that loss to just one order in exchange for an entire family of returning customers, but instead they chose to take a loss of 5 orders and losing customers for good. read more

Pretty bummed out and I'm in a great mood today. I feel roobbed. Came in around 7:50 pm (closes at 9:00) and ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl with extra sauce. Was told it be ten minutes or so....people were very nice but that's where it stopped. The bowl was $5.50, my total was $6.26 since I paid for extra sauce. I got barely any sauce, I got barely any chicken....well, I got chicken but it was inedible pieces I wouldn't even feed the animals. What was supposed to be a bowl with chicken, rice and extra sauce, ended up a rice box with enough teriyaki sauce to possibly fill three thimbles,four if you're lucky and this nasty dry chicken foreign parts that I'm sure get sold for horrible dog food brands. I had to play doctor, add my own sauces at my house and supplying my own chopsticks and napkins also...pretty bummed :( read more
