My daughter also bought a ukelele from Jim's and it's fantastic! I just bought another one as a gift for my other daughter, and I liked how they didn't try to sell me the most expensive one. They have lessons to learn an instrument. Currently you get a free month of lessons. It's awesome! They also sell sheet music. Great prices, great atmosphere, great employees! Chris, the repair tech at the location in Appleton, sent me a replacement through a third party. He didn't have my saxophone so he was hoping that the one he sent would be the correct screw--sadly (100% not anyone's fault) it was not correct. But it did screw in far enough to hold the post in place for the duration of the concert, it was a huge deal for me. The next day I was directed by the good people at the Heid Music location in Oshkosh (a beautiful place, with welcoming, and highly competent staff) to take my instrument to the location in Appleton, where Chris was working. The brand of screw that was supposed to fit my instrument wasn't fitting. Chris, with me in the repair room with him, exhaustively went through all the possibilities until he stumbled on a Yamaha screw that fit in my Selmer saxophone. He was engaging, and generous, and clearly had a serious know-how about the instrument (mine) he was working on. I can't recommend Heid Music enough. The stores are beautiful, with knowledgeable and friendly staff. They have an exhaustive inventory: a good mix of affordable student instruments and high end professional instruments, infinite pianos and string instruments, walls and walls and shelves and shelves of music books.
