First have to say the staff here is the best we frequent here so this review doesn't reflect the staff in any way they are truly the best and work really hard. The review is about the new changes to menu, def not a fan of the new items, bring back some of the classics, it def feels the menu is trying too hard and being across the street from a baseball park keep it simple and classic. The last few times we have gone they have been out of a lot of our favorite beers, knowing that baseball season is back they should make sure that they have plenty in stock before the weekend starts. Lastly is the time, I totally understand the need for a "hard close" however when you allow people to order at 10:30 and the food takes 10/15 min to arrive that only allows for 15 min or less to eat your food. Had to create an account just to rave about this place. Came here with my family and immediately loved the ambiance. So much space and a beautiful outdoors, perfect setting if you have littles. The beer was great, and the pizza was delicious. Everything came out really quickly and it felt like we were very attended to everyone. Speaking of, the servers were so nice and just easy to talk to. Golden Road Brewing has a perfect West Coast summer vibe! We came to eat and drink right before an Angels game. Although the place was packed, the venue is so massive that we were still able to find a free table. I enjoyed my steak street tacos (4 out of 5); it was very good but not great. My favorite beers I sampled were the trippel and the Pacific blonde (both 5 out of 5, excellent craft beers). Outside, they had a pop-up counter with someone grilling smash burgers. I got to try a few bites of my husband's smash burger, and it was absolutely delicious, covered in grilled onions, cheese, and mustard. I wish I had gotten that instead. We also came with our son. This place is super kid-friendly, with tons of children enjoying the wide outdoor space. My only criticism is the parking situation. Since so many people were using the small parking lots for the Angels game AND the brewery, it took us about 20 minutes to find a parking spot. I'm sure this isn't an issue on non-Angel game days, but if you are coming before a game, plan accordingly. read more

In short, great place with lots of good and drink options, but it can get packed out during events at the stadium. My +1 and I took our Little to Monster Jam at the Angels Stadium and found ourselves with a couple of hours before the main show. Since we had already parked at the stadium, we decided to walk here since it was right across the street, unfortunately for us, a whole lot of other people had the same idea. There was a lot of indoor and outdoor seating, but there were even more people, and what seemed like a mad rush to try and find open spots. It was all self - seating, with waiters running around their areas trying to make sense of it all. We circled around along with a lot of other people, and we happened upon a family that was leaving soon, and asked if we wanted their table. Score! We kept it simple and ordered burgers and fries for all of us, and beers for the adults. The food was decent, and surprisingly came out pretty quickly I have to say, despite the chaotic background, our servers were fairly up to speed. I had to take one point off because I felt like it could've been organized much better, instead of the battle Royale to try and find a place to sit. Nevertheless, we are grateful for the food and drink, and may come back when it's a little less busy. read more

Came in early afternoon while in town for the Padres vs. Angels game and had a mixed experience overall. I understand restaurants get busy and timing isn't always perfect, so this isn't about expecting instant service. That said, the experience felt inconsistent in a way that management should probably look at from a training standpoint. I first stopped at the bar around 2:08 PM and was told I couldn't order food there if I planned to sit at a table. That's fine if it's policy, but the delivery came off a bit dry and unwelcoming. I ended up just ordering a drink and still tipped 20%. We were seated around 2:58 PM when there were still plenty of open tables. The place itself is nice and has a good atmosphere. Within about 15 minutes it filled up, but despite being there early, it felt like we were being overlooked while other tables that arrived later were attended to first. We didn't get to place our order until 3:17 PM. Once our server came over, she was nice and polite, so no issue with her personally. The food timing after that was actually good--items started coming out by 3:24 PM and everything was out by 3:30 PM. The food itself was average. The main issue was follow-through. No one checked on us after the food arrived, and by around 3:48 PM I had to go back to the bar to get help. The bartender's attitude throughout stood out in a negative way--dismissive and not very professional. Our server eventually came back around 3:52 PM, but by then we had already asked for the check and were ready to leave. We left at 4:10 PM. Overall, this isn't a bad place--the atmosphere is nice and the kitchen timing was solid. But the service felt inconsistent from start to finish. With better coordination and a bit more attention to customer interaction, this could easily be a higher rating. For now, I'd say around 3-4 stars. read more

First of all Aaron H. Is a rockstar and helped us greatly. We ordered a variety of beers, and I tried the hazy IPA. It was ok. I asked Aaron what was his best beer, he suggested the Trapdoor. Bingo! Nice body, goes down well, and a winner overall. I'd suggest this one. We had Brussels sprouts, pepperoni pizza, burger, and street tacos. All food was as delivered and so good. This is a great place to meet and grab some beers! The food is great too especially during their happy hour! They have a good cripsy tuna rice and my favorite beer is the Mango Mas! I've bought Golden Road cans before over the years, but I had no idea the brewery was so close to me! They've got some other options besides the cans they sell at stores, I got the POG Mai Tai. Honestly, I have no idea what a mai tai is supposed to be but it was good. Some friends shared their food items with me, so I got to try the poke nachos, pretzel, fries and the margherita pizza. All were good but the pretzel was SO fire. A little crisp on the outside, soft on the inside and with a good tasting cheese dip, not too salty. It also had the right amount of salt on top. The staff was also great, the person who took my order (receipt says my server was PM Ghost B?) was friendly and others kept checking in on my party to make sure we were okay. This has become a regular go to for me when gathering with a group to watch a game and have some delicious beers, seltzers, ciders or wine along with a tasty and quality made food menu. The place gets absolutely jam-packed, especially when there is a local game or event going on (Angels, Ducks, concerts) so parking can often be a bit tight despite the two lots but the service has always been on point and the food has always been great. The fried avocado tacos and the burgers have been my traditional go to items but you really cant go wrong with anything off the menu. They have plenty of seating inside and out and televisions all around so you never miss a minute of the action. I do wish they still had the table games inside in the back corner but they still offer cornhole and a few others games outside on the lawn. The service here has always been friendly and the staff really knows their stuff and is always engaging and making recommendations if needed. Even though the dining area indoors was full and they were clearly people talking, it was actually pretty easy to hear the rest of the table talk. The best part about this brewery is the customer service because everybody working here was extremely attentive from those serving drinks to those working at the gift shop. I got the fish and chips today and paired it with a custom beer blend, half Mango Cart, half Street Cart. Super refreshing combo and perfect with anything here. The fish and chips came out hot and crispy. You get 3 thick, golden-battered fillets that are flaky inside and light on the outside without being greasy. Fries are those thin-cut kind and they don't mess around with portions. Coleslaw's crunchy and balances the whole plate out. Tartar sauce was creamy and tangy, just the way it should be. They offer $5 credit with your parking ticket to use towards your order, so it's a nice perk of parking here, if you're going to the Angel stadium or an event nearby. I got the avocado taco starter and it came with 3 tacos, double corn tortillas per taco - it was delicious! The mango cart la style was very good and perfect before a baseball game. The poke nachos were great. Loved the use of wonton wrappers in the nachos and they give a healthy serving of tuna. The fig and prosciutto pizza was the star of the meal. I love figs and was immediately intrigued. The combination of the figs plus the sweet carmalaized onions and the salty prosciutto went really well together. We also ordered a loco moco which was just okay. The ambience is really fun. They have games playing on multiple TV's, great music, and wide open space for a lot of seating indoors and outdoors. Service here is great too. The only con is the parking is $20 and the lot is small but you do get $5 off your bill if you eat there and show them your parking ticket. There is street parking too but it fills up quick. To start off, I love golden road their beers are top notch, I ordered the mango cart LA style which came with a chamoy & Tajín rim perfect for a hot sunny day. I enjoyed the ambiance of this place, it's very laid back chill type of vibe once you step in as its seat yourself and the staff will greet you and take your order once seated. I was a tad confused with the parking because upon first entrance I saw it was $20 which I strayed away from and decided on street parking. The food however was where I deducted a majority of the stars, the menu selection wasn't the best nor appealing to my eye but I decided on going with the burger. I had wished I took a picture before as the presentation was a bit above average however half way through I wasn't able to finish. Maybe this was my fault because I didn't specify the way I liked it cooked but I wasn't asked either and there was no default option on the menu as well. The burger just being less than halfway cooked was not my cup of tea.
