Lazy Waiter. Brutal. We had a party of seven and kindly told the waiter that we had to get out of there around 6p to get to work. We got there around 4:45p. We sat there for a long while before the waiter came by, we got the drinks. Those came out fairly normally. Then, he eventually took our orders a little after 5p. Then... we waited, and waited. We didn't have place settings for two people, he didn't ask, so we had to go get them ourselves. By 5:35p, no food, we reminded him that we had to get going soon. He didn't seem to care, "I'll check on the food." It finally came out around 5:45p. No drinks refills for any of us, no extra water. He didn't ask, didn't seem to care. Some of us ordered the meal with the dessert, so we paid for it but then the desserts weren't coming out so we asked him twice about them. No smile, no urgency. By then, it was 6:05p and we were late. We had to ditch the food we paid for because we wouldn't have been out of there until after 6:30p. A typical meal should be around 45 minutes, hour max. We were there almost 1.5 hours. If management is wondering, the waiter is the heavy-set guy with the beard... and the permanent scowl. Never smiled once, barely made eye contact. I've probably been to lazy dog maybe just twice in my life! The first time at the HB location was forgettable so I never came back. This second time we went here after a badminton session because it was open late and close by. It was a Wednesday night around 1030pm and place had a lot of people but no wait time. Since it was late, I ordered something light. I got the ahi tuna salad. Although it was tasty, it was pricey at $23. They do have a handful of happy hour items and the rest of the table mostly ordered from there and shared. Our table got the chicken lettuce wrap, meatballs, hummus, tomato bisque, and i ordered the cheese bread to share with my friend who got the soup. We figured since we were eating soup and salad, the cheesy bread was the perfect pairing and not only was it just $5, it was also good! I would ask for the happy hour menu if you come by because it shows exactly what you can order and at what price. Walked in, there were two workers and none acknowledged us. Finally a few minutes later someone else came and helped us out. I told him we wanted outside as long as we had a heater, he sat us outside and just left, never acknowledging the heater. Ambiance was good, a concert ended next door at the Honda center and it started getting busy. Im only giving it 3 stars just because our waitress was great!! It's been awhile since I've been to lazy dog and I've always gone to the location in Brea. We came around 9pm and our server Carla was sweet. This review is solely for the host and I believe the bartender? We walked in and we got directed by the bartender to sit at a long booth. We were confused but followed him to get seated anyway. We then went to talk to the host and she gave us a weird look as if we shouldn't have followed him when we didn't even know ? Instead of helping us out and do her job, she was answering our questions with another question, not providing any assistance only her attitude for no apparent reason. It was very packed with more people waiting to be seated. We sat outside because we brought our family dog. Since we opted to sit outside, we only waited about 12 min to be seated. The downside of sitting outside are the pieces from the trees constantly falling. Service: Shout out to our server Aiden! He was very attentive by checking on us multiple times. Throughput was surprisingly quick after ordering. We were told the kitchen was slow, but our food came out in a timely manner. Food: We all ordered the Cajun fries to share. I thought the Cajun fries were okay. It has a unique taste than the usual Cajun fries. It's more citrusy than I'd prefer. I ordered the Fried Chicken Dinner for my entree. It came with 2 buttermilk fried chicken breasts drizzled with hot honey, red skin mashed potatoes, sautéed spinach & bacon, and white gravy. The buttermilk fried chicken was fried and seasoned well. The honey made it sweet, and the white gravy gave it extra flavor. The spinach was accompanied by a generous amount of bacon, which I appreciated. We're longtime Lazy Dog lovers, but after they closed their original location in Westminster/HB, we've had to venture out to this location to get our fix. Coming in for brunch on Easter Sunday, we expected it to be crowded. Fortunately we had a reservation but it did take some time for us to be greeted. This particular location always seems to be understaffed, with some waiters either assigned to too many tables or too many large parties at once. Our food and drinks were great as always, though we've noticed portion sizes on some brunch items have definitely shrunk (Cheesy Eggs & Avocado Toast - serving of eggs felt much smaller than before, no longer available with the usual hash brown but tater tots instead). Lazy Dog is everything you'd hope for in an "American Chain" restaurant - you get really tasty food, great sized portions, all for a reasonable price. This location is next to the Honda Center in the Cinemark plaza, making it an excellent choice for a meal or drinks before or after any other activities you're doing in the area. Parking is on the tighter side in front of the restaurant, but there's plenty of other options within walking distance. I normally do takeout, but have had positive experiences when eating at this location as well. My go-tos are the Lemon Chicken Dinner (super flavorful and a high protein option), the $15 Mediterranean Chicken deal (entree + a dessert for $15 is great these days), and their burgers (all great), but honestly there aren't any real "bad" options on their menu. If you're looking for a great takeout option or something to eat before a movie/game, then Lazy Dog is a great option to consider. It's nice to see they've maintained their quality through the years, and continue to find ways to get creative with their menu too! read more

First off, the entire staff was so sweet and welcoming, babe mentioned it was our first time here and the manager brought out their signature chips on the house. Service was pretty top tier. The food was very tasty, everything cooked to perfection. I really enjoyed our food. There was a small discrepancy with our bill but our waitress quickly resolve the issues. Bottom Line Up Front: As a large restaurant chain, Lazy Dog will deliver good (but not great) food for high-ish prices. The cool thing about this franchise is that, as the name implies, it's canine-friendly so you can bring your pup (and sit outdoors) and order them food, too. We've visited several Lazy Dog locations in the past, but this review will focus on our last visit to this specific spot in Orange. The Food: We ordered the cheeseburger off the kid's menu and the Inside Out Quesadilla from the Larger Shareables section of the main menu. Despite it being for children, the kid's cheeseburger was basically a full-size burger, which itself was well done and rather dry and boring. But the fries were crispy and tasty. The Quesadilla, while far from being authentic, was packed with gooey cheese and had a nice seared layer of crispy cheese on the outside. Since this was from the Larger Shareable section, it could have fed two people who wanted a light dinner. For drinks, we got the Tropical Sparkling Refresher (OJ, pomegranate, coconut-pineapple cream, and mint) and a Coke with Grenadine (to make a Cherry Coke clone). My wife loved the former drink (though it was a little too tart for me) while the latter hit the spot even if it wasn't officially a Cherry Coke. The Service: Our server was pleasant and knowledgeable with solid recommendations. However, she seemed overloaded with a lot of tables and didn't return too often. Plus, our handheld Clover payment device gave us an error code; it required her to disappear for a while to reset our bill and place it on another device. I don't fault her for any of this and suggest that management beef up staffing and do a better job maintaining their equipment. The Location: The restaurant was clean, well organized, and beautifully decorated. It has an outdoorsy theme and, of course, plenty of dog paraphernalia. The Parking: Arriving at 7:40 p.m. on a Tuesday night, we expected the dinner rush to have passed. But the parking lot was nearly full. This was probably due to the patrons of the Cinemark Century movie theater next door, along with several other restaurants in the same Stadium Promenade shopping complex. So expect it to be packed if you're going during peak hours or on the weekends. The Conclusion: Whether you're a canine lover or not, Lazy Dog will satisfy you as long as you are prepared for premium prices for above-average food. But if you're expecting Michelin-star quality or affordable prices, you might be barking up the wrong tree. read more

Today, I happened to be in the area, so my nephew and I stopped by for lunch before catching a movie. It had been a long time since I'd been in this area, and since this restaurant was nearby, we decided to grab a quick bite. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the moment we walked in. The male host at the front was not very friendly. He didn't welcome us, didn't smile, and had a look on his face like he didn't want to be there. The service didn't get any better. It took our server at least 10 minutes just to come to our table and take our order, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. We were trying to eat quickly because we had a movie to catch, so the slow service was frustrating. I ordered the chicken and rice bowl, and my nephew ordered the noodles from the kids' menu. The food was fine, but the customer service left a lot to be desired. When we left, no one thanked us or acknowledged us. I don't know what was going on with the staff that day, but they definitely need better customer service training and know how to work in sense of urgency. We got candy bacon, cheese curds, Brussel Sprouts, and deviled eggs to share. After that she had chicken pot pie, and I had fried chicken. We had the cookies for dessert. This was the first time my friend had cheese curds and I'm happy she liked them. Candy bacon is addictive. You can eat it like chips while watching a game on TV. I love deviled eggs, and can pop those like candy. We both thought the sprouts had to much of a vinegar taste. My friend enjoyed her chicken pot pie, and took some home for breakfast the next day. We asked him about seats and he said if we don't mind the patio area ... he can seat us there. Not sure why the hostess didn't offer that option when we first asked. I didn't like my birria noodles. They were too soggy for me. They didn't have a lot of birria meat. There was just too much sauce in it. The pot roast beef dip was good. It was flavorful. Our waiter deliberately kept skipping our table and later claimed he "assumed we were done ordering," even though all we had ordered was one appetizer and one drink for our entire table. The most frustrating part was watching him repeatedly check on every other table while continuing to ignore ours. I could understand if the restaurant was packed, but it wasn't busy enough to justify this level of neglect. The service was completely unacceptable and ruined the entire experience. My wife and I recently came and bought tomato soup from this location and found a metal object inside the soup. On top of that, the soup had a strong chemical taste that made us feel uncomfortable continuing to eat it. We contacted corporate about the issue and never received any response, which was extremely disappointing given the seriousness of the situation. Finding a foreign metal object in food is a major safety concern, and the lack of communication afterward only made the experience worse. We hope this issue is taken seriously so it doesn't happen to someone else. read more
