I love getting Country Ham when I come home to visit because we can't get it in Las Vegas. It was good , but I have to say the portion was a little smaller than I expected. The Mashed Potatoes and Gravy was good , but the Mac-n-Cheese I didn't really care for. Sweet Tea was on point. My friend liked his Patty Melt and fries. He knew our waitress and she was nice enough to take a picture of us. Bennettsville is still the small town community that I remember and grew up in. I would love to see it grow again like many places have even though all the jobs moved away years ago when the factories moved overseas. My father and I walked the streets of Bennettsville everyday after he got off work and we visited many of the shopkeepers after his first heart attack to give him some exercise. He grew up in Bennettsville and never moved as many of the people that he grew up with. Bennettsville was a tight knit community then and I know the ones that I grew up with still have this place in their heart even being thousands of miles away like me.

My burger was a little different than expected -- it comes on grilled Texas toast -- but it was still good, just a bit heavy on the bread. The onion rings, however, were very good. We asked our waitress about the pizza, and she explained that there used to be a pizza place across the street that was always busy. The owner of Arnold's also owned that pizza place, and after it closed and became a gas station, they decided to bring the pizza to Arnold's. She said they just started serving pizza a few weeks ago and have been very busy since adding it. One odd thing worth mentioning was the restroom. It was freezing cold, almost uncomfortable, and when you go to wash your hands there's a sign warning about extremely hot water, but no hot water came out at all. My wife said the women's restroom was the same way. On our way out, we walked past the pizza bar. Any who. What great breakfast. I'm from the South and have had my share of grits but what they do here with grits is freaking incredibly delicious. I literally don't have the words to describe how great they are to eat. Just trust me. Get the grits. The eggs were expertly cooked and liver pudding was perfectly spicy and meaty. The linked sausages were also fantastic. This will be our go to place for breakfast the next time we are visiting family here. Highly recommend. I ate mine, but it was so dry that I had to drench it in ketchup to get it down. On the bonus side, I jokingly suggested to our server that we should get a free round of drinks for our wait, which she surprised us after our food delivery with that free round, which was super nice; thus the comments that service was great. Just the food and kitchen needed major help.
