Whenever I need something, I start my search at St. Matthew's House before checking anywhere else. Just recently, I moved apartments and needed a new sofa. If I hadn't found the perfect one, I was planning a trip to this wonderful thrift store! I kinda want to keep it our little secret... so don't tell anyone! After giving them information on the items, they quoted me about $200 that I have to pay in order to donate. After calling Good Will back, they don't do pickup any longer and if I want to donate, I have to bring it myself or pay for the pickup. And in return they will sell it for a higher price. I rather leave on the sidewalk and have the garbage collectors dispose of those items or any one that may have a used for them

The housewares I would say had a large selection, but did feel a little expensive for thrifting. Holiday decor was upwards of $8-$10 for some items. I did find and purchase a set of corelle plates for $12.99 which included 4 large plates, 5 small plates, and 5 bowls. The book selection was also very large and well organized. I looked through the cookbook section and found a book on juicing I ended up purchasing as well. Overall a great trip into thrift here and will be back next time I'm in town!

We fell upon Community Thrift Store almost inadvertently. They have plenty of framed pictures and wall hangings, some well-priced, some over the top. I have no interest in anything mass-produced that looks like it belongs in Motel Six. Simply put, I know what I like when I see it. And I saw it! A nicely framed, beautifully matted and signed photograph by R.C. Fulwiler from Saugatuck, MI. Reasonably priced at $15, it was also eligible for a 40% discount. Score! Community Thrift has furniture, most in very good shape. (Maybe I should have bought the solidly-built handmade table, also priced at $15.) There's a rack of clothing, supposedly from Chico's -- eh -- and other items one normally finds thrifting. Walking out I noticed that the store is under the direction of Shell Point, a wonderful senior community that houses the Tribby Gallery. (Tribby's exhibits always pique my interest. If you're local, check their schedule.) Proceeds go towards combatting Parkinson's disease. I like this place!

There limited parking out front and a back lot -- per the signs. Inside, there are a ton of clothes. Items are arranged by category and color. But prices are nutso. There were dresses at $20 and 30 dollars and more mixed in. Of the bric a brac, a lot is thrown into plastic bags s d prices as lots. It's hard to see the condition of the items or even tell what's in each bag. It's a crap shoot. I don't think we would bother coming back here again...
