Whenever I need something, I start my search at St. Matthew's House before checking anywhere else. Just recently, I moved apartments and needed a new sofa. We fell upon Community Thrift Store almost inadvertently. They have plenty of framed pictures and wall hangings, some well-priced, some over the top. I have no interest in anything mass-produced that looks like it belongs in Motel Six. Simply put, I know what I like when I see it. And I saw it! A nicely framed, beautifully matted and signed photograph by R.C. Fulwiler from Saugatuck, MI. Reasonably priced at $15, it was also eligible for a 40% discount. Score! Community Thrift has furniture, most in very good shape. (Maybe I should have bought the solidly-built handmade table, also priced at $15.) There's a rack of clothing, supposedly from Chico's -- eh -- and other items one normally finds thrifting. Walking out I noticed that the store is under the direction of Shell Point, a wonderful senior community that houses the Tribby Gallery. (Tribby's exhibits always pique my interest. If you're local, check their schedule.) Proceeds go towards combatting Parkinson's disease. I like this place!

The quality of the clothing, home decor, etc was beautiful and everything was so neat and organized! (Even during such a busy and chaotic sale for the store!) The staff were quick and efficient with checking out all of the customers. There was also a young adult working who was extremely helpful and also made beautiful displays. She had a fantastic attitude and made my experience at the store even more enjoyable. I love how the store always posts pictures and videos of the merchandise available in the store. I even got some of the items I saw pictured in the posts! I will absolutely be back! I also appreciate their mission. Keep up the excellent work and thank you for such a great sale!
