I never leave reviews but this experience was one for the books and not in a good way. My piercer was extremely" not a people person" . Bad day? Maybe . I seemed to have bugged him for giving him my business. Went in for a tongue piercing and I can sense odd tension for no reason. Didn't even introduce himself or anything . Myself the customer had to say "what's your name ". He marked me for my piercing and didn't fill me in on what was going on at all and was going to pierce me with out even explaining what he was doing . And then he had the audacity to get upset at me for asking if I can look at the mark he made. He also made a comment about a $20 fee for me backing out of the piercing for supplies which is totally fine but YOU are the reason I was second guessing it . Truth is I was only second guessing getting the piercing because he made me so uncomfortable from the unnecessary tension. I can't speak on them about their work for tattoos but if you are going to get a piercing , go to any of the other dozens of shops in the area . read more

A couple days ago, Neo gave me a large dreamcatcher tattoo, with feathers, on my forearm. I couldn't be happier. It wasn't a standard design. I wanted, not sure what to call it, a nautical or compass design, in the center of the dream catcher. He nailed it. The lines were perfect. Where I work, many coworkers are heavily inked. This is my first tattoo that is visible without taking of my shirt. They were in awe of Noe's skill. I highly recommend Noe, and New Hope. A clean as hell place, with a great atmosphere. After reading some reviews and doing a bit of research, we decided to go to New Hope today to get my daughters ears pierced for the first time for her birthday. Very glad we did! We called ahead and were told what we would need (ID wise) and that being a walk in would be fine. We went today (Saturday afternoon) and had one or two other people in front of us but the wait was very short and we were seen promptly. Brian greeted us and explained the process and had us fill in the appropriate paperwork. Very happy with Brian - my 9 year old daughter was really super nervous - there were more than a few tears and hugs and, for a few moments, it looked like she was going to back out completely. Brian was very patient, reassuring and we never felt pressured to rushed. In the end, my daughter went ahead and got her ears pierced as hoped and Brian was soothing throughout the process - highly recommend him, especially for nervous or younger piercing clients as my daughter was very happy and nice and calm afterwards. All in all - reasonably priced, very happy with our professional and very pleasant piercer and a clean and welcoming shop so absolutely recommended! read more

The guy knew I was from out of state so he said he was charging 300 then I told him I didn't need color but still charged me the 300? he took it upon himself to make sure he gets extra money out of it. Then! I try to come back for 1 line that's missing that they messed up on and he completely blows me off and doesn't respond once I get out there. Might I remind you I came from minnesota for this tattoo and I've revisited chicago twice since then left on seen and blown off everytime. Now I'm trying to give a 3rd chance and I'm being ignored by Noe Rodriguez. I have had my ears pierced at many different places, and I can definitely say that their piercers know what they are doing. The piercing was super quick, easy, and almost painless. As far as tattoos, I wouldn't get a tattoo anywhere else. I've gotten one tattoo from here, and another from a different parlor. Starting off on a positive, the salon was very clean. The artist's we also worked with (there were 4 of us getting the same tattoo) kept us in good spirits and were knowledgeable on keeping a clean work station. However, I am very disappointed in the quality of the tattoo's we received, especially for the price. Unfortunately, the artist went over the same spot multiple times with different sized needles causing severe trauma to that area. I've never had as thick of a scab before (and I have 10 tattoos prior to this one). When I reached out to the establishment with my concerns regarding the healing and risk for infection, I was told to just monitor it and come back in to have them touch it up. While I know they are willing to touch it up, I will not be returning to this establishment mainly out of concern for the integrity of my skin and tattoo. read more

I got a tattoo here at the end of November 2021. My horse had died suddenly, I was having a really hard time with it, and I wanted a small, simple tattoo in memory of her. I did a bunch of research and decided on Beto for my artist bc even a small tattoo is a big deal since it's something (mostly) permanent on my body. Noe greeted me at the door and I told him I wanted to speak to/make an appointment with Beto. He asked to see my design, an outline of a hoofprint, and then told me that the other artists wouldn't do a simple design like that, they would see it as a waste of their time, and that he was the only one there who would do it. That didn't sit well with me, but I thought a 5-star studio wouldn't hire an artist who isn't highly skilled, right? WRONG. I emailed him my design like he asked, and when I arrived for my appointment, he showed me his own design, which looked like a stick drawing from a 4 year-old, and I wish I were exaggerating. I told him that I wanted to stay with my original design, but add my horse's name under the hoofprint in Helvetica font bc that's what was on her halter. I specifically told him that I wanted the lines thinner on the hoofprint bc ink bleeds over time, and I wanted everything spaced for that same reason. He kept assuring me no problem. Tattoo was done, couldn't really see much with the swelling, blood, and Tegaderm, so was excited to really get a look at it when it was time to remove the Teg and clean it. When I saw it, I wanted to cry. The letters are all SUPER close to each other and the hoofprint, the letters are all different sizes, and the lines of the hoofprint are all messed up (you can tell he tried to fix it by making the lines thicker in some places). I thought maybe give it some time, let it heal, and maybe I'll be fine with it, but I'm not. Every time I look in the mirror and see it, I regret letting Noe do it. I want it removed, but that costs thousands of dollars that I don't have. The place itself is clean and nice, but don't let Noe touch you. read more
