Last night I visited Golden Spoon for the first time and I'm definitely coming back. Everything was super good and fresh. I asked the young girl working at the counter to surprise me, since I don't get ice cream often, and she was actually amazing; I have to avoid nuts at all costs and she took the time to go over everything with me, double-check stuff, and make sure I was good. She was super patient and didn't make it awkward at all, which I really appreciated. She made my whole experience better bc I didn't have to stress about what I was getting. read more

Service was great, the gal serving us was sweet and welcoming as soon as we walked in. I just wasn't a huge fan of the flavors or frozen yogurt texture. It was a creamy, but with that it was also very melty. We stayed inside and the froyo melted pretty quickly. We got the original vanilla and coffee flavor, nothing special and coffee flavor almost felt artificial. I was excited to try the coffee dough ($4 extra) as a topping. It looked fresh and made in-house. However, I thought they just put such a huge clump of cookie dough, it totally overpowered the froyo. We could barely get to the froyo with all the cookie dough given. Would be nice to have a better ratio of it, but I can understand if someone wants $4 worth of cookie dough on their ice cream. I love Golden Spoon and have always enjoyed their yogurt, but I have to take a few stars off for the inaccurate hours. The website lists Sunday hours as opening at 12 PM, but we arrived only to find out they don't actually open until 1 PM. It's a little frustrating to make a trip based on the posted hours, only to discover they're incorrect. And honestly, who doesn't open until 1 PM on a Sunday, especially in the middle of summer in California when people are out and about? The yogurt is great, but I'd definitely recommend updating the posted hours so customers know what to expect. read more

I love the frozen yogurt from golden spoon because it is so smooth and creamy. I like the topping choices too. I ordered a regular chocolate with peanut butter. My toppings are almonds and coconut. They have a small parking lot behind the building. I was so happy to come back to golden spoon. We used to have them in Vegas. read more

Been coming to golden spoon in CDM FOR 25 years. Everytime someone from out of town is visiting we end up our night enjoying some froyo I was embarrassed to walk in tonight. Arrived just after opening and met a trainee who warmly welcomed me. Bright, clean, ADA friendly. Upon ordering the experienced employee appeared. Having once been a retail manager was impressed and appreciated the patience and incredible specific, applicable direction taught in my transaction. Who knew there's a specific way to seal the top of a to-go cup or how to legitimately fill a to-go container - grateful I can depend on a uniform outcome! Wish I'd got their names; the trainer should travel your district. All of the above is impressive, yet we know it's all about the frozen yogurt! This is one of the OG Yogurt Shops in OC. I remember coming with my college friends. Very nostalgic for me, growing up in the area. All of the times I've visited, the staff are super friendly and helpful. Sure, some of them are more friendlier than others but they are generally all FRIENDLY. I have my FAVE servers of course. Today we came by and saw their remodeled space since a car ran into their shop a month ago. We loved the new red and black paint colors and the new floors. Looks amazing and bright now. The shop is always clean when we come in whether it's at opening, middle of the day, or in the evenings. There are times we've seen the tables dirty with melted yogurt but it's from messy customers that don't clean after themselves. When it's busy, the poor staff cannot go to clean the mess if they have a line out the door. We are ok with understanding that. I read through some of the negative reviews and they don't seem to be regulars that live in the area but people that are not locals. We've gone enough times to see that the staff are not the problem, it's almost always the rude customers. We normally get the following: 01. Chocolate Gelato (so smooth and yummy) - with Mochi, broken Waffle Cones or Granola 02. Coffee (so good) 03. Salted Caramel 04. Non-Diary (in the summertime) - Mango (would love if they had Watermelon or Peach for summertime) NOTE: They are pretty generous with portions and toppings. I like the soft-serve consistency vs the traditional stiffer texture. The Staff are always great about asking if you want your order in a cup with a lid or a cone. I always get a cup to take with me. Really liking the updated options for fro yo in the neighborhood. I am especially happy that they added a non dairy option, I only wish it would switch flavors more. To be fair I have only been in there over the past two months and its been pink lemonade the whole time. Its overly sweet but non dairy beggars cant be choosers so I will still get it. More "soft-serve" consistency than frozen yogurt, but still one of my favorite dessert shops. I used to frequent the Irvine location all the time so I'm so glad there's one in CDM nearby. I'm shocked by the low rating of Golden Spoon. My husband and I spent the day in CDM and thoroughly enjoyed ending the day with something sweet before heading back to San Diego. We went mid day, around 3pm, so it was very quiet with exception to the 10 people who came and went over the half hour we sat outside. The employee working was friendly and helpful and the restaurant was clean and fully stocked. I ordered a small mango passionfruit sorbet which was so tangy and delicious that I wish I would've ordered a bigger size. My hubby had the peanut butter and cookies and cream which was creamy and spectacular. Definitely going again the next time we're up there. read more

So it's sad cause I have been to this location a few times and sometimes it's good but today around 2:45 it was disappointing. The young lady behind the counter was lacking in customer service. The yogurt was so soft you couldn't even eat it before it melted. The machines were disgusting, you could see the build up and crusted on yogurt. I almost didn't get anything. Service here is terrible!! I would give no stars if I could. Before they finished making my ice cream, I cancelled my order and my wife just got hers. Manager CHOO walked in and instead of taking mine away, he would not give my money back and charged me for my ice cream. My wife and I had an emergency and had to leave and they would not accommodate us. She is pregnant and we told manager CHOO that she was allergic to one of the toppings and he still insisted on charging us full price. This is completely unacceptable and unlawful. I will never go back to this place and don't recommended anyone else does either. SMH And to respond to the owner, we DID mention allergies and the pregnancy and they did nothing about it BTW. Also, the food was NOT CONSUMED EITHER so we do not appreciate your staff lying about our behalf or you doing that either. I also have a picture and was recording the entire time to also prove you are lying about it being consumed and that we did mention the pregnancy. Would you like me to post that? Grew up going here all the time after swim practices or summer camp. It always feels nostalgic when I pass by and I stopped in last week for a treat and it is still just as good as it has always been! I see they now have cookie dough, so I may try that next time. We were hesitant to come here as their online reviews were not great. We decided to give it a try as we were passing by. We had a great experience. We came in on a Thur at 4:30 pm and the young man behind the counter was very pleasant, polite and helpful. My son liked his ice cream & toppings as well. I didn't give it a 5 star as it's nothing fancy or unique but it's good old fashioned soft serve with fresh toppings served by a friendly person. No support and inside it's super hot- the ac is not pumping at all. Here is my biggest gripe: they are super reserved in their yogurt servings. You know how at pink berry they stack the yogurt so it goes above the brim of the cup by at least 3 inches? Here, the yogurt doesn't event go above the cup brim. It's below it. No big beautiful swirl presentation. It's comical. The servings are so small. You go to bacio di latte at fashion island and they CRAM so much in their cup. Not here. I was SO disappointed. This is the last time I have given this place a chance. Every time it drives me crazy how a yogurt shop could be so dysfunctional and wrong. From wait time. To air temperature. To comically small servings. It's supposed to bring joy but going to this location always makes me sad. Ditch this place and go to bacio. Bigger selection. Bigger staff. Better quality.
